I don't usually smoke when my kid's in the car (maybe only on a really long ride, & if for some reason we can't stop). If I do, it's ALL windows open fully.
My mom & stepdad BOTH smoked in the car w/windows up - it sucked. However, if I'd have said some things to them that some kids (mine or not) have said to me in the TONE they've used, I'd have gotten a Guinea backhand & lost a few teeth!
Smoking's bad, but that's no excuse for allowing kids to be *disrespectful* to adult smokers.
Whether you smoke with the windows up/down it still is not a good look. There is no reason why a parent should smoke around their children period. I think the addiction overrides the common sense factor.

I cant stand when people smoke with the children in the car. 2nd hand smoke has worse effects than actual smokers
