@TG816TG Including the purchase of the Jeep, I probably have a total of $9k-$10k invested, most of the cost (excluding the purchase of the Jeep) coming from 2 sets of 33" tires. I'm a cheap ass and a bargain shopper, only parts I bought brand new are tires, t-case linkage bracket, and rear bumper. If I were to sell it, I should come out close to even if not a little under... even if I lost my butt on it, WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!
Two great looking jeeps. I'm going to pick up my 98 TJ in Jacksonville, FL on friday. Im 17 years old and it'll be my third car but first jeep and I honestly can't wait. We own a shop down here and my pops happens to be a distributor for Rough Country and RhinoLiner so I'm gonna hook that baby up
@NERDFLoWXX Can your Dad hook up a fellow Jeeper with a Rough Country Long Arm kit? :) Just be warned, there is a Jeep bug and when you get bit, there is no stopping without suffering... But it's totally worth it when people want to ride in your Jeep!
Alot of my friends have "Luxurie" cars. Every time they ride with me they say why don't you get something more comfortable. Your Jeep is old, and is not a good ride. But they just don't UNDERSTAND!! They do not know what it's like to drive a Jeep! It's not just a "vehicle" It's a way of life! Take this guy, once you get a Jeep, all you can thank about is, upgrade, upgrade, UPGRADE! Because if you need any part for a Jeep someone makes it. Just the way us Jeep people are!
I've got a 03 tj and I love it, have since the day I found it on the internet. There's something about owning a Jeep that's different than any other car
@smackface6 Definitely towards the top of my upgrade list... along with a tummy tuck. I'm working on upgraded my exhaust right now. My OEM cat has broken into pieces on the inside and is making an awful and annoying noise at idle and offroad. I also hear a leak up towards the exhaust manifold (same one as in the video) but I didn't see any cracks in the header. I bought a 99+ intake manifold last night so when I change that out I'm going to inspect the header... hopefully its just the gasket
I love this video and your jeeps but quick question, don't those doors on your TJ get annoying cause of the plastic windows? like isn't it a pain to take them off and put them back on rather than just rolling them down and up?
@Mitch062 It's not a pain at all to take the upper doors on and off. You simply pull up on it to remove it, or guide 3 or 4 rods down into a roll to put it on... probably the most easy thing to do on the Jeep lol. And the windows do zip down. It's zippered all the way except the bottom, so just upzip and tuck it in.
@98greensi I used Duplicolor Fabric Paint. Comes in rattle cans and can be found at auto parts stores and walmart and such. That was 3-4 years ago and they still look great. After a year of sitting in the West Coast sun, it still has a nice solid black color. It has faded a little since I painted it, but not to the point where it needs repainted. It's well worth the money as long as your top is in good shape.
@UnSpOkEn5sHot I really want the Smittybuilt XRC bumper $ winch... but don't have $1000 right now to invest into it, student loans and california cost of living is raping my wallet lol
It now has KUMHO mud terrains, I love the tires. They werent too expensive, do great off road, very road friendly, and are wearing very slowly.
And thanks for the steering box heads up, I'm looking into something now bc it won't take much to damage it! A $50 plate is much cheaper and easier than a $200 pump! lol
hi I have 98 Sahara .It came with Gambler rims like yours. Have you tested them after the lift and new tiers? wish the guy that I bought mine from didn't change the front bumper . he put a smitybuilt tube bumper that you would see on a late 70's early 80's he also took all rescue hooks off as well. nice work. how long did it take you to do all this.
@kowz4u Sorry for the late ass reply. Since I've made this video, I have done a few things to the Jeep. Since then I have installed a one of a kind rear bumper/tire carrier, ION alloy wheels, KUMHO m/t tires (33'' still), jeep rubicon rocker guards, and rubicon fender flares. Take a look at my link in my comment above to see how my love is doing these days. I'm pretty much done upgrading her for now until something breaks and gives me a reason to buy something new. She's loving California!
@JeepingJeepster She looks real sweet. I installed some skid plates on mine. will be puttin on a new bumper on the next 2 weeks. my Bro gave me half soft doors and does this make her look different i need of the door mirrors brackets. Sooo k about the late post. Happy Jeepin.
@kowz4u I never had a problem with the old Gambler wheels, except for the clear coat peeling. When I removed them, I painted them gun metal gray and painted the "rivets" silver. Looked good, they sold fast!
In Jeep in the video took about 6 months. The first photo is when I bought it and the last pic of it is what I did to it.
Thanks man! Black is what I really want but this green has really grown on to me. This video is pretty old and the Jeep looks a little different (m/t tires, ION alloy rims, rocker guards, rubicon flares). I need to update the video now, lol

I've a black 95 Jeep Wrangler and I love it ;)
Of course, the $2,400 I spent on a transmission overhaul and a clutch repair really damaged our relationship.
Nah, just kidding. Still love my Jeep.

You should really get a big Winch bumper and a winch
+ get a steering box plate
#1 thing that totals jeeps is that steering box gets hit or w.e and they would fix it but its really costly
+ get some BF goodrich mud terrain tires
