  • that red dot wont hold up very long on that shotgun. Mine fell apart after two trips to the range

spent a bit more on a aimpoint, certified for 12GA

  • @AKchelseagrinSS

Mine is on the gun for the last 6 years and never gave up yet ....

  • I mounted this same red dot on my pellet gun lol

  • Very interesting. I've been researching home tactical gear for my 870 and recently started looking at red dots for assault rifles. Thought they were pretty cool (for lack of a better way to put it) and wondered just out of idle curiosity if one was made for shotguns. I've got a longer barrel for my 870 to take trap shooting so I wonder if a red dot would improve my shooting there (kind of half joking, but I am honestly curious).

  • @striketeamstudios

All you have to do is to pop out the 2 receiver pins (make sure the triger assembly holes stay align )

and put the scope mount on place with the 2 threaded pin/screw that come with the mount and your done !

  • nice!!!

  • on both of them

  • Can you add a heat sheild on the Express Magum or just on the Express Tactical ?

  • it looks very nice you have good taste

  • buck shot does not require red dot...simply aim at what u want to be obliterated and squeese the trigger if u do not see immediate results...find a bigger gun

  • lol dont forget to enter your text here XD

  • That's a cool mount, but I imagine it would wobble too much with scopes when firing slugs. Is that the case?

  • I don't really like the looks of the M870 w/ red dot. I like how the pump racking sounds just like in Doom tho :)

  • I got a tasco red dot on the way...I should get it tomorrow!!!!!...can't wait

gonna put it on my ruger 10/22 charger

  • excuse me for being a gun noob, but is that a shotgun, or a sniper rifle?

  • Shot gun

  • That is not a scope, its a laser sight and it helps to aim quick at a target, a flying partridge for instance.

  • ok, thanks, that makes more sense.

  • what kind of optic mount is that?

  • sry about all the spelling mistakes , its 12 at night , im tired

  • thats why mossbergs loose acuraccy after long term use , because there barrols are poor quality compared to the remiungton , and why do you need 2 extractor claws , it does not make a difference , the shell ejects either way, the extractor claw argument is the stupiest thing ive ever heard , the only downfall is on the police model , plastic triger guard , kind of a dumb idea , it looks stupid and looks very uncomfortable. but remington is they way 2 go , there super cheap and super durable

  • It is not stupid when you have a claw break you out of the game dead or both.

The Remignton does only have one claw and they break very often with hard use. At least if you have two and one fails you are still in the game. Other then the Single claw flaw which for the life of me I do not know why Remington just does not FIX THAT. The Remington is a tank for sure.

  • mehhh ive never heard of one breaking , but im sure it happens on like police issue guns and stuff

  • man , im not even lying i have the exact same set up as you remington 870 12 gauge , truglo red dot mounts and red and green dot scope , 42mm , with a rifeled slug barrol, it has the synthetic stocks 2

  • i think your running the stock barrol? , maybe open choke to use rifeled slugs?

  • Well done video I have a 3 Mossberg 500's and after 30 years I cannot put mine together that fast well done indeed.

  • believe it or not ! I Saw The Sight Mount At Our Super walmart, For the 870,also carry one,i Think for the mossburg

  • Thats one beautiful Remington!

  • Thank you

  • red dot=extending the range of a combat shotgun. Instead of a home defence, you can defend your homestead. Hit enemies quickly at 100 yards with rifled slugs or 75 yards with cyote buckshot.

  • That sight is a little bulky.

  • nice shotgun wish i had one

  • Ready to rock

  • good video i like it ..

  • The guy that said Mossbergs are unreliable is silly. I have a 12 ga. from each of the two companies. I like them both. As far as I know, both have supplied thousands upon thosands of shotguns to law enforcement/military organizations and both are actually known for their reliability. I think it ultimately comes down to personal preference. And don't ask me because I obviously couldn'y decide...I got both! >=P

  • pretty badass

  • Quick question: about :34 to 1:17

Does that metal casing that lets you attach the BKRD42RGD to your 870 come with purchase of the sight, or is that an external piece that needs to be purchased?

If it is external, what is that piece called and where can one purchase it?

  • No, it comes seperate from the red dot sight. You can buy this in most gun shop

Its the remington 12-gauge Shotgun Scope Mount. It will fit the Model 870™, 1100™ and 11-87.

  • checkout my mossberg with a red dot sight, my gun looks better..... you tell me, ( =

  • Yeah ? but mine is way better quality than yours.....:) Joke apart you got one set up there, like you said yours is made for burglar hunting, i only shoot deers and small game with mine . Nice gun !

  • does it preform better. Mossbergs have been known as very unreliable firearms. I'm not trying to put you down im just telling you the facts.

  • everybody check this... whats your source? don't beat around the bush, only a fuck tard would say such a moronic thing with no source or actual facts, i'm not tyring to put you down, but you have little knowledge of firearms. Remingtions and Mossebergs perform identical, same service life, both cost around the same price, and both companies make clones (just molded metal with no milling to cut the cost) of the models. So please, go see my page, see all the guns i own, and slap yourself. ( =

  • thats why mossberg is the only shotgun to pass the marine combat 3000 round trial. You dont know shit.

  • What Facts?

Mossberg was the ONLY one to pass the Miltary TEST of 3,000 rounds non stop.

Mossberg has DOUBLE CLAW extractor the others do not they have single claw that does break.

What Facts are you reading. I have 3 Mossbergs one is 30 years old and thousands of rounds never broke or failed once in that time.

    1-30 year old perfect function.

    1-20 year old perfection function.

1- 10 year old perfect function.

  • wile thats truu and I JUST picked up my Remington up from the shop because it had a broken extractor claw i would still prefer the remington to the mossberg it seems better built and more reliable sorry guy

  • Not a problem you should ALWAYS get what YOU want it is a choice and you will be shooting it.

    All the best,

  • Great video except if that is a Tasco BKRD42RGD then you have it mounted backwards.

  • Its not mounted backwards, i always shoot my gun with the barrel facing my face ........

  • Is the saftey switch plastic or metal?

  • always metal plastic posses a risk of breaking by the way it is pushed to be on safe or fire

  • I know how shitty plastic is that's why I asked. I know how a fuckin' saftey works. Did I mention anything about using it incorrectly or how to use it? NO. Not all guns come with a metal saftey genius. That's why I asked. Mossberg is a good example of showing a plastic saftey on their new models. Did you know that Knowitall?

  • srry dude if i offened you i just wanted to answer your question maybe you didnt know or something srry. I have this type of shotgun so just giving the news around that it is a metal saftey device

  • i got an 870 with a candilever barrel i have a bushnell banner for the slug barrel but, heres the problem i got a smooth bore also and i bought a red dot sight for that and there is no mount i can find to mount it on the barrel HELP PLEASE

  • i have a Remington 870 Express 20ga good gun i pad $349.99

  • i sold those at academy for $199

  • 12ga or 20ga ?

  • 12 guage

  • how much did you get the red dot and the shotgun for?

  • 450$ cdn for gun and 50$ cdn for dot and 50$ for rail mount

  • yea got mine like that but its gunna take me a while to get use to it and get that muscle memory down not sure if i can use it for deer hunting but ill have to check

  • Sweetage..... Checkout my vid. ( =

  • Nice Video. What type of rail did you use to mount your red dot scope? I have a Tasco Red Dot and I'm trying to put it on a Picatinny Rail by mesatactical. But it's not working?

  • Its the remington 12-gauge Shotgun Scope Mount. It uses a Weaver style railing mount which is slightly different than yours (spacing of the slots) and is made to mount red dots, and others

  • i justr got this today and i got the tasco 42 mm redot too. ive got mine on a remington 1187 sportsman

  • awesome weapon, i will own one of these babies soon to.

  • what is that rail system called?

  • Its the remington 12-gauge Shotgun Scope Mount. It will fit the Model 870™, 1100™ and 11-87.

  • very nice

  • thats a really nice sight setup you have there i like how it hugs the receiver, hey i was gonna buy the exact same sight for my ak-47, how has it been since you've used it? any or mush problems? thanks

  • I had no prob. whit it, pretty reliable. I use it mostly for partridge hunt,it let you aim and shoot fast with both eyes open, thats why the 42mm view. i find the 11 levels of brightness pretty useless, i always use the brighter, and the battery last verry long in there

  • thats good

  • nice but i was wandering if the thing on top of the barrel i think its conected to the front sight beed can it be taken off?

  • The function of the ventilated rib is to provide a better sighting plane for the eye to follow along when aiming the shotgun, as well as minimizing the heat transfer from the barrel to the rib. It cannot be removed

  • oh that sucks.

  • Actually, in the past they use to charge way more for a gun with a vent rib , but now it is just common on almost all shotguns (except for slug or deer barrel). In my opinion its better to have one than not.

  • oh cause i was going to buy a 870 and was thinking what to buy and i had seen a shotgun like yours but was wondering if the ventilated rib could take off cause i wanted to make it in to a tactical shotgun with a extended magazine and a top folding stock from ATI and well that ventilated rib would just look ugly in a tactical shotgun. well at least to me. but i see if i can find one with out it. and thanks for the info.

  • If you want to make it a tactical gun, get one with the slug barrel witch is shorter and without a vent rib. you can modify these guns at will

  • cool but what is the difference with the slug barrel and how short is it i length? and would you know how much they cost?

  • Keep it. It is a good barrel and you should have at least two or more they last a lifetime and are very low cost.

I have ribbed, 18.5 inch and ported rifle sight barrel all smooth bore.
