I am sick of multiculturalism - you cant watch a tv programme or advert with out seeing a foreigner. The programme midsummer murders was told of for having an all white cast. I dont hate other races but im sick of being force fed all there bull shit and been listed as a racist for not including them in something. Multiculturalism was meant to be 1 Black or Indian on a road not an entire town
As I view it. The issue is not about race, or indeed religion. It is about people belonging to their surrounding society and sharing in responsibility, power and making a contribution to the country in which they live. Our British forefathers fought for our rights and freedom it is not for us or our government to fritter it way into insignuificance in the name of diversity. I love people for who they are and because of their actions. If these are honourable they have my respect. simple.
The nations of the world occupy discrete, not continuous territories. The resources of the world are finite, not infinite. People who believe in mass immigration or who pin their hopes on it do not understand these truths.
I like the idea of mass immigration to the US. Recently I went to San Francisco and saw the Chinatown there. The residents of that neighborhood were hard working and very nice. They sold great food for very cheap and I saw all sorts of exotic fruit and items. I'm sure if I went to China, I would see almost the same kind of thing. It was amazing to see Chinatown, a place where another world suddenly appeared in my home country. I think it would be a shame if everyone there integrated.
@QLIQLIable You've no problem with a Chinatown. What about a Somalitown, Mexitown, Syriatown, Turktown, Egyptown, Albanitown, Russiatown, Bulgaritown, Jamaicatown and Pakitown too? In every town. And no Ameritown anywhere - because that'd be racist.
@MartinJWillett I do not think that there will be that much mass immigration that will turn the US into a minority American country. And the children of the immigrants will probably know several languages and help bring different cultures together. Americatown should be a mixture of people from all over the world getting along. I've seen a Muslim wearing a traditional outfit with the cap and beard walk right by a hasidic jew without any conflicts. That's an example of multiculturalism.
If you have a city with 60% of one tolerant group and lots of minorities with no other group exceeding 5% you will have a good city. If you have three roughly equal thirds you will probably have a violent shithole.
2000-2010: European-Americans in California declined by 1 million due to white flight.
2010: Mexican-Americans and Latinos are 40%.
2050: (by the Californian governor's projections) European-Americans will be reduced to 25% and Mexican-Americans will increase to 60%.(by other projections 70%)
Welcoming immigrants is one thing, this is insanity.
I am concerned that our british values and identity are being eroded by a constant onslaught of people wanting to retain their own laws, values and beliefs that they bring with them from their own home countries cultures. As we are a democratic nation which promotes free speech this leaves us open to people taking advantage of our good nature and we are continually manipulated both politicaly and socially. People need to speak openly about the immigration agenda with out fear of reprisals.
@puddleducky50 oh, but you need re-education. you need to read marxist newspapers. 'our good nature'? no. you see, we are guilty of imperialism. the poor people from the desert are the victims, and they are the innocent and good natured ones. it's pricks like you who have so much at their expence and who are so selfish so as to refuse to share who are the real problem. we must stop thinking small in terms of the national state and start working for the good of the planet, you fascist.
I don't think people would care about the number of immigrants so much if there wasn't a financial cost. As you mentioned with the Huguenots bringing their wealth with them.
Most of the complaints around immigrants seem to center on welfare programs and state education. No welfare programs, no public schools, no handouts, far fewer complaints about immigrants.
@vioscios That's the choice. You can have open borders if you give immigrants fuck all but the opportunity to take work if they can find it but when you offer the benefits of a welfare state (as well as or instead of working, it matters not) to people who come from the third world is it any wonder that they want to come?
@vioscios Interesting this is what "moderate" Islamic states like the UAE do. They welcome most people who are working professionals (as residents, never citizens). They don't spend a penny (or Fil in their case) on foreigners. Every person who goes there understands this and only goes if they have a half decent job and can look after themselves. And that's why their crime rate is lower than the UK, and why aside from a few tribal Arab racists and Islamists most of the locals have little problem
Well said. Very good points of view. We are witnessing the mass extinction of the western culture and identity. The tertiary boundary we can refer to in the future will be the populist left ideology sold to to the people by an irresponsible media and self destructive bureaucracy. How very sad.
in my oppinion, imigrants should be given a time period to learn our language and to get a job. They should then be assessed and sent back if they have not reached a certain level of integration in that time. I am sick of seeing people coming over here and taking our social housing when we already had homeless people living on the street. FGS we are only a damn island! there is loads of space elswhere in the world.
@puddleducky50 Yes, conditional citizenship, revocable after five years if no clear efforts to integrate have been observed. If we go back after four and a half years to find them wearing pyjamas in the street and making themselves look distinctive, living on the dole or working for a company which only employs people of their ethnicity they should have their citizenship rescinded.
@puddleducky50 "in my oppinion, imigrants should be given a time period to learn our language and to get a job" I'm still wondering why that isn't a requirement. If I was to move to a country where English isn't spoken by the vast majority, learning the native language would be a must for me along w/ learning the culture.
A key question to any potential migrant should be: Do you consider your intended country of choice to hold a morally superior cultural, legal and political system to your religion? Don't allow them to just answer YES, by way of bullshit cop-out. Get them to write at least a page on what they really think - a thousand words at the very least. A negative essay response means they stay in whateverastan. No devout ass-lifter wannabe colonizer could praise the West for a thousand words.
I am left - wing but even i see that considering the current economic system and especially considering the current financial situation, that immigration as is cannot continue without having a detrimental effect upon our society (for example the 1st 2nd 3rd generation of un-assimilated immigrants whom formed the larger part of the recent riots) and would fully endorse a system like australia "we are running out of doctors" "then let qualified immigrant doctors in" its that simple
Also you can KEEP Germaine Greer! We dont want her here! She thinks shes TOO good for her own country! No 1 take her seriously anyway! Shes delusional!
id like to see just a statistics video some day on this. its interesting but id like souces cited rather than just numbers thrown around. youd probably get better counter debates as well just a thought. probably thinking "do your own web search you lazy prick" to which i say "make me"
@MsReefmaster It isn't about numbers it is about people and how they live their lives. Every immigrant who takes a job or welfare but has no intention of learning the language or taking any part in the country's life or adapting in any way at all is taking the piss. One is too many.
It's interesting that you made this video because I was thinking about this subject recently, it's become somewhat unavoidable. I from now on will adopt a two point checklist whenever this issue arises;
1. Does the country they are leaving have a welfare state?
2. Does the country they are migrating to have a welfare state?
This would appear to be the two most obvious considerations when it comes to modern migration.
@every116 I would argue that they are 'Fundamentalists' rather than radicals. The ideal of a Muslim is to emulate Muhammad and once he 'discovered' Islam he lived off stolen booty from Islamic raids, he didn't work another day in his life. They follow this example via proxy by stealing tax-payers money, sucking it out of them through benefits.
Just thought of something: That stupid fucking junkie, coughlan616, once made a video in which he made fun of being british. That assholes sees nothing good in belonging to a nation. And that made me think of Belgium. Belgium has no common nationality, there are the french speaking people in Valonium in the south and the flemish speaking people in the north. And that country is tearing it self apart because they have no unity in form of nationality. Nationality is a very good thing.
Colonization, it's only wrong when we do it. And for a number of people, everything is everyone else's fault apart from theirs. These is the only things I picked up upon from the recent riots, and I knew them already.
Unfortunately, the practice of so-called arranged marriages seems to be the norm rather than the exception in many immigrant communities, continuing with pretty much undiminished force even in 3rd and 4th generation. Some years back, a study surveying a group of Turkish/Kurdish immigrants and their descendants in a Copenhagen suburb showed that about 95% of marriages in that group resulted in the wife/husband moving from Turkey to Denmark, with no significant change from 1st to 3rd generation.
@detersgumig How anyone can not see that this is unacceptable on so many levels is simply beyond me - I mean, even those who are comfortable with the back door immigration should at least have the decency to be concerned about the rights and well-being of the young men and women who are the victims of this kind of human trade ...
Thanks for sending it, and if I read that correctly the word "reunification" to describe these situations seems intentionally misleading. You would imagine that what had happened was the husband left Turkey, and was unable to take his wife, and eventually she is reunited with him. When the fact is the man was living in Denmark, went back to Turkey, got married, and then petitioned the government to allow her to immigrate.
@TheNakedAtheist This is also clearly common in Britain, with about half the Asian couples I see each day it is blindingly obvious that only one went to school here. Often she has a perfect local English accent, you can tell which town she is from, and he can just about manage thank you and good bye - but he's in western dress and she is in a niqab. Arranged marriages for immigration are an evil manipulation of parental power which damage individuals and society.
The information detersgumig sent me indicates that 145 Turkish men who emigrated to Denmark between 1970, and 1998 were directly responsible for another 1,341 Turkish people immigrating. Even 60 of 62 third generation obtained spouses from Turkey, and as I mentioned in the comment above they call it "reunification" even though the husband, and wife were never really unified, in the sense one might assume is meant, in the first place.
@TheNakedAtheist I wish somebody would have the courage to make similar studies in Britain, I am sure similar stories would come out. The people concerned know about it, they know how one camp bed in a mill town was all the foothold needed to syphon an entire village into Britain over a forty year period. Each single decision to let in a spouse seems reasonable, but the pattern is one giant insulting gesture to the spirit of the law.
It really is a racket. As a result of this, and similar issues with Pakistani migrants, new restrictions were add to the "reunification policy" including age, income, and housing size. In response more than a thousand Pakistanis from Denmark established residence in Swedish border city of Malmö (on the strength of European Union laws on freedom of movement for workers) and applied for family reunification there, taking advantage of the laxity of the Swedish laws in this regard.
@MartinJWillett-I wish somebody would have the courage to make similar studies in Britain
Gee I wonder why they don't. It's funny how polls, and studies that show Muslims in general to be more religiously extreme, or more supportive of terrorism than many would like to believe, are almost invariably characterized as flawed, or untrustworthy. Even those done by Gallup, or Pew. Of course they have no problem with the rare polls, or studies that supports their beliefs.
I am from the third world, and I agree with you. Most of those illegal immigrants are poorly skilled people with little education which makes them very unwelcome anywhere and nothing positive can be expected from their presence. More strict laws and more control of the borders should be implemented.
I can't bring my Russian girlfriend over for a simple trip, and she can't come even if I get married, because her job is not good enough in Russia. We have been together for six years keeping it together with frequent trips and skype. Your rule that you can only marry someone in the country to move to after you get here is immoral to me. I think I have the right to maryy and bring here who the bloody hell I like. Other than that I don't have a problem with the video
Common sense. Again, I agree 100% but couldn't have said it better. The truth is it's sad that all this actually needs to be explained.
Also, I was unaware that Huguenot immigration is used as a pro-immigration argument by British immigrationists... as a Frenchman, I feel compelled to say sorry about that ;), even if their argument is invalid.
@Wotanraven Most leftists are vaguely aware that there was a "mass" immigration of Huguenots at some time, and nobody knows who they are now so it stands to reason that they must have assimilated successfully and therefore they are proof that ALL immigrants in all eras will ALWAYS assimilate. They never bother to check the numbers involved or the time period or to contemplate just what ideal immigrants skilled French Protestants, with the capital of their liquidated assets, would have been.
also, i often hear that mass immigration is a natural part of globalization. in leftist thinking it's 'primitive' and 'parochial' thinking to consider your nation or even state as something that can be kept in any form of isolation. they have made up their mind that we must open up, think globally, save the planet and so on. and we must never assume our values are superior. in fact, we probably have a lot to learn from other cultures - if we can just open our minds up and learn tolerance.
yes, but we willk have to agree to be colonized as long as we assume that all cultures and religions are equally good, and that pluralism is good. on these premises colonization is in fact enrichment. now you go and try to make the leftists change part of their ideological core. i don't think they are capable of changing their attitude.
Still, a lot of the descendants of immigrants still see themselves as belonging first and foremost to their ancestors nation, race or culture rather than the nation their ancestors emigrated to, regardless of wether or not their ancestors brought benefits to the nation.
I wouldn't call it rape, I think that's kind of insulting to actual rape victims, but colonization is a better name. Here's what people say: we don't want 'economic' refugees, but people who flee from war or political oppression are welcome. But by that criterion, who is NOT welcome ? It seems by the criterion they set, anyone in the entire world has a right to immigrate to the Netherlands (for example). But our country can't house 6 billion people. It's madness to suggest the entire world..
@sogghartha should be welcomed into our country, or the west in general. Immigration isn't a solution anyway. It doesn't make the country they left any better, nor does it make the country they immigrate to any better. It's a lose-lose situation.
@sogghartha Rape isn't defined by the sex it is defined by the lack of consent. An act which should be beautiful has been made foul and ugly by ignoring the right to say no. Inviting in a guest or a lover is good, having somebody just have their way with you anyway regardless of your wishes is criminal. In what other way could a nation be raped than by having its wishes brutally ignored?
Of course it is deliberately provocative, but in what way is it wrong?
Imigration = You pay tax money, to let people live on it. People who dont nid hellp. Allso it's good if they have 3.5 children, so they cn take ower the contery in like 50 years.
I really love this video I thought I was alone in thinking the same way but it's good to talk with some like minded sane people. If governments dont physically stop the flow of immigration. Then people will keep coming to the UK and Europe.

Assuming that's true I agree. Could you send me a link to that study.
TheNakedAtheist 6 months ago
@TheNakedAtheist I haven't been able to find a complete copy online, but I found a link from 2001 where the report is referenced in summary.
I'll send you a PM with the link and a translation of the text.

@detersgumig
TheNakedAtheist 6 months ago

*The study was actually on 145 men from 1970-1989 not 98, and was done in 2000.

MartinJWillett 6 months ago
@MartinJWillett

Martin, as always, I love your work. I wish America thought this way.
riddler251 6 months ago

@NoFaithNoPain It is not a rule it is a suggestion as to how people should behave.

Wotanraven 6 months ago
@Wotanraven Most leftists are vaguely aware that there was a "mass" immigration of Huguenots at some time, and nobody knows who they are now so it stands to reason that they must have assimilated successfully and therefore they are proof that ALL immigrants in all eras will ALWAYS assimilate. They never bother to check the numbers involved or the time period or to contemplate just what ideal immigrants skilled French Protestants, with the capital of their liquidated assets, would have been.

why are the London riots like a pint of Guinness
It's imported expensive and mostly black,
BahamutDKing 6 months ago
also, i often hear that mass immigration is a natural part of globalization. in leftist thinking it's 'primitive' and 'parochial' thinking to consider your nation or even state as something that can be kept in any form of isolation. they have made up their mind that we must open up, think globally, save the planet and so on. and we must never assume our values are superior. in fact, we probably have a lot to learn from other cultures - if we can just open our minds up and learn tolerance.
topperheartramada 6 months ago
yes, but we willk have to agree to be colonized as long as we assume that all cultures and religions are equally good, and that pluralism is good. on these premises colonization is in fact enrichment. now you go and try to make the leftists change part of their ideological core. i don't think they are capable of changing their attitude.
topperheartramada 6 months ago
goooood.
NefariousVirtuoso88 6 months ago
Still, a lot of the descendants of immigrants still see themselves as belonging first and foremost to their ancestors nation, race or culture rather than the nation their ancestors emigrated to, regardless of wether or not their ancestors brought benefits to the nation.
j1mmyZeta 6 months ago
@j1mmyZeta Right, that makes them candidates for repatriation, doesn't it? If your primary loyalty belongs overseas you should be there with it.
MartinJWillett 6 months ago 2
I wouldn't call it rape, I think that's kind of insulting to actual rape victims, but colonization is a better name. Here's what people say: we don't want 'economic' refugees, but people who flee from war or political oppression are welcome. But by that criterion, who is NOT welcome ? It seems by the criterion they set, anyone in the entire world has a right to immigrate to the Netherlands (for example). But our country can't house 6 billion people. It's madness to suggest the entire world..
sogghartha 6 months ago
@sogghartha should be welcomed into our country, or the west in general. Immigration isn't a solution anyway. It doesn't make the country they left any better, nor does it make the country they immigrate to any better. It's a lose-lose situation.
sogghartha 6 months ago
@sogghartha Rape isn't defined by the sex it is defined by the lack of consent. An act which should be beautiful has been made foul and ugly by ignoring the right to say no. Inviting in a guest or a lover is good, having somebody just have their way with you anyway regardless of your wishes is criminal. In what other way could a nation be raped than by having its wishes brutally ignored?
Of course it is deliberately provocative, but in what way is it wrong?
