  • Hi, thanks for the tutorial :) I did have a question though, I just bought a 1945 model of this projector at a thrift store and it turns on and everything works I'm just concerned that the bulb smokes when it's on. It this normal? It has two bulbs with it, a replacement and the one in the camera, I tried both and both smoke and burn. I'm assuming it's dust but is this hazerdous to plug in because of all the power it draws?

  • Thank you so much. I just reciently aquired a 1941 Revere 85 8mm projector in mint condition for $20. Thanks to your video she is projecting like it was new.

  • Great little machine and sounds so healthly for its age. Your dog was determined

to make a 'brief' appearance.. Great video and excellent camerawork backed up by a nice music track.

  • @ducter2001 Thank you!

  • Thanks for posting...I would have been lost without this! Picked up an old Bell and Howell master 400 for 10 bucks..I love it! :) This vid helped me understand it sooo much, even though they are not the same they basically work the same.

  • This is a good tutorial for those just getting into film and projectors and need some help, especially on a Revere model. I have a similar projector, only mine is a DeJUR 750. True that if you run it too slow, it will burn the film. You should also mention if you play it too fast, it will burn out the lamp very quickly. Great video!

  • thanks, this is very informative. Do you know how to change the Bulb? Any help would be very appreciated.

  • Thnx a lot! I recently bought something similar and it came with absolutely no instruction manual. I tried for hours to figure out how it worked and now, thanks to your video it took me 2 minutes and it's working great!

  • This didn't work for me because I only had Halo 2 to use :(

  • @Hulsie Tough break; the projector base is only compatible with Fable 2, sorry! :-)

  • do you have a manual for sale for this machine. I have just bought one but it came without instructions. I can't figure out where the bulb is or how to replace it when it's out.

  • @Betty1834 the bulb is, if you have that exact model in this video, inside the vertical rectangle with the indents at :06. Hope you understand :D

  • thank you so much for this vid! guna have a video night with my grandma tonight! I AM SO EXCITED!

  • My only comment about the video is that the white knob on the base of the unit controls the tilt, not the height, so the Fable 2 box isn't really needed. I also have a question about the gate switch. When I push mine down all the way, the thing that holds the film against the lens opening extends forward a lot. But if I push it to where it's horizontal, it's nice and flush. I also notice the little knob on mine doesn't rattle/move as much as yours, and wonder if mine is bad...

  • Just found this same model in my attic and dug up a bunch of old reels in my basement! Thank you so much for posting this tutorial!

  • This is a good tutorial! Keep it up!

  • I am using one of these projectors, but suddenly, there is now something blocking the image on the screen. I looked at the problem and it appears a small piece of metal with the view finder is now about 4 mm too high in the lamp area that locks down. There is a small handle that connects to this piece, which I can jiggle a little but, but I can't move it out of the way. Are you at all familiar with this part or how to get this thing out of the way?!

  • this tutorial has helped me begin to watch family history stored for 60 yrs! Thank you :)

  • @kgkate49 I'm really happy to hear that! You're very welcome.

  • Thanks SOOO MUCH for posting this video :-D!!! I only have one concern with my Revere 85 projector: when I start up the motor, there are little sparks flashing inside the unit. They mostly subside after a while, and I do not hear any strange sounds coming from the machine. What do you think may cause this?

  • well done! - Thank you.

  • I had this exact same model. Very dependable projector. The reason I sold it was the fact that it only had a 200' capacity. I graduated to a Keystone K-109, which takes 400' reels. I love the tiny oil holes. My Keystone has these also.

  • Thanks for making my dreams come truee

  • Glad I could help!
