Indeed....I have a very bad habit of using colors that are overly colorful and too bright. For years I have had to tone things down. I even painted a Black & White series at one point....thinking it would help me become more subdued. It's not meant to be apparently........heheheheh
heheheheh.....your home is one of the coolest places in the world, V! I always get a kick out of seeing videos of it and your journals and whatever else you are creating!!
Hi Sharon! Well, that's not unexpected. So many of us here migrated from your neck of the woods. Of course, we have a current massive migration coming in from the south and I'm sure they will be bringing new color palettes with them! YAY!! In a hundred or so years, why you won't even recognize our interior decor.
I work for someone that has a very nice art collection (every wall has paintings and he has a closet and a spare room full of purchased paintings). From all I've seen very few have much pronounced color at all. Most have that Autumn at sundown feel. My style would clash greatly with what he has hanging.
Exactly!!! He probably has his entire home done in neutrals, right? Matchy, matchy. "tasteful". heheheheh
Say....did you see that Bulletins are back? I posted one tonite, but I don't know where it's going to show up unless people have their latest activity listed on their Channel pages.....
Ditto I adore bright bold colours! Excellent work. I know what you mean about having to tone things down for some people. Shame as art is all about colour!
Thanks, Sharon. Here in the US, people seem to be more allergic to colors. Look at the design shows on tv.....muted palettes, very little artwork on the walls. Wierd.
And then....there's folks like you and me! heheheheh
Deb, I loved this and we have that in common on the bright colors. Your so creative..... I enjoy your work so much.. Hugs spring is here................ Love ya :):O)
This turned out great. I don't 'tone it down' enough I am sure but hey... I love color. I use a product called antique stain or just watered down paint when I can't find the stain bottles ;)
Well, I sure hope the ideas you are getting are good ones. I'd hate to see you out there robbing banks or something......however, that would make for one heck of a van vlog.....
excellent technique..deb..it helps unify things too..and using different color washes could create some interesting effects.tfs and happy easter to you..hugs janet
Nice little technique! Thanks for showing us. It is a very suttle way to dim the brightness and I notice it adds a really charming texture too. I think it is magic that removing brightness does not remove a thing from the result.
Oooh! I <3 your Heart Art! Great technique to keep the colors from blinding people LOL

Debs they are the same here in the UK. Most houses are full of cream and browns, no colour. Stay true to yourself, vibrate and colourful is fun!
