think i get why you didn't die from burn. you stayed out of boss' radius and didn't get increase fire damage debuff from meteor slash right? don't know boss well but i think it's right
What is Brute doing to me when I get burned by this crazy fire at about 5minllion hp?
Myself and another hunter tried this tonight. We both have 388SV hunters.First try I switched to my MM spec that has MD glyph and is set up for extreme soloing and we had threat on turtle. I kept my 388 stuff on though. Turtle died, we wiped. Second try I switched my gear spec to my extreme soloing spec which has 2 t5 pieces for the 15% heal bonus.Turtle was fine but at 5mHp he uses fire on me and I die.
@bucnomore11 I just got back into solo'ing, but yeah. I can solo brut and felmyst again, almost got twins, just need to work around a few things, and I'm sure I can do M'uru.

So I figured I would go back and redo some of my solo's, with that in mind I wanted to start with the hardest one I've done so far, so yeah Brutallus it was..
That being said, now with around an ilvl of 390, he is sadly a joke :( All you really need to do is to not let mendpet fall off, and just have food, flask, fortbuff and kings.
I'm working on some new solo's, but for now nothing that no one has not done.
@dartemis7690 What I started doing was just trying to keep it alive for the 6 mins, going back and forth between specs to see which one worked the best, once you get a feel for the dmg your pet takes, it's about getting some rng dodges and misses when needed - you see that I got a few in this kill.
The dmg on your pet is really spiky, so it's all about doing max phys mitigation, since all the magic dmg is negated from it being a non player.
@adewihj Aye, I fiddled a little bit and was able to keep it up a bit longer than before, I am below FL gear, about 362 ilvl so that could do with upping a bit. One thing i noticed too was that i didnt have cower on autocast, is that needed for the dmg mitigation?
@dartemis7690 I didn't have cower on auto cast, the best thing is to use it for stomps and with auto cast on you risk it being used before a stomp.
And higher Ilvl gear = more stam for your pet too, which turns into more healing from mend pet, so if you are having issues with staying alive, you might need a little more hp (note that I used all the scrolls and buffs that would give me more hp and dmg output)
did blizzard nerf hunters or something after you did this? I hit 85 with my hunter last week and got average item level 360 now and I wanted to try this but he enrages at 20% for me, and you did this with 346 >.<
I started working on this back when i used 346, cause I knew about the pet not being effected about the debuff. so I wanted to see how far I could go with it, as we progressed into T11, I switched main and my hunter started to get more and more geared.
That kill I used an avg Ilvl of 370 I think - basicly missing two pieces to be BiS in T11.
As for hunter nerfs, they made CA only effect to 90% and not 80%.
Thanks for the info btw i don't know if it's the same but i tried to solo archavon 10man as survival specced which is my favorite but it doesn't have any self healing at all, so i thought of respeccing to either beastmastery for the 2% heal every 10 sec or MM for the chimmera shot which heals for 5% every time you use it.
@cytheriaa I have never really liked BM for solo, I used it for a bit, but it would mainly be to learn the fights, MM for me is what I'm used to and it works just as good as BM, you just gain more self healing and for me I do more dps.
Only downside is that your pet won't do alot of threat, so you have to use more md's than if you played BM.
@cytheriaa Been soloing that one quite a few times as MM every single time, the enrage was a pain in the start but it is a cakewalk in my gear now, just save deterrence for when he gets too close after grabbing your pet (KC is amazing for snap threat after he drops it on your turtle.

@dexter1mayham Yeah, Meteor slash is a 180 frontal cone, so as long as you stay out of it, burn will do next to no dmg on you.

@dtansey11 And for burn, with no debuff from the boss, spirit link + chimera shots is enough to heal you for the dmg burn does.

How did you spec your pet? The only problem I am having is my pet dying. Even if I keep mend pet on him constantly and am glyphed for it.

Just make sure you have at least 1/2 spirit bond and 2/3 hunter vs. wild, if that still is not enough, you can go 2/2 spirit.

@gladsheimz Think I used about 20 attempts to stay alive until the enrage timer (back when my hunter used to be my alt and I rocked 346 blues)
That kill took me about 3-4 hours to repeat, had to work around with specs and find one that didn't require a nearly perfect rng pull.
Overall I would say between 80 and 100 attempts

@cytheriaa I basicly worked towards living through the enrage time (6 mins) and then started working on my spec from there to gain more dmg output.
Turtle pet seems to be the best pet for this just because it has two cd's and thats just enough to cover for the stomps.
As for beating the enrage, you need to push around 19.8k - 20k DPS, so thats your goal to aim for :)
