On a good note there are people out there who have proven minorities can be successful with hard work and perseverance; Bill Cosby, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, and Herman Cain. These men (I could also name many women too) have risen above the entitlement mentality. However, they are often called the “Uncle Toms” of minorities because they would not follow the path of the entitlement mentality.

I'm a progressive for healthcare reform, but I think this "deeming" process is dispicable. If the Dems had any balls, they'd tell Pelosi that they want a strong bill with a public option and then they'll put their name on the line with a REAL up or down vote. Even reconciliation, though debatable, would be acceptable for many of us progressives. But instead, elected officials are trying to squirm out of their responsibilities by sliding something through without voting. COWARDS!
