Well, I wish they would release this and 7 Faces, tom thumb and The Power on DVD in Australia!! I saw WWBG in Cinerama as a kid, I even have the original souvenir program AND an original soundtrack story LP narrated by Charlie Ruggles (!) with highlights from the film and also with the souvenir program.
The film was originally released in Cinerama. After it finished its play dates at Cinerama theatres, it was released at non-Cinerama theatres in Cinemascope.
AMAZON.COM has a picture from the movie when you type in the full title and in the right hand corner it says that you can sign up to be notified when this is released. I signed up yesterday.
@melekmoll It will probably come out on DVD as a Warner Bros. Archive release. Two other George Pal MGM releases Tom Thumb and 7 Faces of Dr. Lao have already been issued.
Wow! My Dad tookme to see this when it first came out, I was 5 years old and I remember that dragon scared the HELL out of me! Do you haveany idea where I can find the whole thing online ?
the coachman was my father in REAL LIFE::::)) i was as little girl 5 aged on the set in NEU SCHWANSTEIN....it was really a wonderful world...))) April Turner
I believe this was a rare Cinerama movie, not Cinemascope. Another example of Cinerama was How the West Was Won. I saw both as a kid. It had an amazing 3D effect to it. The staging in a lot of the shots had characters walking towards the camera and away from it to call attention to the 3D.
dogvandave is correct, The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm was released in cinerama, not Cinemascope, a mistake in my notation. You can kind of see the 3 panels used to make the extra superwide screen. Cheers!
I was thinking about this movie and here is some clips to it. Could you post the opening sequence. I love the music, some of hollywoods most lush and beautiful.

I saw this as a Boy with my grandfather in the original cinerama. It looked spectacular & I remember feeling very happy when we left the theater.
It's a real shame it has fallen into disrepair.
I would love to see them do a full restoration like they did for "How the West was Won ( Saw that with dear old grandad too,in the same theater).
It would be great for more generations of kids to enjoy this great film.
