The Democrats were able to take back the presidency by voting as far left as they could. I don't see why the Republican party shouldn't do the same if they want to win again. They need to secure the base they've lost over the past few years. This guy seems like the right's version of Obama. Whether we agree with him or not.
Honestly, I think people on the left and right are going to be surprised to see that Obama is more moderate than what they thought. Even tonight you saw Senator Boxer question Obama on a supposed "turnaround" on Afghanistan.
Jindal is an extremist to the right who supports abortion bans that make no exceptions for rape victims or for women who have life threatening conditions.
I am glad to see the national media being critical of Jindal, he has gotten a free pass for far too long.
Yes but if Pro-lifers believe that abortion is murder, than of course they would make no exceptions. It's a difference of opinion is all. For them to agree on abortion in the cases of rape and mothers life issues, would to them, be like making an exception for murder in the case of an innocent. Which as far as I know, is not legal anywhere in the world. It's hard to make sense of something you don't believe in. But I don't think these views make Jindal a radical. Maybe other views he has?
A CBS poll showed that 54% of all Americans are pro-life, but that 34% of americans support life and rape exceptions. Another 16% support exceptions for just the womans life. so that is 40/54 = 74.1% of all pro-lifers support some exception to abortions. Only 4% of all americans want abortion illegal in all cases. JIndal is one of them.
In the pro-life world, Jindal is a radical. In the entirety of the political spectrum in the US, Jindal is a radical. Period.
I would argue that most conservatives are against it all together, but when questioned in a poll or conversation, make the exception so as to not get into a heated debate This kind of attitude is where the silent in "silent majority" came from. Not that polls have anything to do with reality. 89% of Americans believe in God, yet his mere mention in a scientific setting or reference to his name in an "educated" discussion is laughed at. Maybe the polls are wrong?? I have no clue.
I am sure the polls were not done in an atmosphere where the respondents felt they would get into a heated debate. I am sure that the poll is within the margin of error.
Personally, I would desire a world where 0 abortions take place. I just disagree that banning them is the best option. Education, not legislation, is needed.
Jindal & Palin are right on and will grow in popularity with the American people. Obama's success was a backlash to the Bush era and McCain's middle of the road politics. We'll be ready to make a strong come back in 2008 with the congress and Presidential elections.
The majority of the American electorate will reject Jindal and Palin both for their extremist stances on abortion. When you would refuse a woman the right to abort if raped OR if her life depended on it, you are far too extreme for leftists and moderates alike.
Just because both have the same point of view on god,gun,gay&pro-choice,that doesn't mean both r some kind a radical right-wing nuts.I have watched all Bobby interviewed that I can find on all major news cable networks, campaign ads&I have listen carefully on how he was answer all the ? on anythings&I never once thought that he was some kind a radical right-wing nuts.Palin on the other hand was failed so badly 2 explain her point of view&that's why all the radical left wing nuts hated her so bad.
Just because Jindal is smarter than Palin in how he discusses his views to the media does not mean that he is not a radical right winger. For one thing, the media doesn't ask him the questions about his religious feelings and how they would apply to his service in public life.
I have researched Jindal's political career since 2003. If you support a policy of "no abortions, no exceptions", that automatically qualifies you as a radical right winger. Don't you agree?
No!I think U&Hussein supporters r the most radical left wing nuts of u can get.Let me guess,ur a gay man&supports gay right&support anybody that wanted 2 kill their own unborn babies right? Have u ever watched how the Dr. performed an abortion at all? It the most sickening things u can think of.Why do we need 2 have million&million of an abortion taken place each&every yrs anyway? How about used the F.condom, birth conntrol pills&many other things 2 protect themself or how about an adoptions?
I support the reduction of abortions to the ideal number of 0. However, I do not support criminalizing the act.
I support teaching people about all birth control methods (including but not limited to abstinence) and I also support offering adoption as an option to women seeking an abortion as well.
Have u ever heard him 2 explain himself why he supported pro-life? UR assuming that he will make all abortion an illegal,if he ever 2 become the next president.I guess he will say something like this, first we need 2 give that person all the help she can get & help her 2 make the right choice 4 her & her family & hopefuly she will decided 2 keep her own baby or let her boy friends or her family keep the baby or put up for adoption, instead of an abortion. Is that sound so radical 2 u?
Yes, I have heard him explain himself on the his abortion stance. In fact he directly answered a question of mine when I called in to a radio show early in his career.
Your guess about Jindal's response is 100% incorrect. Jindal does not support choice when it comes to abortion. Jindal supports criminalizing abortion in all cases. Even if the girl is raped. Even if the pregnancy is life threatening. Even for incest (which is often caused by rape).
pt 2) Jindal strictly follows the teachings of the Catholic Church on abortions and openly embraces that view.
On issues like "ectopic pregnancy", he does not "morally" consider the most invasive procedure available to be an abortion because it doesn't "target the embryo" (his words). However, he does not support less invasive treatments of ectopic pregnancy that are most often utilized before the tube ruptures. Jindal would dictate to a doctor how he should best save a womans life.
pt 3) Do you think it is appropriate for a person who is not a doctor to dictate to a doctor how to best treat a woman facing a life threatening condition?
Well, Bobby Jindal does. This is what helps make him a radical right winger. Because even in cases where the woman will die if the condition is left untreated, Jindal would force HIS religious beliefs on others via the law and require a doctor to use the most invasive options when less invasive options are available. That is just wrong.
This video proof nothings for me and million of people that have any brain at all. If u really wanted 2 know all the truth about all the candidates and what exactly that they believed in or who are this people really r,u have u have all the people from all side and that included the person itself so they can defending his or her record.
There are many examples of Jindal giving his side of the story. I am giving mine. I would suggest you go read what he says and research what I say and look at other comments as well. Get a complete picture before making your conclusion. Because so far you are only basing your opinion on what the pro-Jindal people say.
2 be honest with you,I have never heard of anybody name Bobby Jindal until I saw him on CNN,when after got elected 2 be the new governor of LA and I didn't think much about it until 2 week ago. The more I saw him on T.V the more I like him as a person. If Bobby Jindal is so radical, how come the people of LA voted for him in the first place? Who's exactly is Pro-Jindal people are anyway? U mean Hannity,Rush,Bill Oreily,Chris Matthew,Jay Leno,Wolf Blitzer,Laura Ingraham?
If you hadn't heard about him until recently then you honestly have not given yourself enough time to learn about him.
Jindal is radical, but the Louisiana Media often ignored his radical nature and just bought what the Jindal campaign was pushing. Several of them found out too late that they were wrong and that he was not sincere.
Pro Jindal people are those Republican pundits who are pushing him to be the next "star" of the party.
If u think Bobby Jindal is some kind of radical right wing nuts, then Barack Hussein Obama is a million time more radical than Bobby Jindal ever will be.
How come Chris matthews,Wolf Blitzer,Lay Leno and many others in the left wing media like him anyway?
Let me put it this way. I don't believed any words that came out of your stinky mouth period. What's your back ground anyway? Have u been or work for any news networks, newspaper, radio show, internet company on news or anythings like that so million of people can trust u on anythings. Why don't u & Bobby Jindal go on CNN,MSNBC or FOX news network & argue or debate with each other on every single issues and let the american people & the rest of the world 2 decide who's right or who's wrong.
I don't work for anyone in the media. The media as of yet has failed to to any research on Jindal so me, and others like me, have had to take it upon ourselves to learn the truth about Jindal and pass it on to others.
I would GLADLY debate Jindal on any of the major news stations.
U have no background in journalist and have no one in news network or anybody 2 back u up on anythings and u expected the whole world 2 take you very seriously. I think ur nothing more than a pure white trash, joke, bitter, redneck and son of a bitch.
The only things that Bobby Jindal&Palin have in common is they're both republican & have similar believed in god and that it. 2 compare someone like Bobb Jindal 2 Palin is an insult for most people in this world. If u wanted talk about who is the most radical between Barack Hussein Obama,Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal. I think Barack Hussein Obama won that by a million miles. He has the most radical ideas and has the most radical friends for over the past 20 yrs that really hated white america.
Bobby Jindal and Palin are both extremist religious conservatives who are a lot more alike than the Republican in the video would have you believe.
I will grant Jindal this. He is a much better speaker than Palin. He also knows a heck of a lot more than Palin. But at the end of the day, he supports the same extremist agenda as Palin.
U keep saying that both Jindal&Palin r extremist religious consevervatives&this&that all the time. How come everytime somone interview him,I don't remember him talk about gun,god,pro-life or anything like that? Just because he feel strongly on issues like gun,god,pro-life as a christian, that doesn't mean he will force his agenda on everybody else. Palin on the other hand like 2 talk about gun,god&pro-life all the time¬hing else. Look! I'm not even a republican, but I do like him as a person.
Yes, Jindal and Palin are religious extremists. Palin didn't talk about her faith every time she spoke either. But he would absolutely force his agenda on everyone else.
Let me put it this way. I will vote for Bobby Jindal over your radical left wing nuts Barack Hussein Obama anyday of the week. Let talk about who's the most radical are of them all. For me & million of both democrat & republican will have 2 agree on one things that Barack Hussein Obama is the one that's most radical of them all 2 ever become the next president. The main reason that they voted 4 him is because they think he can fix the economy & of course most people didn't like Bush either.
I actually like Bobby Jindal... I am or was until like a few weeks ago a registered rebpublican.. I am also a Christian so yes i think abortion is wrong but i do think it should be the choice of the parties involved.. not the goverment...
With that said ..I do think the GOP would be smart to put Jindal to run for 2012.. im not saying i would vote for him.. but at least he will be intelgent and not make the GOP cringe every time he talks.. like palin did
Well, most people agree that the reduction of abortions is a good thing. Most people also agree that raped women should be able to abort if the rape resulted in a pregnancy. Jindal did not.
I would urge you to go read the two blogs I linked to. Much of what has been said about Jindal is a smokescreen.
I've realized more so in recent days that there is no way to please everyone... this is true in our leaders as well..there will always be one side speaking his praises and another side chopping him down..Its rather dishearting.. i wish we could all just figure it out.. and come to some common ground..
Do you really think something like roe v. wade could ever be other turned ? Isnt that something the masses would have to vote in?
Overturning Roe v Wade would not be something the masses would have to vote on. Supreme Court precedents have been overturned before (Brown overturned Plessy for example).
I too would love to find a common ground. However, Jindal is not the person you want forming that common ground. He is as extreme as they come and he is an excellent speaker to boot. He will woo voters with his "three point plans" and make people fall for his spin of the issues as truth.
