of course, it's also often a reason you beat people of FIDE 2400~2500 in blitz (the constant zwischenzug searching and avoidance of "natural" continuations)
good game. i don't know about the "docking computer" concept generally, but for you i think it's really good. you're very good at finding strong tactical shots, but you occasionally let "is there anything stronger?" mean "i'm not going to think the more straightforward, forcing move all the way through." indeed, the "too many zwischenzug -> winning position collapses" is a theme in your losses, IMO.
It's good to see more of a focus on direct, forcing combinations. I've seen past games where you've seemingly ignored these "docking computer" ideas in pursuit of more obscure brilliancies.
Sometimes it would work, sometimes not, but your play seems much more solid with this new concept you've implemented.
@mlkchalk Yeah, it's a nice refreshing change for awhile. I want to see a Kasparov/Tal/Fischer or MORO style from KC. I think making solid forcing and complicated moves(solid for you, but complicated for them) would be a good strategy for 5 minutes as you said. Great game and congrats on the 'IM Krushing'
After watching this game and talking about it, i think i'll go and try some of these new idea's. Thanks for everything and all the work you put into this KC. U make more than i can even watch!
It's refreshing to see you play very forcefully like myself. I really think it's a great way to play in 5 minute or even bullet. People naturally like having choices and when you strip those choices away and force them to move pieces they don't want. It makes them more prone to blundering/mistakes.
@Drakenks But hold on.. the idea is not to play forcefully as such - just be aware of the guaranteed if-then sequences. Awareness is separate from a style of forcing. But I think Kasparov has described forcing moves as "hard pressing" which can be unpleasant for opponents. But often playing forcing moves can be damaging to one's position or not as positional as quieter moves. That is why I would be careful to recommend a style of forcing moves as opposed to an awareness of guaranteed if-thens.
my docking computer is too stroong and takes up valuble defensive stratagies which cause terrable blunders ! my docking computer is good but probably too good hahaha ! thanks kc !
Your docking computer concept makes looking deeper into the position FUN (sacrificial moves are often exciting to think about). I think the fun is the key here: it's a way of looking deep without the exhaustion (fun=not exhausting).
Brilliant. I don't know if I'm completely sold on the "forcing moves" however it's hard to refute the success it's brought you in the last few days. As well as a little new energy into your game which seems to be making your games much more enjoyable for you to play, or so it seems from the tone of your voice and the playstyle.
This is justice, someone so passionate and with such high level as you, actually improving himself from game to game. Someone so talented as you deserves to play chess on the highest level possible...use your docking computer in a two hours game and there will be miracles! :)
Today is the best I have seen you play. Such clear ideas that lead to pressure and solid positions. Keep it up, as a KC fan I want to see you get better and better.
Nice to see another win for the good guys! that IM didn't play too well though...he took so long on the clock and was just really coming up with mediocre moves.
Not only does you playing seem to improve thanks to the docking computer (which is surely going to enter general chess terminology very soon!), but it seems that one can actually hear it in your voice that you're taking this seriously (and that this is seriously taking you to new places). It's exciting to be able to follow this development live. Thanks!
your docking computer strategy looked like it really worked for you, at least I seemed to get a little more out of your commentary. They are easily visible moves but in blitz chess people seem to forget about them!
So is docking computer a term? When I first heard you say it I thought you were using a computer on the side.. or something. (Which I know you wouldn't, why would you?)
@ddstar No I am not using a literal computer - just a concept. I am trying to consider the guaranteed if-then variations which I am calling a "docking computer" for nostalgic reasons from the game that used to be on the BBC Micro called Elite. Please see video link in description for the base video before these last blitz videos for more info.
Of all hundreds of videos I've seen of you playing 5 min chess I must say that these new ideas you have when playing makes it's so more intresting to watch. It's just lovely to hear all your analysis. I really hope you can maintain this rating and maybe boost it a bit from time to time. Maybe we can see docking computer games against GMs soon! Keep up your wonderful play!
I think that you are becoming a lot better teacher and player now that you are using the concept docking computer. I have learned more from your past few games than I have from any others. Keep up the good work and crush those kings!
Phenomenal show kingscrusher - the more you played, the more enthused I became. Moreover, your videos act as a brilliant study guide for the wonderful art of chess. Very much appreciated.
@pawnscrusher Yes I seem to be setting myself up as if I am cheating(!). But if you check out Kotov's "Think like a Grandmaster", I felt that book wasn't as much how GMs thought, but rather how computers think in terms of millions of candidate moves. What is being proposed here is a tiny subset of Kotov's "Think like a Grandmaster" - the "easiest possible to calculate" - i.e. the "guaranteed if-then" sequences. But for the purpose mainly of improving insight of tactical vulnerabilities.
I have to admit that I was skeptical about this whole "docking computer" idea. It didn't seem to be saying anything new: calculating one step farther than your opponent is often the difference that wins games. But it really looks like it has some concreteness to it now - these last few strings of wins have been phenomenal! Over 2300 on the autopairing must be a record for you, you're usually at 2200 yeah? Congratulations!
Yes, to be honest, it has shocked me as well in terms of actual results recently in the last few games. My main thought processes are still related to "strategic crush" - which I hope is still evident. But as an *added tool* especially when there are tactical vulnerabilities, then it seems very useful to gain insight into those. And if no real insights are returned that that can be taken as meaning the opponent's position is solid / full of prophylaxis. Also when insights are revealed...
@kingscrusher then that seems to help understanding of tactical vulnerabilities which in turn increases anticipation and alertness for when specific conditions are met for things that didn't previously work, to work, and be useful.
@gentilguy It is - my connection became a bit less stable after this game, and then sunday dinner came up. I didn't yet lose a tonne in a row - but probably that is going to happen I think at this rating level. I will try and show those losses when they come up :)
Please refer to my video about "Chess World.net : The Importance of checking forcing variations (Guaranteed If-then sequences)" where I introduced a concept which seems to be proving useful ("docking computer")
@TyranikingPT if youre going to try to appear smart take the time to follow your own variation hxg5 , fxg5 , (Qxg5 , Qxg5 , Bxg5 , Bxc3) Bxg5 , Bxc3 and white is a knight down for nothing , but thanks for your attempted insight anyway .

Your level seems to be improving KC.
Keep the forcing moves in the picture, as well as the tactical liabilities.
And IMs can be perfectionists, but their level should make picking the right moves easier. Being an IM is no excuse whatsoever, on the contrary.
