  • He kinda looks like Ferrer in this video.

  • most beautiful backhand ever!

  • Beautiful Forehand!!!!!!!

  • what kind of racket is haas playing with in this video?

  • best back hand just saying

  • @asdasdasd546 A butterfly.

  • 1:12 i dont get why people dont try that more often

  • @RobbieCopple i think with that kind of return, a player would probably approach the net, and with the drop shot return it would be game over.

  • @asdasdasd546 that was a butterfly

  • perfect form on all shots my god....

  • update: hes playing this week at the BMW Open in Munich. he's only doing doubles (w/ stepanek) and seeing how his body feels

  • Where is he now? retired?

  • @SolsburyHill22 he's playing in the tournament next week in germany. he was out for 14 months w/ an injury. it'll be good to have him back!

  • everyday i look at this video to improve my shots when i'm practicing and it helps a lot :)

  • @lavayen900 Can't have a better model for strokes than him!

  • How fast do you reckon he is serving in this clip?

  • I like his technique very much!!!

  • he is old, should retired, he cannot compete with the young player now. it's sad half of his carier was beeing injured.

  • @FeFabregas he's not old. 50 years old, is old.

  • poor man federer

  • Isn't the other tennis player nicolas kiefer?

  • @Qampunen I think it's Radek Stepanek

  • Yeah, you're right. My mistake :)

  • @Qampunen It's Rado Stepanek, the sexiest player ever.

  • very graceful how he uses his left hand to set up the racquet for his bh topsin. Is Tommy injured at the moment? Does he plan to comeback?

  • i like. As soon as he sees how the ball is coming he sets up his forehand/bh

  • I would love to take it from him up the ass after he finishes as hot sweaty workout.

  • great video congratulations

  • What grip is he using guys?

  • check out the two greedy bastards running for the ball that went out at 1'18

  • nalbandian sucks. bad attitude. changes coach too much. lazy. doesnt diet.

  • he doesn't turn his shoulders as much as a lot of the pro's. Hits pretty far in front too.

  • I wish I could serve (and volley) like Haas... ^_^

  • My tennis coach used to be roommates with tommy haas in the nick bolliteria or w/e academy my coach didn't go pro because he had a wrist injury, I feel bad for him D:

  • GOOD CLEAN HITTING!

wish i got to see him in his prime :(

  • @bigpeezyweezy

thats the sad thing about haas, he never got to reach his prime

everytime he starts playing well, he gets injured

  • @foul01

    cant blame him

he took off like 4 years for his sick mom or something if i recall correctly

  • @bigpeezyweezy

exactly, of the players born of the same era (federer, roddick, safin, hewitt, ferrero) he's one potential no.1 that was never given the chance

nalbandian, on the other hand, simply had no excuse

  • @foul01 Nalbandian is a great player when on form but he's simply not good enough to have been number 1. He isn't consistent enough, his movement has been below average most of his career, weak serve and suspect forehand. Could have won a slam but number 1 was always out of the question.

  • @bigpeezyweezy He took parts of the 2002 season off, basically ruined his year and then shoulder problems took him out of 2003, returned in 2004.

  • lol if you dont look at his body he almost seems like federer when he has the headband and free flowing hair.

  • why is he hitting with a Dunlop?

  • haas has a great playning style. i really love watching him.

  • i didn't know ethan hawke had such a nice tennis game.

  • 0:44 Butterfly

  • 0:43 WTF?

  • pretty sure the other guy is radek stepanek

  • the female grunting.... mm

  • why practice with that hairy guy

i forgot his name cuz it's not worht remembering

but that guy has a racket NO ONE KNOWS, hits super old school... and is just weird

    ohh i remember it's stepanek

  • radek, put your shirt back on please!

  • I mistook him as Federer in the beginning. lol

  • I want that backhand.

  • @jeneye224

    me to :D

  • dat ass

  • tommy has incredible feeling oO

  • lol i can hear venus in the background

  • @limewireomochao Venus and Serena don't play this tournament. So it's someone else you are hearing.

  • @gene4991 yh i think im goin crazy, is this the indian wells tourney ?

  • if i looked like tommy haas id be proud to take my shirt off!!!!

  • 0:42....... thats 1 fast butterfly....

  • hes not doing the five fundamentals, hes shoulders arent turning enough

  • dude his opponent needs to cover that chest...

  • hes an american now :) hell ya

  • @DunShootPlz i thought he was german

  • his backhand is very powerful but i think it looks ugly, it looks nothing like federers

  • @MrPURECONTROL your kidding right? both Federers and Haas's backhands look amazing, and federer doesnt even have the best looking one hander, i would say Gasquet does

  • @Thephiphi no, haas is soo stiff and his backhand is powerful but ugly,Gasquet has a great looking backhand and its more powerful than federers bu t federers looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better

  • such a smooth looking backhand

  • Christ he looks like federer here (with shirt on)

  • tommy haas got great strokes

  • What grip is he using for his forehand?

  • yep. agreed with u nextman916

  • haas strokes are so textbook, its great to watch.

  • stephanek has nice feel but he doesnt have the power of some of his fellow players

  • lol radeks too hairy to show off his body

  • his slice serve on the deuce side is amazing

  • doesnt use much of the wrist for forehand does he?

  • 0:44 there something flying across the screen

  • i think it's a ladybug, lucky!

  • @bimbim007 it was a butterfly =D a SUPER FAST butterfly

  • Stepanek looks likes he's wearing a sweater. Somebody tell him to put a shirt on.

  • Is that... Stepanek?

  • Yep, it's Radek.

  • why are both tommy and his opponent half naked...

and I PLAYED ON THAT COURT! indian wells baby

  • stop showing off please

  • 4:43 lol

  • Comment removed

  • I mean 1:17

  • 1:58 That's pretty nice.

  • I never get tired of seeing a good one-handed backhand

  • feds and Toms backhands are almost identical

  • why does every pro i watch hit foot fault in practice? is it just kuz its pracitce?

  • okay so, i copy nadal sometimes when i hit a running forehand and sometimes thats wat ever pro does, sometimes you cant follow through to the shoulder

  • Federer is more talented and smooth. i don't like Haas' step just before serving! Too much movement. Haas is an instinctive player but lacks the discipline of Federer and raw power of Roddick. Haas, unfortunately, is one of the few old school players left. It's great to see guys like him and Federer beat all those 2 HB robots. Tennis should not be about power. It should be about skillful, creative shots and volleys. Baseline rallies are boring!

  • i agree except for the part about 2hb robots..

  • it's because of the movement he's able to create great power on his serve. It's a way to throw in his body weight. I don't get what's wrong with that. anyay, his tennis is beautiful to see, as you say, he's able to hit any shot he wants. but i also love 2h bh. they're great! nalbandian, safin, davydenko, are a pleasure to watch

  • here he is still playing with dunlop, when he changed to the head something good happened in his results.. really like this guys tennis

  • now thats sexy hitting. Great stroke, very smooth, at first I thought it was Rfed in the beginning.

  • I just had to say this... what a great ball striker... such smooth strokes... awesome

  • radek stepanek is a good practice partner

  • I think ou should do more videos on tommy haas. hes a very good player and hes a good model player

  • smooth hitting

  • Solid flat forehand!

  • Go Haas ! Your lady is hot yo

  • 3:49 cuidado tomy con la pelotita !! me acuerdo en un toneo q te hiciste mierda el tobillo x pisar una pelotita mientras sacabas =S

  • that was warming up in 2007 wimbledon against roger federer

  • ?????

  • What grip does he use on the backhand

  • does anybody know where this is?

  • Indian Wells, CA

  • thx...the college there is great!!

  • @CSLOV i heard tommy haas got married this past summer if so much happiness to them both

  • too bad he's 31 or something hes playing really good

  • loool 3:25 five balls in his left pocket :D!!!

  • that is one sweet backhand

  • I don't understand why tommy haas keeps a dunlop sign on a head racket.

  • That was towards the beginning of the FO. Towards the end he used a HEAD stencil and also at the Championships Wimbledon.

  • i think its because he's experimenting with a radical as well as his but has a contract with dunlop, so he had to put up the dunlop sign.

  • stepanek is so hairy D:

  • hahaha, the sexy 80's

  • Wow, what a pretty backhand...that is the most beautiful backhand I've ever seen from any pro player. And I like Haas' little hops when he hits his forehands. No shame losing to Fed in the semis; hope this is just the beginning of his comeback.

  • Stepanek is playing shirtless on the other side? Whats he going to tuck into his shorts now? ;)

  • No..... Haas is playing shirtless....

    sigh.

  • Tommy Haas in now in the semifinal at Wimbledon ..a great performance for him..he beat nole to get there...it was a great match ..it has ended a few menutes ago :):D

  • T. Haas' backhand looks very similar to Fed's backhand or at least closest to any other player.

  • Definitely. The difference is that neither he nor any other player uses the left are as a counter-weight quite as well as Federer. Henin's is pretty damn good though. Actually Haas's forehand is quite similar to Fed's also.

  • I like how haas hits the balls. Too bad he didnt win a grandslam. He got a bad injury early in his career right?

  • A bad injury for his parents died in a car accident when he was in his peak. That quite took him that year away.

  • they didn't die they nearly got killed.

  • When did Haas change from Dunlop to Head? Because now in the Roland Garros he's using head.

  • How will he go playing the Fed in the French today.

  • His shoes with a shirt are Air max breathe free IIs. Without a shirt air max breathe cage IIs

  • W/ shirt: Nike Air Max Breathe Cage I's

W/O shirt: Nike Air Max Breathe Cage II's

  • we have the same serving motion. thanks FYB!

  • is he hitting an inside out serve? what serving grip ? eastern ?

  • I agree sak079, nice technique, very classic. He reminds me of Bjorn Borg.

  • So much talent. Incredible technique. Such a shame he's never won a grandslam or really lived up to the talent he has.

  • Does anyone know what shoes Tommy is wearing?

  • NIke Air Max Breathe Cage I's and II's

  • When he has a shirt on they're Breathe Cage II. I'm pretty sure he's wearing IIs when he's shirtless, but they might be cage III... hard to tell

  • Haas does have great technique. Watching this vid allows me to vizualize my strokes and IMM hit better. These are great, thanks FYB.

  • same here

  • hes got that serene and graceful feel. love his strokes!!! beautiful technique

  • nice technique indeed!

  • ive watched him in person at Bollettieri, hes got really perfect form

  • if you guys wanna check out a better video of federer warming up, and hes not hitting hard check out federer warming up part 1 of 4 in youtube search engine. ive never seen anything like it before.

  • I checked that out...imo not that great, the video quality was shoty, but fed warming up, not to bad.

  • The Dunlop Aerogel racquet he plays with is so sweet.

  • Don't be fooled. He's using custom rackets from dunlop. You can't buy his racket in the store.

  • oh absolutely. lots of pros have so want so many specifications on their racquets. The aerogels in general are outstanding

  • geez he couldnt get those serves in for a second! Still its a beautiful serve..

  • I notice in the first part of the vid he's using a white overgrip. In the second(shirtless) he is using the classic light blue of TournaGrip. Odd...

  • the white overgrip is called tourna-tac

  • thanks- i use the white turnatac myself and its great. i wonder why he would switch between the two? Maybe b/c it was cool in the morning and used turnatac and than hot so he used tournagrip.

  • great vid!! I love you FYB!! You guys are the best!! just one thing-how do you make the video run smoother?

  • it depends on your video card dude. The better the video card you have for your comp the faster it will run

  • Topless tennis FTW!

  • Geez, what a backhand

  • truly mind-boggling
