everything has power band, because all it is is the area of rpm's that the motor puts out the most power, it just really noticable on a two stroke because it doesn't kick in until the high rpms, and it's kicked in by the clutch

wtf are you talking about? Do some research. A 2-stroke powerband has nothing to do with the clutch. Once you release it, thats it. You know where powerband comes from? Two-strokes have expansion chamber pipes. When the engine hit's a certain rpm, theres a "sonic wave" that bounces off the end cone of the pipe back into the cylinder through the exhaust port. It goes in while the piston is on its up stroke, forcing air into it and increasing compression, etc. Then the cycle repeats.

well your mechanic is a dumbass.

The pipe on a 2 stroke is tuned to resonate at a certain frequency which correlates to a specific RPM. this sonic wave keeps the fresh fuel air mixture from flowing out the exhuast. It all works pretty well, but isnt' perfect that is why 2 strokes pollute alot more than a 4 stroke (not to mention the burning oil). It also explains why you can get a torque (low end) and rev (high end) pipe.

You do know im not talking about the 50, im talking about 250's, 125's, banshee's, etc. I never worked on a little 50 2-stroke so I couldnt tell you how they work. But bigger 2-strokes work on the sonic wave, and if you still wont listen to me im not wasting my time. Your a lost cause.
