my sisters guinea pig has the same big shiny eyes :) when he is happy while she is holding him he popcorns, flips around, and he licks her hand with his little guinea pig tongue. he is ADORABLE

That sound is called chutting, that means they are content, so its a good thing! Look at my videos of my guinea pig Phoenix he makes this noise as well, it is cute!

Don't worry about her, she's happy. :) I'm kinda amazed since you just got her and all, it took weeks for my guinea pigs to start chattering to me. So it's a really good sign she already trusts you and sees you as her friend.

HELP! i just got a new guinea pig today... his name is Leaumoon (moon for short) he will only do things when his cage has a towl over the whole thing! i looked in it and he looked at me and then ran in to his little house... i am gonna see him again, if he runs in to the house again, i am gonna leave it covered for an hour (don't worry, i love animals so i wont kill him)

When we first got our guinea pig, he would run into his house whenever we walked by or came close. Just be patient, once you give him time he will be less scared. He just needs time to adjust. Ours isn't scared anymore, just take him out everyday to bond with him. Maybe don't keep the cage covered all the time though?

My guinea pigs always used to hide, even though we would hold them regularly. They were always friendly and calm when being held (purring and chattering), but seemed to like to hide.

thats the sme thing my guinea pig does. hes fine while hes on me and when i hold him but when he is in his cage he always hides and cowers when i go to pick him up. hes a strange guinea pig lol!

@wowa0401 Thank you ! Too Cute! It helpled 7 yr old Charlie get back to health and popcorning temporarily . It helped myself and a lonely piggie during his ox critical care feedings,antibiotics,and finally gastric stasis before he went into gastric stasis.and I rushed to put him to" sleep". He would poke his head up and listen and most times eat a little on his own. It was strange to see him so busy running around even though he was not eating much. love cheryl

purring is happy - if she tooth chatters thats bad, and loud squeals are their way of saying "HEEEEY!" These are def happy sounds though, she is beautiful, you should look into a C&C cage they're cheap and an amazing home for pigs!
