This is not the "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" I was looking for. I was looking for the hymn written by Charles Welsey and the tune, "Lyra Davidica".
What beautiful music! How can they even try and say that the guitar and drums in Church is better than this? I hope they render account for the perversion of this sacred music which shakes the soul and moves it close to God the omnipotent!
There's more to playing a hymn than sequencing the score and then repeating it ad nauseum for several verses with no registration changes or life in the music
Thanks for making a very valid comment. We change registrations on verses of some tunes if it's appropriate but don't usually fool around too much - it can be distracting and a bit self-indulgent when organists make that a priority :)
Sorry if our comment (above) sounded kind of snooty....Hi-Fi Hymn Book's a non-profit organization that makes hymn accompaniment available at no cost to smaller churches etc. We try to keep the playing as simple as possible because the focus for us is always on the singing, and not the organ performance. Hope that explains why we do what we do a little better.

I like this - thanks so much. The church in our area has only one pianist and she is gone to Florida 6 months out of the year so it is so helpful to have recordings!
Well that is indeed a problem, mass without the organ is nasty, the Organ adds that touch doesn't it? Today it is so hard to find an organist, and the Church isn't helping because they promote music in guitars and drums, before you know it we will be dancing around bonfires!
@HiFiHymnBook I appreciate your nonprofit work. It is a mistake that organists change registration to show off. Each verse has it´s own character and therefore its own registration. Just look at the diffrent moods of the St Anne Hymn / variying organcolours do even more justice to the prose of a hymn.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (May 8), I played this for Sunday School assembly.
