  • He has a nice voice but I prefer Crawford, Jones & Worlow. Is he of Iranian descent? His name sounds persian. He's very cute too (not so much in this though).

  • @PapilioPudibundus Yes, Ramin and his family moved from Iran when he was really little and then they took up residence in Canada.

  • I got goosebumps.

  • LOL Ramin looks so young in this video!! I love it!

  • Just saw him in the Albert Hall 25th anniversary edition, and I'm in love. My favourite Phantom by far, and I've seen the show live, seen the movie, seen various adaptations. Ramin was absolutely incredible in every way.

  • I'm completely in love with him no matter what show he is in <3

  • in my opinion i like gerard as phantom since his version was the one i saw first. but don't get me wrong, he's diffrent from other phantoms and so are we. so there's no use compairing each of the phantoms. everyone has his/her favorite :)

  • Ramin doesn't compare to Crawford & yet he's still damn good. That's how awesome Michael was in that role.

  • He should have played Phantom with a beard!

  • YEAH PERSIANS IN THEATRE!! REPRESENT!!

  • @freebrainstorms i think you couldn't be more wrong. The rasp in his voice suits the role and its just his style. The song intensifies at let the dream begin and his delivery simply puts emphasis on the part. i think he did a fantastic job. and gerard butler.... really? he sounded like he was going to crap himself after every note don't compare him to real classical singers.

  • @freebrainstorms Do you even know what breath control is?

  • @freebrainstorms If you think Gerard Butler was a good Phantom then all your taste is in your mouth.

  • @freebrainstorms Microphones cause that 'lisp' you're talking about. It has nothing to do with him. Also, you obviously know nothing about breath control, if you say that he has bad breath control, I mean, LISTEN TO HIM!!! It's the voice of an angel. 'Nuff said.

  • the last comment posted by this username was my brother. he thought it would be "funny" to troll a video, and was unaware of the effects it has on other people. I logged on his accout to apologize for his comment before anyone read it, because comments like this effect people negatively. please don't respond to it, and just ignore it.

  • there is something idont like about either of these people...i have no idea what it is though.

  • This is the song that made me fall in love with this play -3 xx

  • my fave song that made me love the phantom! :DDDDD

  • her hair is........it doesnt fit her face..

  • ramin is the best phantom

  • The way he says "COLD unfeeling light" = instant orgasm

  • @Alison9487 Same here <3 You Ramin!

  • not to take away from the beauty of his voice but that Christine is beautiful.

  • Wow! Incredibly powerful! What a voice!

  • I'm sorry Gerard Butler Ramin is now my favourite Phantom

  • @WWELURVA101 Ramin was in the movie but I am disappointed that he couldn't play the phantom. Ramin would have done a lot better than Gerald.

  • @Yahiko25 Yes, Ramin is much better as the Phantom, if Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to do a re-make of the film, he should definately cast Ramin Karimloo as the Phantom.

  • @Yahiko25 why on Earth would they give him a tiny role in the movie, such an incredible talent, and give Gerard, a non-singer, the lead? It's not like they were going for star power, as Gerard was basically an unknown at the time. Boggles my mind. Was there some reason Ramin couldn't/wouldn't do it?

  • This man needs to get himself over to Broadway. It's just not fair you lucky West Enders get to see him so much across the pond.

  • Oh, Ramin... <3 He is my favorite along with JOJ and Michael Crawford! *is a Ramin fangirl XD*

  • Amazing! *sigh*

  • Gerry Butler and Ramin Karimloo are probably the best "Erik"s in this decade. But if we went back to the 80s- Michael Crawford all the way. :D

  • Ramin my phantom He is the best.

  • @nickyaheart noooooooooooo! Gerry is my fav. You have to say he is your fav cuz he is not the best. The other phantoms are very good as well hahaha

  • @nurz33 very annoying

  • @nickyaheart yup you are hahahaha

  • Ramin is the BEST Phantom!!!!

    Love him!

  • I love him, but I love him with Sierra as Christine, their chemistry is amazing

  • @MsAbixxx are you kidding?! He sounds like a dying cow with a tuba shoved down its throat!

  • Someone had the full vid of him singing music of the night from the anniversary dvd on here a few weeks ago. I gotta say this performance is good, but it can't even compare to his performance on the dvd. My god, it was so incredible and full of emotion, and one of the only versions to make me cry. He plays a wonderful phantom!

  • I yesterday listened to Ramin L!VE @ the badmington theatre in Athens, Greece. Along with Simon Bailey and Stephen Rahman-Hughes! I was sitting at the 4rth row and it was the best performance i have ever heard!

    Ramin is the Best!....RESPECT!

  • @xan8oulis7 same as me only i was in the 1st row. respect to ramin.

  • He has the most amazing voice. He can sing for me anytime:)

  • He has amazing power in his voice and a great range... but he just sounds off key and emotionless to me. Just my opinion, but I still think Michael Crawford owns this role...

  • Oooooh, what I would give to see Ramin Karimloo as Svengali<3

  • Ramin is great and it is amazing to know that lots of Valjeans have also played the Phantom.

  • remake phantom movie, use ramin :)

  • Oh god I love him!!! What I would give to be Christine right now...

  • he will always be enjrolas to me. though i love him as phantom! :):):):):):)

  • i have proformd on that stage

  • ok so i read to check out this bloke in comparison to to Gerard Butler our latest phantom. I know this guy is an opera singer and has a lovely opera voice, but he is not phantom material, he has no strength in his voice. Andrew Lloyd Webber, you made the right choice of phantom mate..

  • @mitsygal I do agree that Gerard Butler was good, but I also agree with one critic when they said that the film director made his Phantom a bit too handsome, that his mask was more of a fashion accessory than to hide his deformity, and one thing, please don't get mad at me but the deformity was crap in the film

But Gerard does have a good singing voice, he gives the Phantom a good commanding presence, but I prefer Ramin, unlike Gerard, Ramin's voice gives me goosebumps

    But Gerard was good

  • @mitsygal Gerard was a rock singer, as per what Mr. Webber was looking for for the Phantom. But he was also touched up tremendously in this song and could barely sing it (listen to Down Once More to hear him hit an unadulterated A♭).

So in my opinion if Ramin added just a pit of edgy rock singer into his voice he'd be what a lot of the movie people are expecting without being jeopardizing what the role once was.

Summary: Gerard yells, Ramin mixes. I think you're confused by what "power" is.

  • OG

  • Ramin is superb!!! He captured the soul and the spirit of the Phantom!

  • just WOW,

  • wonderful use of speech, wonderful voice, wonderful dramatics, beautiful song.

Ramin brings it all in beautiful unification

  • Ramin.. Must you be so freakin amazing!?

  • Comment removed

  • ramin. marry me. the end.

  • Eeeeh, I think his voice better suits Raoul. Which isn't an insult; he's good. Just... not old and deep enough for the Phantom in my opinion.

  • Ramin is the PERFECT phantom!!! My good friend and I saw the 25th anniversary concert and we both fell head over heels in love with it! This song especially is wonderful!!

  • Ramin and Michael are both just as awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

    Michael and Sarah

    Ramin and Sierra

Its the chemistry that made everything perfect!

  • I will always love Michael Crawford, THE original Phantom. But Ramin is just about the only other person I am happy with as the Phantom : )

  • I really think Hugh panaro is the best. This one is close though.

  • I've listened this song so many times and from different singers,But Mr.Karimloo is still the best one

  • He is the best!He sings even better than Michael Crawford.

  • MARRY ME, RAMIN.

  • Ramin is my favorite Phantom...I got gooseypimples.

  • OMFG OMFG *gasps repeatedly-close to a panic attack* I can't wait for the DVD and CD! IMO, this is my favorite cast, b/c the Original London Cast CD sounds awful in quality, as far as volume and sound goes (it sounds like they're singing at a distant and you have to blast it to hear it) and the Canadian Cast is my second favorite =D

  • I really think John Owen Jones is THE phantom, but he's good too.

  • John owen jones is such a better vocalist than ramin....i dont understand how people could watch this after seeing joj sing this song...his is so much more powerful, and much better sang. This guys pitch is just a hair off at times. Really annoying.

  • @th3691 DUDE PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT LIKES there are powerful quiet sexy and mix Ramin is more of a mix

  • he's so amazing. i'm lucky to have the dvd/blu-ray coming out right around the time of my birthday. i just can't wait to get it. he's the BEST phantom i've ever seen or heard.

  • ramin karimloo has just signed on as the new JEAN VALJEAN in les miz! wow! im gonna miss him as the phantom though. apparently he's never doing the phantom anymore

  • Ramin Karimlaoo is good, but Michael Crawford is still the BEST PHANTOM

  • he is sooo sexy

  • that man can sing like an angel, of music!!

  • the 25th performance was just so much better- the microphones actually picked up just how shocked/pleasured/nervous his gasp was when she leant into the crook of his arm. It was ...I just...it's the best performance. I was won over.

  • while I'm happy with the casting of the "movie" 25th anniversary edition.... I was VERY UNHAPPY with all the changes. The staging was awful, they could have done something with those annoying ear mikes going across their faces and rubbing against their clothes, etc. And... um... what happened with the Chandelier? It didn't raise up at the beginning and didn't fall after Il Moto. I don't get it. I hope they don't butcher Love Never Dies as badly.

  • If only I could sing like that...

  • This clip doesn't capture the effect on the big screen in the cinema - it is truly sensational. Sierra and Ramin are wonderful as are the rest of the cast. Being a film of a live show it puts you in the box seat with all the advantages of close-ups and the drama of the cinema screen. You'll love it and there is a very special ending with Webber and others - it'll knock you're socks off.

  • The mask is too big for him xD

  • There playing it in Australia at our Village Cinema's for a limited amount of time of 11 days I'M SOOOOO GOING SOOOOOO EXCITED MY EYES ARE ALREADY WATERING AT THIS THIS PERFORMANCE ITS HOW MUCH I LOVE IT, CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT ON THE BIG SCREEN AS NOT IN LONDON AND GET THE DVD SOOO EXCITED LOL U CANT TELL HEHEHE

  • @jump4jessica - Yes, I know that in the Broadway show she faints because he shows her the doll. I meant the part in the concert where Christine is standing there and then just randomly falls over for no reason.

  • I love this song, and I love his voice. My only objection to this is that he looks so uncomfortable in that suit, compared to his production in Les Miserables, where he seems so relaxed.

  • They both were superb in the 25th gala but I would still like to see a video of the entire original stage production. They made too many compromises for the RAH venue to suit me. I'm a purist and don't apologize for thinking ALW should stop hosing the fans with this overdone production that sacrifices quantity for quality. After raking in Billions, that's the least he could do to thank the fans.

  • @audiesgirl I meant to say "sacrifices quality for quantity" but you get my drift. What's next? POTO in Yankee Stadium or the Superdome where you can only see what's going on by watching the overhead projections? That's when I volunteer for the Punjab lasso.

  • Notice that this song is full of commands by the Phantom :D Since Ramin is singing it, I'm completely powerless and will obey every one of those commands!

  • If you were Christine, would you just go for him i wish i was her . :O xx

  • ohhhh the way he speaks "touch me, trust me". its just so thought provoking and intriguing. amazing!

  • I'm glad that they at least didn't do the random fainting bit that they did in the 25th anniversary concert. That looked so bad.

  • @TheBroadwayGeek4 they do that in the broadway production

  • His Voice touch me deep inside *_* so wounderfull !!!!!!!!

  • I want him like...NOW!!! *drool*

  • I want his babies likes... NOW!!!! The man is singing sex god *drool*

  • I saw this man in theater :)

  • my wish has come true that a red head would play christien GO READ HEAD'S <3

  • I just got back from seeing the 25th anniversary concert. Ramin was amazing!!!!! The most spectacular phantom i've seen, hands down.

  • @cboquist814

Me as well. I believe he's second only to Michael Crawford. But that's just one man's opinion.

    It was an amazing performance.

  • can ramin stay the phantom forever please? that would be lovely :)

  • @themusiclover137 He's stated that was his last performance as the Phantom ever - so if we want him back, we're going to have to do some serious begging.

  • @rebekah457 i know :( but i can still dream! :) i heard that his contract ended when they gave another man the part. i don't think he'll even do "love never dies" again :( but i loved him as enjorals and even though i never saw him live, i still think he's an amazing phantom

  • Wonderful to see the original cast come on to the stage at 25th...Why didn't Crawford sing??????

  • Excellent voice... Now it makes sense why Nick Jonas seemed so dull standing next to him in the Les Miz concert.

Perhaps he could give Nick some lessons on projecting his voice.

  • This was a good performance, I think. But he freakin' owned it when he did this song during the 25th anniversary performance. I could hardly breathe. Ramin and Sierra were both amazing. I can't wait for it to come out on dvd and I'm going to try to make it to one of the encore performances my theatre is having.

  • @tierneybeckett That's for sure! I saw it yesterday at the movie theater. My dream for the longest time was to see Ramin in POTO, but now I've got to a new dream: to have Ramin sing Music of the Night to me! Even though that probably will never happen, once the CD comes out, I'll be able to pretend that he is singing it to me! I wish I didn't have to wait until November 14 for it to come out.

  • @lilsisasu At least you only have to wait a month, we in the US have to wait until I think February.

  • @frenzyXprime I live in the US as well, but I haven't heard anything about it coming out later in the US. Still, I'm gonna get it off itunes.

  • @frenzyXprime

germany as well, this is so unfair!

  • @frenzyXprime I live in the US as well. But I'm gonna order it off the Phantom of the opera website,

  • @frenzyXprime oh I know! I was like oh great, it'll be here in November, but then i did some research and found out I've got to wait 4 months!!! NOOOO!!! oh well, it'll be worth the wait

  • @tierneybeckett I couldn't agree more! I wish my local cinema were holding encore showings! They were simply Amazing on Sunday! Ramin reduced me to tears (again!) and I don't cry easy! Can't wait for the DVD!

  • @tierneybeckett I agree completely! He was absoutely stunning in the anniversary concert! I had no idea it would be him doing the part, I didn't really know much about him from before, but he really blew me away. Shame, now whenever I hear other versions of this song I keep comparing them to his.

  • @tierneybeckett The 25th anniversary was one of the best performances I've seen. His voice is just always so incredible. I'm looking forward to the DVD too. :)

  • @tierneybeckett

I just came from the encore performance after seeing it sunday, and yes he did rock it like never before.

I was in tears when Colm and John-Owen and the other past phantoms came on stage for Music of the Night and the titular song. The very end of the piece with Ramin paying homage to Michael had me streaming buckets.

Amazing music. Amazing performers. (needless to say I already preordered the bluray)

  • @DrStrangefate I too cried buckets when Ramin gave Michael his props. I know that Ramin's favorite Phantom is Colm, but he basically gave credit where it was due with that move and I love him for it.

  • @tierneybeckett ikr i was watching it streamed were you because there was a BIG BLACK BUTTON on the candle during the part when Raoul gets captured it goes CLICK lol

  • @tierneybeckett Totally agree! I saw the film of the production at the cinema, and went back to watch it again the next night. Could've watched it a million times over, but sadly that was the last night :'( Made me cry

  • If I could play the role of Christine in this song but once, while he sang this... I should be exactly where I longed to be

  • I love his night at the ending it's so soft

  • I'll bet the phantom was the only one who made you feel as though you were loved and accepted for your lovely voice! If you felt THAT special, why didn't you stay with the phantom? WHY Christine? WHY?

  • My favorite version of the phantom! He was Raoul when I saw him and he was incredible!

  • John owen jones is better; the only phantom for me

  • @perfectbynature007 Nahhh Crawford, he owned it :-)

  • Hm ? Ramin is one of my favorite's, but this version of "the music of the night", ....... sorry , i'm not touched.

  • Hmm, "Till I hear you Sing" was amazing, but this... it just doesn't sound deep enough for my liking. He sounds more like a "happy-phantom." guess I'll pass on watching it in the movie theater. Still... better than Gerard Butler :P

  • 1:50 DIES.

  • hmm.. he's a little sharp. but awesome still =)

  • Where is John Owen Jones when you need him??? So bummed he won't be doing the 25th Anniversary performance. He's only been doing the role longer than anyone in London!!!! Webber probably just wants to promote his Love Never Dies co-stars....or apologize for conceiving of such a crap show.

  • @GrobanPhreak11284 this very much disappoints me, JOJ is arguably a much better performer than karimloo and in addition a better phantom mmm.. not good

  • as the phantom ramin is simply amazing.

  • And to think, he also played Chistine's father in the movie... FACT.

  • Holy crap, I didn't realize he also played Enjolras in the 25th Anniversary concert of Les Mis!

  • Ramin and Michael Crawford are the two best Phantoms ever!

  • @punkviolingirl Ahem...Anthony Warlow?

  • Don't get me wrong, karimloo has a very astounding voice. But when I listen to him singing this or any other phantom numbers, I just don't feel any emotion that the character, the phantom, would actually be conveying. Now I understand each actor presence his characters in different ways then others, but I do not feel the mysteriousness and provocative nature that is supposed to be the phantom. I hear a young whinny man who just wants to be noticed.

  • You want me to touch you? You want me to trust you? Well, if you insist ...

  • And me too!

  • I loved every second of this <3

  • another sweet-caramel voice((( boring

  • Awful :(((((((((((((

  • I never knew Ramin did phantom! YAY now he is in two of my favorite musicals!! Les Miserables and phantomof the opera

  • Just love hi "cold" at 1:18. Good God, it gives me goose bumps. :P

  • *_____*

  • He's good. Will be excellent once he begins to live the role. Need a younger, more innocent Christine with less bossom exposed. This old one is too 'experienced'.

  • @voyagersystem Gina Beck and Sofia Escobar are perfect in that matter. Haha

  • So I think I fell in love when he held out "cold" in "cold, unfeeling light", and then every held note after that. :) And yes, the "touch me, trust me" did me in as well. I think I would give anything to see him perform live as the Phantom!

  • well i'm a huge fan of gerard butler's performance in the 2004 movie version...in my opinion no one can ever even come close to his brilliant emotional performance...he may not have been a professional singer, but he had me completely hypnotized, and his performance was extremely believable, unlike pretty much all the others. I thought I could never love another Phantom, but I have to say, Ramin's amazing. I'd go see him as the Phantom any day. Every day. lol

  • @sarahkat17

    what you said!

  • as much as i think Ramin is amazing in love never dies, i just really wish Michael Crawford would have done Love Never Dies too. I really want to know what it would be like to hear Michael sing "Til i hear you sing"

  • has anyone esle realized that Ramin looks different as the Phantom now than he does as the Phantom in Love Never Dies...maybe it's just me...

  • He's married....how....lucky lady..

  • Ramin <3 <3 <3

  • To anyone who loves Ramin please FRIEND ME!!! I AM OBSESSED WITH HIM!!!!!

  • Something about Ramin has a Michael Crawfordy kinda feel

  • holy smokes did Micheal Crawford just waltz into this guys voice, goodness, Ramin your my hero

  • @sesshyforever21 If Michael Crawford got anywhere near Ramin's voice I'd have to shoot MC.
