How to obtain G.F. Doomtrain? FFVIII

Steel Pipes are pretty easy to get as are Remedy+'s but the Malboro Tentacles are slighty trickier. There is a few ways though.

1. Use Card Mod. 4 Marlboro Cards will refine into one tentacle

2. Get GF Odin and picka fight with A Marlboro. When Squall swings his gun blade at the start of the battle press X and this increases the chances of Odin appearing by 30%

3. Use Pandemona's Initiative ability on Quistis and keep her in low health. The ability will allow her to use Degenerator.

@whitestar111 once you get to the end of the game you can draw all of the GF's that were optional from the various bosses inside of Ultimecia's castle in disk 4, so i wouldn't worry about it

@rililola If you can go back to the first are to get the solomons ring then it doesn't matter. All you need is the other materials. It was just quickest on disc 3.

The magic lamp gives you Diablos.... and you actually have to fight that guy.

The way I found easiest is to get A dark matter teach quistis degenerator them give her the ability intieantive and as long as u don't get back attacked u can quickly use degenerator and kill it before it attacks. Beforethe battle get someone to kill her bring her back DO NOT heal her then she can limit break easy so...1. Kill quistis 2.bring back don't heal3. Teach degenarator and gove intiaemtive ability 4. Quickly kill malboro. In beggining of battle before he uses bad breath

Well, you can set berserk and confuse to status defence or just mug them and escape...

you can learn mug from diablos

you can learn it from the GF ability, i think it's from diablos. It's called "Mug" where it lets your character steal items. Completing the centra ruins mini quest & acquiring odin may help too since there's a chance that odin could come out & automatically beat a malboro before the battle starts. Thus, it increases your chance of having malboro tentacles. It takes time but don't give up.

yup and you can get mug early in the game. having cerebus and pandemona with spd-j with 100 hastes is also the way to go, plus if you have luck-j which you can get if you mug odin i think you will increase your chances of getting tentacles

Have Alexdander Learn the ability 'Med Data'. Then Med Lvl Up can be learnt for around 200+ AP(I think). A good way to get AP is to fight cactuars in the desert on Edea's House continent. 20AP per cactuar defeated. Hope this helps :).

Once you get Carbuncl money shouldn't be a problem... just buy tents and refine them into mega-potions, then sell them! With tonberry everything just gets alot easier!

I have all the items needed to obtain doomtrain except for the remedy+. I have had Alexander learn all his abilities, but Med LV Up was not one of them. I can't find it anywhere! How can I get it so that I can get this GF!?!?!?! HELP ME PLEASE!!! *It's driving me crazy not being able to do it :oP*

If you used any item that taught Alexander any of his non-default abilities, the ability you taught him replaced Med LV Up. I don't think there's an item that can teach GF's to use Med LV Up.
