  • next it's time to invest in a new dash and drivers seat.

  • that guy up top saying he has a "89 gt cobra " is a dumb canadian

  • my 89 mustang GT cobra has 4 speed automatic, are you sure they stopped making 4 speed after 84? and btw, my mustang is mainly stock, nothing perfomance added, with dry rotting tires,(its slow and has rpm issues in second gear) and it goes as fast or faster than the one in this video, thats all im saying... strange

  • @SargentandGreenLeaf This car had a 4 speed manual transmission, you have a 4 speed automatic. They did not make a Mustang "Cobra" in 1989, and they never made an automatic cobra. And hopefully it is as fast as the car in this video, this was when the car was stock with 157 hp. Before I sold it, it was going 12.90s @ 107 mph on 205/60R15 all-season tires.

  • @gtdrummerdude All Canada cars were cobra's you stand corrected...

  • only reason i hate 4speeds the rpms drop from 6k to 3k

  • nile is awesome

  • sweet vid man

  • Opeth is amazing

  • another gay metal intro. how original, lol.

  • @Hot80s Look into the band before you say that. This is one of the better bands of our time. It isn't all growling. There are heavy jazz and acoustic influences also and the vocalist is a very talented writer.

  • haha man i'm thinkin a savin like a grand and getting me a car to strip out. looks like a fun project

  • killer song what is it?

  • Opeth and Mustangs go along so well....

  • Nice Mustang! Love that 5.0 sound!!

  • Hey dood....funny man..the music was a cool touch..if i would have heard naygro music, i would have been sad..

I got a 83 with t-tops, which i think is the coolest mustang for me..You've inspired me to put my ol turd on here too..I'll try to be creative..like...donuts around some speed cameras or something...no wait...a huge brakestand in the church parking lot while they are all comin out!!! Thats it...Youve inspired me man..

  • A yamaha banshee can take your 5.slOw with ease.

  • peace a chit

  • @RedResurrections Least it can take out a 1991 CBR with ease.

  • @gtdrummerdude lol deam on.. I also have a 1994 z28 6 speed

  • @RedResurrections This car is not the same as it was in this video from almost 3 years ago. Your LT1 would be about a bus length behind me in seconds, and your '91 CBR would be owned. I have held my own against a close friend's '99 Trans Am LS1 6 speed 3.42 gears, SLP intake, Pacesetter LTs, full race exhaust dumped, no cats, and tuned at a local dyno shop. I went 12.96 @ 107 mph on econobox 205 tires. Your 6 speed LT1 would be lucky to run 14.8 here, I have seen many of them at the drags.

  • @gRedResurrections Now please take your faggotry elsewhere unless you are ready to throw down hundred dollar bills and line your junk up because I am- any day, any time. I can tell you right now that you will look like a fool. This video is for 4-eyed Mustang enthusiasts. If you don't like 4-eyed Mustangs then you have no business watching this video, and since you have started shit you had better bring your pile out here and run it otherwise get lost. I have no time for bench racing faggots.

  • @gtdrummerdude mustang are for women, and queers.

  • @gtdrummerdude Id like to see a drag run on that 5.0 you talk bullchit. my lt1 can run high 12's on a good day. SLP intake, SLP exhaust, pacesetter shortys. bbk shifter jet pcm. and my 91 cbr has a 93 motor with new topend titanium valves hotcam, hotcam lifters i built this bike from scratch it can do 0-150 in seconds wheelstand in all 6 gears.. and its worth 3 times as much as that 5.0 what i got in it.

  • @RedResurrections Watch my videos idiot. There are plenty of videos of me making passes at the local strip. An LT1 with intake and exhaust won't come anywhere near 12s. I have been building and racing cars for years, I know how GM stuff performs. LT1s are heavy turds, this Mustang would mow your junk over with ease. Like I said, until you bring your shit out here to race you are nothing but a cyber fag talking trash and bench racing.

  • @RedResurrections that is even slower, hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

  • now that shit was slow

  • Nice, very nice!!!, keep them 4 eyes alive!!!

  • Hey I really like your Fox man. I can't wait 'til my 1983 'vert gets some well-deserved power... Thanks again for not putting an 87-93 front fascia on yours by the way. The four eyed Fox looks better. :)

  • @SuperWhoopass Nice I like '83 'verts. Is it not a V8 car? If you want to go fast with a 302 for cheap, find yourself a set of GT40P heads. That's what i'm using now with a mild cam and i'm in the high 12s with a/c and power steering and full interior. I got mine for $220 with very low miles, extremely clean and they had TFS valve springs on them already. My buddies found two pairs of them at a junkyard and took them home for $100 per set.

  • @gtdrummerdude Nah it's got a 302 and the 4 speed like yours but everything is stock. :( I've been considering putting on some bolt-on's. Everyone keeps telling me that those heads are the way to go if you want a decent increase in hp. I guess it's true! I'm just concerned with how far I can push the car without having to worry about my tranny/drivetrain crapping out. How does yours hold up?

  • @SuperWhoopass Well I don't have the 4 speed anymore, I got rid of it a while back but it was still working good, granted I never had much power in front of it. The T5 probably isn't any stronger, at least the early 265 boxes which is what I have. I'm launching it on slicks at 5500 and slamming gears all the way down the track and it is holding up though. If you still have a 7.5" rear end i'd be concerned about that much more than the trans.

  • @gtdrummerdude *Sigh* I need a job... I'm 17. Hahaha

  • @SuperWhoopass I'm not much older. You can find 8.8s for cheap. I got mine with 3.73s in it for free from a friend. I just bugged him for long enough that he gave it to me. You can probably work something out with someone.

  • @gtdrummerdude Think I could find something at a local junkyard? I know of one near where I live and it specializes in Mustangs.

  • @SuperWhoopass Find SOMETHING? I think you can every EVERYTHING at a junkyard. When I want something that's the first place I go. Yards are everywhere in Phoenix. I can find suspension, interior components, rear ends, engines, aftermarket parts, performance parts, etc. I got my 1982 GT steering wheel ($150 on ebay) for $15 at a local yard. I got my GT40P heads off an Explorer at a local yard and gained 50 hp. Junkyards are the best.

  • @gtdrummerdude Shit! Furreal? Haha alright! I could use PLENTY of things for my car...

  • Thats beautiful. I just picked up a 93 GT. Its my first car and i love it

  • I have A 93 but lx but I love the 4 eyes..and I agree about the muscle car look to em

  • its a four eye thing to all those people thinking that the front end is ugly

  • The 60's Mustangs were the best....

But Nowadays 5th and 6th generation mustangs are looking good....

  • I like it, thanks for sharing!

Ive had both style foxes and like em both for their own reasons.

Great cars! Im on my 5th one!

  • I love the early foxes lighter=faster =)

  • i found these cars ugly at first but im not even sure what happened .. i really like them now.

i love this car by the way .. looks like its a real mint one! i had 2 fox bodies, an 86 and an 89 .. the 86 was a 4cyl i put a 302 out of a vic into and put h.o goodies on it .. i never really had the money at the time to invest into a real nice fox body setup and now im dealing with g-body gm problems ..

  • Shouldn't be pushing an older car that hard too much. It will end up in the scrap yard.

  • Shifts nice

  • really cool but those years are so ugly. no offence

  • @LiveToBike9 None taken. To each, his own. I have people come up to me often telling me to change the front end or offering the aeronose conversion cuz mine is ugly. But there is another group of people who really like this style. I like it for sure. Looks like a Chrysler K car or any other boxy 1980s economy car but it's got balls. Plus this is much rarer body style. Everyone has '87 - '93 foxes, it's nice to see something different ever now and then.

  • @gtdrummerdude I like it,Any year stang other than the late 70's and the mid nineties look good.

  • @gtdrummerdude Hell yeah Bro I just gave up my 89 and got a 85. Sweet ride Bro

  • @gtdrummerdude same here....i like the 4 eye'd Foxe's....parts might be a lil' harder to find, but as long as you enjoy your car ya know?

  • @gtdrummerdude Agreed man, it's nice to see 4 eyed Foxes still tearin' up the streets. Where I live, it's rare to find an 87-93, but I think I've got the only 79-86 in the whole county haha wish I could get videos of my '83 convertible up but I don't have a camera. :/

  • @gtdrummerdude Don't you dare change that nose! :D (I know you wont)

Awesome car, I have an early 90's fox but would LOVE to add an '86 or older to the stable.

  • @gtdrummerdude I like four eyed cars myself but still cant drive yet lol

  • @gtdrummerdude vintage.love it. use to have a mint 83 bubble back 4 speed capri rs.then another 83 capri rs 5.0 bubble. it was my first of many 5.0s and 4.6's and it all started in 1992.lol. on my 8th stang now counting the rs capri's i had.

  • @LiveToBike9 i think the old 4 eyes look more like musle cars than the 87-93 foxes especially with bigger tires in the back

  • @LiveToBike9 hey man, a mustang is a mustang

  • @LiveToBike9 i love those cars, man

  • hey ive got an 88 lx 5.0 hatch auto w/mass air(california car). i want it quicker and ive got like 1000 bucks. i was thinking rearend gears? please help

  • @MrKyleSchick Being an auto car, gears will help alot and make the car a lot more fun to drive. I did a gear swap in my old auto Dart. Went from 2.76 to 3.90 gears and boy was it a lot more fun and a lot quicker out of the hole. For an auto I highly recommend 4.10s. The gears are like 200 bucks and you can find people to install them for another 200 so you'll be done for 400 and still have 600 to play with. So yes, my first choice for an auto car would be gears.

  • @MrKyleSchick Or if you want a 5 speed rather than the auto trans, you can do a T5 swap for 600ish. A friend of mine sells complete T5 swaps out of donor cars for 600 bucks. They include the trans, bellhousing, shifter, clutch quadrant and pedal assembly, clutch, flywheel, clutch cable, crossmember, everything you need to swap from an auto to T5 for just 600 bucks. I imagine others sell the same kits but if you're interest i'll hook you up with his info. Where do you live?

  • @gtdrummerdude im in florida and thanks alot but i actually prefer the automatic and actually have a t5 in my garage that i dont need.

  • @gtdrummerdude sounds good man thanks but will i need a new pumpkin or a new driveshaft or anything. also i dont wanna make it alot less driveable. its my everyday driver so idk...

  • @MrKyleSchick No you won't need anything besides the gears and some new oil. It won't make the car any less driveable. The AOD has a deep overdrive so you'll be fine still even with 4.10s.

  • whats the song name?

  • that trannys killing your car. get a t5 and go faster

  • @mkvii50 A T5 will be in it in 3 weeks as well as a 100 shot. It'll be REAL fast. The question is how long will the T5 last with a 100 shot lol. I'm sure it'll be fine, I don't use slicks. It'll just be on stock sized street tires.

  • @gtdrummerdude nice. now youll have a usable 3rd and 4th to play with.

  • I love how at the end of you description it says to pay attention to your driving and watch the proper way to launch and shift a car with a manual transmission.

Can you put yourself higher up on a pedestal?

  • @mopar43v3r Well what's better, my launches that sound like I have traction control on and wheel spin is very well controlled even tho the car does not have a single computer, or someone reving the engine to 4000 rpm, stabbing the gas and dumping the clutch? Similar launches to the ones in this video have done me a lot of justice at the drags and on the street, keeping up out of the hole with cars that others cannot keep up with out of the hole. The shifting was a bit slow in this video I admit.

  • @gtdrummerdude You are right and I know you launched properly and everything. But it did sound like you were bragging a little bit.

  • @mopar43v3r I am a competitive person by nature, and I wish I wasn't. It's gotten me into needless trouble and hasn't really done me any good lol. Nothing to brag about right now tho. Once the 100 shot is on the car, THEN I can brag. 3 or 4 weeks TOPS. I'm sure i'll have videos of it so stay tuned!

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS!!!!???? ITS FUCKING SICK!!

  • @lXlDimmuborgirlXl It's Master's Apprentices by Opeth. If you like Dimmu Borgir alot, you must have never listened to Opeth. Check out all of their albums and never go back to D.B. lol

  • @gtdrummerdude haha i deff know who opeth is lol, i just made this account like 3 years ago. Yeah im gonna check out their other shit too!

  • @gtdrummerdude opeth fucking rules!

  • damn i hate thoes 85 mph speedos they are so easy to max out btw sweet ass car man

  • good choice of music

  • Is this that fairly new neighborhood near Happy Valley Rd. and 51st.? I use to live near there.

  • @MichaelClaytonIsGood Yes. This is back when it was really new and ppl did donuts and all kinds of stuff back there. Now there are houses all the way to the canal and we had to find different spots to mess around.

  • @ChrisXCXCX The E7 heads had the same valve and port sizes so on paper they look the same, but they had smaller chambers (8cc smaller) bumping compression from 8.3:1 to 9.0:1. The chambers and ports were also revised so the E7s were just better heads, worth about 20 hp when bolted on to an early 5.0. The earlier cars also only had a single exhaust pipe. At this point, my '82 makes slightly more power than a stock '88, but to get it there I had to grind out the thermactor humps

  • @ChrisXCXCX and do a little pocket porting in the exhaust ports, do a mild cam swap (still has nearly a stock idle, it's just a mild upgrade), add short-tube headers and dual exhaust. I also added an Edelbrock carb while I was at it. However, my '82 coupe only weighs 2920 lbs in full showroom trim (currently 2850 lbs) so I have a weight advantage. On the other hand, I have the 4 speed SROD transmission which is a disadvantage compared to a T5, but they got rid of the SROD in mid-year '83.

  • @ChrisXCXCX Anyway, LONG description but I get a decent amount of questions about earlier foxes compared to later foxes so I thought I may as well write a big long post for all those curious folks to read. There are many more changes that I did not mention here, but I can provide additional information upon request. To get an early carbed 5.0 to hang with a later 5.0 or PI 4.6, you will need short-tube headers, dual exhaust, mild cylinder head porting, mild cam upgrade, and a good tune.

  • i wonder if the carbed versions ran better then the efi?

  • @ChrisXCXCX As far as daily driving goes, no. Fuel injection is much more precise than carburetion. As far as power and torque, I am in favor of carburetors. They make the same power but cost much less and can be tuned very easily at home for very little money. They also have faster response if tuned right and produce more low-rpm torque. As far as Mustangs go, the EFI versions were faster than the carbureted versions, but not because of the EFI.

  • get some 3.73 in that thing huge difference

  • @nsdude09 Yea i'm actually looking at 3.90s. I'm about to start getting shit done with this car over the next few months. Whole new exhaust, paint, nitrous, gears, suspension. I am coming into some money pretty quick so by December I should have most of those things done.

  • nice 5.0

  • sick car dude

  • OPETH!!!

  • Nice GLX! Runs really well. Damn thing launches pretty quick with 3.27's, didn't expect that.

  • manual <3

  • i had an '82 Cal Highway Patrol car. man do i miss it but that 4-speed is awful. i had to hold mine in 3rd otherwise it would pop out, lol. with that gearing though, i think it'd go about 400 mph. damn, i need a 5.0 again.

  • bad azz car

  • so whut i paid 40.50 bux with 50 cents for my 90 gt leather seats original paint

wit saleen wheels.. now can u beat dat?

  • what opeth song is this?

  • i can't believe you called that POS a muscle car. you're about ten years and 150 hp off!!!!

  • Muscle cars aren't designated by an era. And no, lmao. He's not 150hp off. The 60's and 70's muscle cars made shit for horsepower in the day.

  • @DemoFly "Shit horsepower" Yea, because the 427 SOHC Cammer Ford made back in the early 60's totally didnt put out 650+hp nor did it have a lagacy....lmao

  • @408Mustangs You're right. Every muscle car ever made has a 427 SOHC. You're incredibly smart.

  • @DemoFly Did I say that dumbass? But I can name alot a muscle cars with atleast 450+...

  • @408Mustangs Yeah, you did say that , lmao. I said muscle cars made shit horsepower in the day. You said "NO, THE 427 SOHC IS A LEGEND!" Kind of a weird comment to make. You can name a lot of cars with 450+? Well that's cool. Wont change the fact the same engine with today's technology can make double.

  • @DemoFly "You're right, every muscle car EVER made has a 427" is what you said, dumbass...Now find where I typed that out? Oh wait, I didn't. And the same engine with todays tech can make double? WE GOT A FUCKING GENIUS OVER HERE GUYS! Yea, I'd hope so. Again, never did I say they couldnt.

  • @408Mustangs Lol, then I have no idea what the hell you are arguing about. You're pissed for no reason, man. I said muscle cars made shit horsepower in the day, and they can make double the horsepower with todays technology. Then you agreed with me. Then you disagreed with me. Then you agreed with me. Don't be mad bro, don't be mad. Never said muscle cars were bad or couldn't hold their own. Just said they didn't make much horsepower in the day. Also, why are you talking about factory engines?

  • @DemoFly How the hell can you say they made shit hp in the day when I gave examples of engines that made more than enough hp condsidering it was in the 60's?

  • @408Mustangs Because you can make twice as much power with todays technology....lol. I said "shit for horsepower" as a comparison to what they can make today. I didn't mean they made little to begin with.

  • @DemoFly And let's compare Chevy's L88 from the 60's....427 All Alum Pushrod...Underrated at 430hp...Hmmm....Kinda sounds like Chevy's LS6 engine! You know, the one in the Z06? Put's out 505hp...So after 50 years of "Advancement" and "Todays technology" it only puts out 70 more hp? There goes your "Tech" lmao. Face it, Muscle cars not only performed well in their time, they fair quite well in todays performance standards.

  • There were also more than a few cars that could run 10's factory stock...Show me a car that can do that today for under 250k?

  • @408Mustangs PS the l88 was an iron block with aluminum heads Made in 68. The zl1 was the first factory aluminum block.

  • @DemoFly the REAL muscle cars didn't make shit for horsepower. the only reason you think that is because you're not intellegent enough to realize that car manufacturers purposely underrated their cars to keep insurance cheap. for example the '69 mustang boss 429 was rated at 375 horsepower and 450 lbft of torque even though it was more like 550 and 600

  • @Imaman93 Learn to read comments before posting.

  • @DemoFly learn to go fuck yourself

  • @Imaman93 Also, don't be mad because you jumped the gun on insulting someone. Such a baby.

  • @DemoFly I agree, todays technology can produce more HP out of older engines. theres no opinion about it, its a fact. I wouldnt say they made shit power in the day, but still a substancial amount of power by todays standards. The new 2011 mustang is a perfect example of showing what todays technology can do. the early 90s 5.0 makes about 215hp at the wheels. the 2011 5.0 makes 435hp at the wheels.

  • @that70sshow89 - actually thats brake horsepower not wheel horsepower. Thats to the flywheel. Most 1987-93 5.0's had just over 180hp to the wheels. The newer 5.0 has about 390. About like the 03 and 04 Cobras which were underrated. The 03, 04 Cobras pushed about 435 bhp, about 390 to the wheels, which is the same as the new 5.0 which is bad ass considering its not supercharged.

  • @DemoFly all your doing is saying "modern tech makes double horsepower" every fucking comment

  • @Imaman93 Because it does.

  • i paid 1000 4 my 95 5.0 mustang nd wit fresh paint nd 5 speed wit 2006 gt wheels can u beat dat nd its a cobra

  • Yes I can. I paid 800 for a 1982 Mustang GLX notchback 5.0 (only a few hundred were made) with leather interior, power everything, McLaren package, not to mention 1982 is the first year for the 5.0L HO. Your Cobra is cool but they are a dime-a-dozen, my car is probably a 1 of 1 which is why I bought it.

  • @gtdrummerdude NIce job dude! I was gonna pay 1500 for my neighbor's 83 5.0 GT convertible with leather and factory air and power top, but she ended up just giving it to me for free =) Now I'm spending that money on a new exhaust! and other suttle tune ups like new wheels and tires!

  • @cobraz15 LMAO A COBRA CLONE GET FUCKING REAL U COULD NEVER SELL A COBRA FOR 1000 EVEN A COBRA SHELL

  • $800 for a running coupe? You got a great deal, doesn't matter what it looks like.

  • Wasn't running. Was sitting uncovered for ten years and weeds were growing from the ground up through the engine bay. Had to be trailored home

  • way too tall rear gears lol

  • They're 3.27s. Perfect for street/strip use. The tires already break loose in first gear from a roll, with 3.73s first gear we probably be useless. It's the transmission ratios that are tall. Third gear is 1.00:1

  • @gtdrummerdude 3:27 arent bad gear ratio's but perfect for street/strip? i think 3:55 would be better or even 3.73

  • $800.00 bucks for a clean coupe, dude you got a hell of a deal, here in Stang country(N Alabama) that car fetched $3000.00 easy

  • Well the left side is the good one. Hood, roof and right side of car (passenger side) are oxidized and rusted from sitting, headliner is fried, dash cap is cracked, seats cracked to pieces. It needs some work but the body is solid and 1982 GLX coupes with 5.0s are very rare, not to mention the options this car has. Just needs restoration. It's getting there.

  • after hearing opeth i went out and killed woodland animals -but nice car--

  • Love the video! Looks like you were having some major fun.

  • watch my vid shifting gear double clutching ect, at flossin block

  • a couple years back I owned a 1985 Mustang GT which was mostly original. Silver metalic paint. It had the original transmission still in it. I bought it from my former boss for $2,000.00. Was my first car adn the car I learned how to drive stick in. I ended up having to sell it when I got laid-off. The fastest me and dad ever got it up to was 145 in 4th because the rear was light it would start got get loose. But was great for zoomig through on and off ramps at 100+mph. Nice vide man keep it up

  • I had that problem in my 93 Coupe with the ass end getting out on me at 145mph. I bought a steeda spoiler and finally got to go faster. The hatch 5.0's will top out at 165mph stock.

  • with enough room, and the wind blowing behind you. LMFAO!

  • Someone's got their pajama pants on!

  • Haha no they are plad shorts

  • 4 eyed notch and Opeth, great taste everywhere!

  • i miss my 83 gt : (

  • so mayyybe thats not what he wants

  • can anybody tell me the song in the background x) ? thx

  • @KnightRiderChrissi band is opeth, but i don't know the song offhand

  • Opeth and the song is Master's Apprentice. I forget which album but if you like the band, pick up the album "Blackwater Park".

  • great! thanks man x) peace!

  • @gtdrummerdude this song is off the "deliverance" album.....such a great album too! i totally love opeth and the mustang!

  • I'd send you a message but I'm not the most savvy person on this website. It's embarrassing considering I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Where did you get those plaid pants? I love plaid.

  • Haha I don't remember. They were real thin so they tore to shreds after a while but they were comfy.

  • God, I've always wanted an '82 GT.

  • 800!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats a steal of a buy. i spend 1200 on a clean 1993 mustang notchback(2.3) im swapping cammed 5.0 in it for next year

  • Hey good luck on the swap, message me if you have any questions and let's see her when she's done!

  • 604Kingfiveohh - Please note that a relly good friend of mine has almost the exact same car as shown here and it is a 5.0 Liter H.O. (says so on the factory air cleaner). And under that air cleaner is a carburetor. Please note the spelling of the device that properly mixes air and gasoline (in this vehicle) is spelled C-A-R-B-U-R-E-T-O-R.

I don't know when Ford went to the EFI on the 5 liter V8, but the Carb'd engine is a High Output mill nonetheless.

    Thanks.

  • And in front of that carburetor is an aluminum radiator that was purchased from Rick, who doesn't know how to take care of anything, which is subsequently riddled with pinholes that I must now fix with JB Weld after borrowing BigDaddyAudio's air gun tomorrow morning.

  • they went to fuel injection in 86

  • Awesome Video man.

And please 604KINGfiveohh you ought to seriously be kidden. Not one things you claimed is factual, and the fact that you used Wikipedia as your source of information if hilarious.

  • just to correct your info on the side.. its not a 5.0 HO if it's carbarated..

  • Wow that was a very uneducated statement. Go do 3 minutes worth of research and then come back and delete your comment.

  • umm uneducated eh.. maybe you should look at my channel.. i might add that the first year of High output 302's was 87 when ford switched from using carbarators to the efi fuel injection(hense the H.O. ontop on the stock efi intake manifold).. making ur glx a non h.o. car(because its CARBARATED).. also im not insulting you or your car, simply correcting information about your car.. maybe you should go read wikipedia or something if you dont know that your car is not high output.. end of story

  • Please go read the message I just sent you with around 10 links to articles (with pictures) about the 1982 Mustang 5.0L HO, including 1982 factory literature from Ford, Motor Trend and others. You are very uneducated as can be seen by your statement "hense the H.O. ontop on the stock efi intake manifold", considering that the 1982-1985 carbureted 5.0L HO engines came with an air cleaner with a decal that read: "5.0 Liter H.O." (the last link I sent you)

  • Oh, and when you try that last link it might tell you that you can't view the picture. Just click the "back" button that it provides for you and then you can see it.

  • haha they started fuel injection in 86 rimrod

  • Yup '86 for the 5.0s. I think '86 was CFI and SFI began in '87. I personally like carburetors, especially Edelbrocks for a daily driver application. They are EASY to tune and tweak and run consistantly great as long as you keep a clean fuel filter in line.

  • yep.

  • hello my friend, nice ride! i have a 1981 mustang with 5.0 engine and c6 transmission but i still have my 7.5 ring and pinion. How did you swap your rear end?

  • You have to find an 8.8" rear end from a 1986 to 1995 Mustang and swap it in. The brakes can stay hooked up, just unbolt them from the 7.5" housing, let them hang and then bolt them back on to the 8.8" housing. Everything else bolts up the same as the 7.5". I went the extra mile and took the slapper bars off the 7.5" by grinding through the welds and welding them on to the 8.8". I also got a pair of quad shocks and welded them onto the frame. They help alot with wheel hop.
