The clip looks like the roads in Holland. I believe it's allowed to go 140 km/h there. Here in Norway, the limit is 100 km/h. Be it 100 or 140, you have at least a chance to slow down enough to not his that swerving car in front of you. At speeds like 240 km/h it's bye-bye.

My buddy has Mini S , i've driven the car couple times and it doesnt feel fast at all, he raced it on a 1/4 mile, lost to stock VW Vr6. Expected more from this car.
He wasn't goin' So fast.. And i don't believe He felt The power of that mini, If u want to prove and to see what ur mini cooper can do... Well.. u've to go in a track. Just there u can feel What a real Pilot feels.

headlights and tailights are different, longer, and the hood is more rounded off now before it had hump on both sides leading up to the headlights, basically it looks like a chubby mini cooper now
both r53 n r56 look the same pretty much, but i prefer my r53 interior...the center dash looks alot nicer more classic and that supercharged engine just takes it away.
I love seeing that speedo pegged all the way over like that! :) How did she handle up there? I think they need to put higher speedo in the cooper s though from the video she seemed to still have a bit of steam to go even faster.
i've found out... R 53 made from 2002~2006, supercharged, not as powerful as r 56, heavier steering, bettter handling... R 56 made from 2006 onwards, turbo charged, lighter steering...does not have better handling than r 53
lighter steering? really? My brother has the supercharged one, R53 i guess, and the steering is heavy as shit. And that's why i enjoy driving it. Too bad the made it lighter. I hope they didnt make it much lighter. In R56 i think the suspension is a bit softer too. About power R53 is very powerfull after 4k RPM all the way to the 7k limiter but drinks fuel like a giant. Its very powerfull but you cant notice it that much cause it has less torque than R56. I think they are even fast

Yes I did mean all of those huge vehicles. These monster are all over American roads, with soccer moms talking on their cell phones driving them. I've been hit by one (side swiped on the higheway) so I can say what I like about it. I seriously looked at the mini, but my better judgement told me to get a larger vehicle. So I got a VW GTI instead (much larger), that car saved my life along with God's hand. I'll say it again, Mini's are great toy cars not DD's.
I drive a 2004 MINI Cooper S, and about a week ago was hit from behind at around 30 mph. The car got pretty messed up, but I was perfectly fine inside- not a scratch. These little guys can take a beating, and I love them!!
Its just fro aesthetics. It has a front-mounted intercool. The 07 models are turbo-chargered vs the previous superchargered version (which have a functional scoop for the top-mounted intercooler).
What have they done to the centre console? If you walk in to ASDA and find a stereo for £19.99, it will look like the controls on this car. It would feel cheap and tacky on a car half this price.
How is a 175hp turbocharged, direct-injected inline 4 not technologically advanced? Not to mention its overboost function that boosts the torque more when needed. Does the GTI have an overboost function? No. Don't get me wrong the 2.0 turbo with 200hp in the GTI is great too, but I think they are about equal. Love the MINI and GTI.
2002-2006 Was a supercharged 1.6 liter making a 163-168 hp. 2007-present uses a twin-scroll turbocharged 1.6. It makes more hp and torque and gets better gas mileage.
but you can buy a 2003-2006 for much less than a 2007+ and get a 2 liter (stock block, been bored out to make it a 2 l from a 1.6) and have a eaton tvs1380 super charger thrown on it (same as on the corvette zr1) with an exhaust not that much louder than a john cooper works, which gives you tons more hp (there hoping to hit 250 conservatively, while the spiced up version will be over 300 Whp (not at the crank which is where the stock mini s 175 hp is rated)

My '07 cooper handles amazing at 90+ mph. My wife was actually very comfortable and those types of things usually get her nervous. She was very relaxed and pretty comfortable watching that big speedometer(sp?) go that high.
I own a cooper which I bought back in 2002 when they were new. People under estimate how fast a mini can go..(trust me i should know, many a golf driver had tried their luck with me and failed miserably.)Common knowlege is the UK 02 plate has been plagued with problems and I have fallen victim. I need sum help fellas, I can either get a Scion TC or a MINI Cooper S for my bday/graduation present but im not sure which would be a better choice. I want a sporty car with good gas mileage plus a good engine with good speed. What would be the better choice, the Scion TC or the Mini Copper S..?? well me personally i would go wit the mini. They have a better build quality, they're quicker, more fun and there more rare, so u wouldnt be seein them around a lot. Plus u get more attention wit the mini.
do you mean the scion tc trd? not that it makes much difference, it cant carve like a mini s. id say it depends on whether or not you want room to haul people around, or whether youd rather be able to go 90 down a winding two lane road. ive been in both cars and they both have a nice interior, but even the supercharged scion couldnt keep up with the bmw mini. and besides, bmw just sounds nicer.
A mini cooper s of course...cmon, it has got style and character, and is very good when it comes to the gas mileage. The Scion is so common, like any car you might see driven by youngsters. The MCR is classless, bloody fast and it has a beautiful interior. I would definitely go for the mini. Also, you have free service by BMW.
P.S. The scion really looks like a Hyundai coupe (or Tiburon)...yikes...since you are an American you have another good reason to buy a mini..Its rare as people said already and you get half the price than what we pay in the UK. I promise you, you wont regret it.
you are right. mini cooper is a economy car and fast enough.camaro is an american car and fuel is cheaper than turkey in america :) i could buy a chevrolet c5 if fuel is cheap in turkey.
Nothing was wrong with the supercharged but the new 1.6 isn't the old 1.6 Pentagon. The new one comes from the 1.6 diesel HDi Peugeot. BMW found this engine very well conceived. So BMW signed a contract with Peugeot. Peugeot give the engine and BMW transforms it from a diesel to a petrol engine.
ha i got a 07 S recently in yello w/ sport pkg. and its soo much better than any of these so called pocket rockets. 0-60 is quicker than the Si and GTi and higher top speed. weighs less and eats alot less gas, yes better fuel economy than a honda. perfect for haulin' ass and savin' gas, at least for our shitty economy.
I just spanked one of these on the highway about an hour ago. I have to admit it did have some pep to it though. He pulled out pretty hard onto the highway, I was behind him, blew by him at about 85-90 or so in 3rd, and then again blew by him in 2nd after working around 2 cars near a stop-light .. it had a bunch of ricer decals and stuff written on it .. so it was way too tempting not to show him up lol ;)

Its on the Autobahn long stretches of it don't have a Speed Limit, and when they do, the cops are quite flexible when it comes to that.

My '07 cooper handles amazing at 90+ mph. My wife was actually very comfortable and those types of things usually get her nervous. She was very relaxed and pretty comfortable watching that big speedometer(sp?) go that high.

I own a cooper which I bought back in 2002 when they were new. People under estimate how fast a mini can go..(trust me i should know, many a golf driver had tried their luck with me and failed miserably.)Common knowlege is the UK 02 plate has been plagued with problems and I have fallen victim. For all new potentcial mini drivers please do your reasearch as this car can set you back a lot of money when it goes wrong. Apart from that this is on lengedary car. LONG LIVE THE MINI!

has 4 cilynders, and this is turbocharger version, the last version had supercharger, I like more the last version, but the new dont has problem. I dont liked, the point only is that has 15cm more of length, and 5cm more wide than old version, i know it,due to the european norms of security

I have owned the classic Mini, an Austin 1300 (Mini sister) now have a 2005 Cooper with a new Cooper S on order... Don't criticise a British built success story. Without BMW there would be no MINI, no jobs and everything else that goes with it

I need sum help fellas, I can either get a Scion TC or a MINI Cooper S for my bday/graduation present but im not sure which would be a better choice. I want a sporty car with good gas mileage plus a good engine with good speed. What would be the better choice, the Scion TC or the Mini Copper S..?? well me personally i would go wit the mini. They have a better build quality, they're quicker, more fun and there more rare, so u wouldnt be seein them around a lot. Plus u get more attention wit the mini.

do you mean the scion tc trd? not that it makes much difference, it cant carve like a mini s. id say it depends on whether or not you want room to haul people around, or whether youd rather be able to go 90 down a winding two lane road. ive been in both cars and they both have a nice interior, but even the supercharged scion couldnt keep up with the bmw mini. and besides, bmw just sounds nicer.

A mini cooper s of course...cmon, it has got style and character, and is very good when it comes to the gas mileage. The Scion is so common, like any car you might see driven by youngsters. The MCR is classless, bloody fast and it has a beautiful interior. I would definitely go for the mini. Also, you have free service by BMW.

P.S. The scion really looks like a Hyundai coupe (or Tiburon)...yikes...since you are an American you have another good reason to buy a mini..Its rare as people said already and you get half the price than what we pay in the UK. I promise you, you wont regret it.

Nothing was wrong with the supercharged but the new 1.6 isn't the old 1.6 Pentagon. The new one comes from the 1.6 diesel HDi Peugeot. BMW found this engine very well conceived. So BMW signed a contract with Peugeot. Peugeot give the engine and BMW transforms it from a diesel to a petrol engine.

ha i got a 07 S recently in yello w/ sport pkg. and its soo much better than any of these so called pocket rockets. 0-60 is quicker than the Si and GTi and higher top speed. weighs less and eats alot less gas, yes better fuel economy than a honda. perfect for haulin' ass and savin' gas, at least for our shitty economy.

I just spanked one of these on the highway about an hour ago. I have to admit it did have some pep to it though. He pulled out pretty hard onto the highway, I was behind him, blew by him at about 85-90 or so in 3rd, and then again blew by him in 2nd after working around 2 cars near a stop-light .. it had a bunch of ricer decals and stuff written on it .. so it was way too tempting not to show him up lol ;)
