I think Quiet Places, the album, was released to fulfill the Vanguard contract because she was so angry with Vanguard about their failure to break a hit in the US (she had an international hit with "Soldier Blue," but not here, and then radio stations were playing "Mister Can't You See," but Vanguard didn't get it out on a single until too late, though it barely scraped the charts) and then she signed with MCA. Or so I read in _Rolling Stone_ back in the early 70s. So QP was made up of leftover

she kind of looks like alfalfa,.....sings a little like him too....i think they would have crooned. i heard ol carl sweitzergot a little wound in later life maybe ITS ALFALFA ON ACID!! or im on acid and all this is just my maginations! but this is trademark alfalfa falsetto----roger that spanky! There is a movie out now made here at the university of kansas that went to sundance and made by the same group as CSA- confederate states of america-- just more documentation and demonstration of ...
she also has a built in lambber-that kind of quivering baaah- I think she's great and real,if she isnt in the hall of fame ,no she has to be ..plays,writes and croons- this song is from JR in 1962!!! how awesome--I wish he would have done some klan songs,we will never run out of dispicible naked apes..always clutching a bible or "sacred" book in the other hand.....
What a great clip! Johnny Cash is so charming with her. I also love his segment with Cass Elliot.
Quiet Places is one of my favorite albums. It's surprising that it and the title song wasn't released until 1973. This clip is from around 1969, and the song is in her 1971 songbook.
Oh she is still beautiful! You must hear her new album Running for the Drum..see the video "No no, Keshagesh"...she's just so great. She still performs too..and I hope you and I get to see her someday.
She should duet with Jello Biafra.

She is wonderful and Johnny was a great great man. He was one of the few who admitted his Native heritage and told of the atrocities against them

Great album. My favorite from it is "The Jewels of Honalei." Or was that on "She Used to Wanna Be a Ballerina"?

Jewels of Hanalei was on Quiet Places.

I've loved Buffy for years, beginning in my teen years when I uttered the same sentiment as djamalk. Lister to other wonderful songs by Buffy!
