@MsBrucejuice It's "quick of a knife.." I always thought it was night too until I saw a copy of the hand written lyrics. Thanks for posting all these great videos!
@Lonewolf3165 I found it, this lyrics refer to the early live version played on 5 Febr 1975 at the Main point and has been played before the release of the BTR album version (according to springsteenlyrics)
The piano opening gives me goosebumps. This is the best example of telling story set to music. We shouldn't forget Danny. R.I.P. to two giants of music.
@willthis1do It's beautiful, I'm really very sure that everyone who loves Bruce and THE E STREET BAND, especially with Danny and Clarence always will remember them and whatever happened in the future, they always will be in our hearts forever!
@lassew1001 Thank you, yes, it's such a big loss, Big Man will be missed by everyone, in the first place by his huge family and Bruce and The E Streeters and his fans, but remember him who he was, The Big Man, loved by so many, his music will never die!!!!
I saw Bruce & Co in 75 and again in 78 when my date had second row seats right in front of the Big Man at Hampton Roads Coliseum . Clarence - I don't know what kind of life you lead - good bad or a little of both, but anyone who plays like that has redemption in his soul. Gabriel's got a new sax player in his band and heaven's gonna rock!
Two and a half days on a bus from one side of Australia to the other, the show the next night and then back on the bus the next morning.
I had waited over a decade to see the man I knew would be the king of the world and of all the shows and concerts I've ever seen this was the most important.
They played for 4 hours but this was not in the set that night.
My favourite song of all time is Born To Run. This is number 2.
I saw Clarence in Oakland , CA in 1983 and will never forget what an amazing, loving presence the Big Man exuded ,.....blow daddy blow and rest in sweet peace.
i will never forget when they played this song in Barcelona a l'Estadi Olimpic on May 2003, for me this is the biggest memory that i will bring to myself on seeing Bruce and the E street band live...unbelievable and inredibly epic. Clarence saxo's solo is one of the biggest momens in rock music forever. Go on Clarence!! we want to hear it live one more time!! get well!!
I've seen Bruce live 5 or 6 times..Nobody puts on a better show than Bruce!! His energy is boundless, every concert he did at least 4 encores! You feel it in your soul! Thankyou for the great memories...
Thank you soooo much for posting these amazing videos. I truly WAS THERE for the Cap Center show in 1980. It was my second time seeing Bruce in concert. Watching these videos reminded me of why his music really defines who I am. The words of Bruce define who I am at my core. Even today, thirty-plus years after that first concert in 1978, I still tell people, "if you really want to 'get who I am', listen to the words and music of Bruce Springsteen." Thank you again for these wonderful memories.
This is just about the best of the best. A friend of mine's father owned a small hotel in Asbury Park, N.J. We drove 500 miles to visit for a weekend. Saturday night Mike says let's go out to a bar I know with live music, and listen to a guy who's really good, and he's local from here. We went out and listened to Bruce, before anybody knew who Bruce was. This was 36 years ago, and I knew then he was going to the top.

I can't believe these videos of Bruce and of people like Jackson Browne are popping up on You Tube! I practically lived at the Cap. Centre from maybe 1973 -82 to hear All the great bands there, and always wondered about where the video tape would all end up! I saw Bruce play a club (God, I was a waaay underaged gal 14 at the Cellar Door, I think it was-.. ) Thanks!
@4rainbowed : you were one lucky underaged 14-year-old! I'm with ya; I love how all these videos and bootlegs are surfacing in this internet age. I sneaked in my little hand-held recorder and have a great two-night set of bootlegs from concerts he did when I was in the Army @ Ft. Bragg; he was in Greensboro, NC and I was there both nights. Does NOT get any better than a live Boss show with full E-Street band! Listening to this in honor of THE BIG MAN, CLARENCE CLEMONS! Get well soon!
