No actual "country" music has been popular the 70s, it is in fact nothing but really crappy pop music now-a-days. Bluegrass is a timeless form of American folk music which derives from Scottish and Irish folk music.

I'm not really sure what kind of bluegrass you guys were listening to, but bluegrass usually has more energy than ANY other type of music I listen to. I have watched a decent amount of young turks videos and I'm sorry, but this is just sad, you display no knowledge of the music, then instead of respectfully moving on and letting it be, you keep making stupid comments. Insulting a particular musical style is hurtful to people because they feel akin to the artists. Any style of music should be respected because music is supposed to make people feel good, isn't it? I think this guy is embarrassed over his ignorance and doesn't quite know how to handle it, but the insults and profanities do nothing to promote people's perception of the bluegrass community. We know he's wrong for saying dumb stuff, but would Alison approve of the responses. I think not.

No actual "country" music has been popular the 70s, it is in fact nothing but really crappy pop music now-a-days. Bluegrass is a timeless form of American folk music which derives from Scottish and Irish folk music.
In short, Allison Krauss has more musical ability in her pinky than any post-2000 pop star has in their entire body. She deserves all of her Grammys.
