  • Irving Penn made beautiful pictures of items he found in the streets of NY...now the prints fetch $10K or more...

  • Only in America

  • What could be more meaningful? Than "Micro time capsules" containing the discarded fragments of a disposable world. Kinda makes you feel right at home.

  • pretty cool :P

  • That is genious. So simple, but awesome.

  • Gives an all new meaning to "One man's trash is another man's treasure." XD

  • I like the idea, but $50? a tad expensive don't you think?

  • We need some more Ella Morton reports, assuming Rocketboom has managed to continue retaining her considerable talents.

Also, Rocketboom should advertise/sponsor on NPR.

  • @ProNorden NYC reports are being posted on the main Rocketbom channel. And big-ups to NPR. Ira Glass is my homeboy.

  • wow

  • This is so cool... and it saves the enviroment!

  • More videos please.

  • That girl should do porn, I am already sick of jerking off to her face only.

  • @ZehAnonymous

Agree with that. I especially liked her in that Elmo clip. She can tickle my balls anytime.

  • @ZehAnonymous Makes sense. I'm sick of facing off to you jerks.

  • It feels like you've given up on this separate channels thing, i've seen videos on rocketboom daily that should be on know your meme or rocketboom nyc and your rocketboom nyc host is currently on holiday in Australia. A general statement of intent as to what is going on would be nice.

  • art? where is the art?.... ¬¬

  • It's worth noting he's not selling garbage, he's selling art that uses garbage as raw materials, the same way a sculptor is not selling clay, wood, or whatever the material used.

@cricketbat08 i completely agree on Ella's eyes, they look amazing. That coupled with her microexpressions and the way her hair falls makes her look enchanting.

  • This is ridiculous. Gignac admitted that this was an experiment to show that people are suckers. The man is not an idiot; the people paying $50 for his "art" are.

  • I have seen this already... about 2 months ago!

  • Ella is the smartest and most interesting girl at Rocketboom.

  • This reminds me of something somebody started a long time ago here in Boston, bottling Boston Harbor water and selling it.

  • Love the attitude this guy has. He obviously knows that it's... garbage he's selling, he seems surprised that anyone is buying it.

Can't blame him though... if people want to call that art and pay good money for it. Let them. I wish I had thought of this first. ;)

  • If anything, what Rocketboom is trying to do through this 'encore' week is get their old videos off of the old 'Rocketboom' channel and put them on the new segregated network channels.

  • I think it's a great idea :D

It's sad that garbage seems to be more visually pleasing than most of today's art.

  • I would of bought it for $20.

    But $50? Yikes.

  • He just created a job!

  • This is great. It could've been approached really cynically or with nothing but praise, and this was neither. Ella just asked this guy what he did and why he did it. And hey, I see nothing wrong with selling something like this if it's something people want, either as 'art' or to remind them of NYC. I take pictures of weird stuff, some people buy or keep weird stuff. Cool.

...also, I'm not minding these encores. I actually hadn't seen this one before, which is probably obvious.

  • when the price goes up, even crap becomes something people want. Best example? Apple computers.

  • @Rundfunk90 Amen.

  • New York, the city of the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

  • Btw, people who don't like the encore videos (videos that are being re-uploaded to this new channel) shouldn't watch videos that have the word 'Encore' in the title.

    Problem solved.

  • I guess I was wrong. I've always thought that the worst garbage we export was our movies and television shows.

  • i saw this already LOL

  • I have the strong feeling that this was already covered by rocketboom nyc

  • That's a great idea. I think I will collect green pine cones and sell them as Porcupine eggs. #LOL

  • i think $25 was a better price, but it still is a really interesting concept

  • They can do whatever they want with their own channel. you dont like it, too bad. ROFL.

  • i saw this video before! the same happened on knowyourmeme. why?

  • When was this originally posted? That man is very shrewd. Also, Ella's eyes look totally amazing at the end of this!!

  • @cricketbat08 I think this was posted mid-summer, (2010).

  • @cricketbat08 I agree.

  • Another great and true story - it's not the content that matters, it's the package!

  • I guess this is a recycle video about recycled stuff.

  • The point of these encores is allowing any new subscribers to the channels to see older content not found on it

Which could have been completely avoided if they just didn't split the channels, which considering how often the Daily Channel post NYC content its something they are regretting too

  • REPOST!!!

  • That guy is pretty cool, cleaning the streets of new york and selling the crap to people for money. Although i can understand how people would think its artsy I'd slap anyone who tried to buy one for me.

  • wuts the point of encore?.....

  • Whats the point of these encores? I do enjoy watching old videos but I go back to them, right?

  • @NOSFERATUalu true

  • why.......................... :S
