Hasn't anyone noticed that Gin killing Aizen and saving soul society was his plan the whole time? Here ate my reasons for saying this:

1. He apologized to Rangiku before he left.

2. He said to Aizen "I'm glad Kira is doing alright." as if to dwell on the past. Saying this he knew his plan to kill Aizen and was fearing the moment when he had to do that.

3. He tried to kill Aizen

Gin had to die. I died a little bit inside too when he died, but he had to. Then Rangiku wouldn't be able to move on. Besides once Aizen was captured he would have been executed or something else. He was working under the SS when he did all those crimes so he would've been held accountable. Besides how else was Rangiku X Shuhei supposed to happen if it was Rangiku X Gin till his death? the fact that months later ppl still talk about Gin to this song (what i call his death theme song) actually makes me a little less sadder, because his death was not in vein. Ichigo defeated aizen, rangiku is safe, Gin's memory is honored for being good rather than bad. Sure ppl argue he wasnt good....but noone wants to kill a few in order to save a million...with aizen..thats as a good a scenario as ur gona get*sniffle*

yes i had come across the anwser known as the hogyoku...even before urahara kiskue. I gouged out the souls of hunders of ppl that contained latent soul reaper powers, and gave them to the Hogyoku, even that did not satisfy it.

@r3trofr3sh77 well, they are both the same type of charackter... both are extremely cool, both are always calm and strict, both are kind of dark (in a mysterious way), both are amazingly strong, both seem to be mean to everyone, but in secret, both love their brother (sasuke) // "Sister" (Rukia)... they even have a similar fighting style, itachi with his amaterasu and his long-range mangekyuo and Byakuya with his zembouZakura.... Also, both belong to the most powerfull Clan in each Anime...

@dkhesam Still, Byakuya is a good guy, as well... he gives everything for his sister, just like Itachi. He also is kind of the "cool" guy who dont speak much, just like itachi.. And Gin is a complete different character, he always talks with a sarcastic humor, he has a whole different appearance than byakuya... The "old" sasuke has a lot in common with Itachi, except that he is naive, arrogant and young... still, i dont think itachi and byakuya are completly alike, they just are very similar.

@dkhesam Id say you are on the right track... I think that Byakuya is like Itachi once you realize all that went down... If im right... Itachi was following orders when he killed the Uchiha clan... Byakuya swore he would always follow orders after the whole deal with his wife... He almost let Rukia die... He does act kinda cold like Itachi did... But deep down he really cared for Sasuke... Just like Byakuya and Rukia... Itachi and Gin are only alike in their last moments to me... They were good.

That part gave me the chills. Definitely the most beautiful line in all of bleach. If nothing else, it made me love gin and practically cry when he died (which was, by the way, the most beautiful/depressing death ever)... and I had hated the guy for like... 300 episodes :P
