Somebody else care to reply to this question? I'm not the best to describe it. Read Acts chapter 2. It's a series of gifts given after seeking the Lord. These gifts are for empowerment for service. You can't accomplish some things without them because we don't know how to pray properly.

@vividcreativity13 Acording to Peter Acts 2:38 theres 2 steps to take 1.repent 2.baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. After this it can happen any where the Holy Ghost decends it might be at a church, it might be when your being baptised in water or trough the laying of hands. What is it? its speaking an unknown tounge!

Thank God i received the baptism in Jesus name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost about 30 years ago and still to this day. It's is real. He is real. I'll never turn back. It's for all who will believe. Acts 2:4, 2:38.

tavasi11151969...u have to rightly divide the Word..there are many scriptures that say we are saved by believing.no works.....now with that said lets look @ the scripture u gave...it says he who doesnt believe is damned..not he who is not baptized is damned..i wonder why?....in Acts 9...as the Word went forth the people spoke in tongues!!..THEN they were baptized...As they believed,they were saved!..u think God cant save a man that repents unless he is around water?..Acts 9 rids ur formula

this was a great and blessing to hear and to see that god is still god and he does what he wont when he wonts, but we as people have to obey the word of god not man we always are putting words in the bible that you cannot find there are meanings, there are many of god people that are still reciving the true holy ghost acording the act 2. this day god has not change has promise.man is trying to. you can only be filled with the holy ghost according to act 2. theres is no another one.

Azusa was in 1906, the Holy Ghost outpouring on the East Coast took place in 1903. It took place in Cherokee County NC and Tenn. This is where the Church of God of Prophecy, Church of God, and other Pentecostal denominations started. This was three years before Azusa. Anything that takes place in Los Angeles is going to get attention. We want to thank God for his outpouring but understand that God is not limited to just Azusa. I am sure there were other outpourings that preceed 1903.

You know what's sad about some of you all's beliefs on baptism... some of you tell people that they are not saved because they weren't baptized in Jesus' name ONLY. THAT is why the Oneness movement is dangerous to some. "Trinity" holiness doesn't focus on the baptism, although important, but salvation comes BEFORE the baptism! What's said during baptism is HARDLY important since God is God and Jesus' BLOOD cleanses from ALL evil! There is no "ONENESS" or "TRINITY" baptism, just baptism... period

For the most part, I agree with you. I don't personally know anyone who claims you have to be baptized in water or in the Holy Ghost to be saved. I don't agree with that theology. I do believe you're more effective for God if you have all his tools for service: faith, prayer, baptism in Spirit, and so on.

And I agree with you, as well. A Christian needs the Holy Ghost to go to Wal-Mart... seriously. The Holy Ghost Baptism is important and water baptism is significant, but I just don't understand the oneness position... at all. I've searched out both sides and I just don't see the foundation to say you MUST be baptized in Jesus' name ONLY. It's a shame to have to ask "are you oneness or trinitarian". Both terms are frivolous and not worth dividing over. I am "trinitarian" but it's not my banner.

Don't allow religious doctrine and/or tradition keep you from the power of God. By faith we are declared righteous(Genesis 15:6) but we are saved by God's grace. It is a free gift from God. (Acts 15:11, Romans 1:5, Romans 3:24) It is possible to fall from God's grace.(Galatians 5:4, Mark 4:17, 1 Corinthians 10:12) I know it's a lot of look up. You can search it all on BibleGateway. com. Search, faith, grace, fall. We have to guard our spirits and not be led astray. I'll write more...

The Holy Spirit is a person in the Holy Trinity. He is the source of our spiritual power. Without him we are powerless men holding on to religious writings and doctrine. (Luke 11:13, Acts 5:3) Just search Holy Spirit and power. It's all the difference. Don't believe what church says. Talk to God and then believe what He says. It's man of God goes to church. No doubt man. I wasn't trying to preach sorry. Actually just trying to share some knowledge. Truly I do think that if your truly saved you should not go back but people do. It's not about what we think, it's about what the Bible says.

Between brothers, I think some people get that in their head, once saved always saved means they can do whatever now and there's no consequence. That's most definitely wrong.
