  • I dont get what bonding really means....need to do some research...but 64 MB/sec holyshit thats fast....the fastest I ever got was like 28 MB...with shitty comcast.

  • @omar3550 look up at wikipedia. It will help you to understand. :)

  • i live in virginia pretty close :p im getting comcast performance getting the 3.0 Docsis

  • @halo3isbeast I am from Portsmouth, VA. I just upgraded from SB6120 to Cisco DPC3010. Now I got 7 bonding channels and it possible to go up to 180 mbps depends on. :P

  • Nevermind... I had Charter upgrade the firmware now Im seeing the blue lights and it syncs MUCH faster!

  • @stopwhining1 Upgrade improve the feature to make thing go faster than before.

  • @choppergage huh?

  • My 6120 takes MUCH longer to sync than the one in this video does... plus mine does not sync with bonded channels... whats up with that? Other than that its fine.. I never have any connection issues and Im on the 30/4 plan with charter.. I consistently get 35/4.. I just wonder why I dont sync to bonded channels though and why it takes so long to sync

  • This modem is a beast. I used to have a sb5101 or something and the download speed was so inconsistent. I bought the SB6120 and my speeds were up to 70mb/s (with powerboost) and 28 mb download WITHOUT powerboost. I'm ONLY supposed to be getting 20mb download with my package but I'm getting 28 steady.... BEASTLY MODEM

  • @woodyfly DOCSIS 2.0 only can go 32mbps maximum

  • good speed, but the ping si horrible, i get no more than 9 when i have 2 gaming computers and a ps3 all gaming at once. im thinking of getting this modem, is it worth it..?

  • Hi there... I'am tire of paying rent to comcast for a Modern.

    In like this Docsis 3.0....

    But whats a Cox ?

Will This Modern Make a big diference agains what My Cable Provider gave Me?

By the way is a Scientific Atlanta 2100

  • @veraso1 easy way, buy yourself a modem and you will stop paying for rent.

  • Impressive speeds, man! 63 mbps holy shit that blows away my shitty 6 mbps at&t. but i will be upgrading to cox soon. is a docsis 3.0 modem really worth it? which one do they usually give you to start with?

  • @musicd00d2010 I bought this modem from Best Buy. It running great but Cox's DOCSIS 3.0 Server automatically let people (and me) to bonding the channels. I only get two bonding (38mbps*2 = 76mbps).

But this was Preferred Tier. I'm on premier tier 30mbps/5mbps. :) try it with Cox!

  • @choppergage thanks for the reply. thinking about the cox premier service. but are you saying with bonding channels you get double the speed? for example 30mbps is premier, does that mean 60mbps total?

  • @musicd00d2010 No but any service still able to get 50mbps and up expect Cox Basic.

  • @musicd00d2010 No, its not possible but powerboost will let you boost the download for short time until it get back to normal.

  • @xXHACKERx360Xx Yea. It was faster. I have Netgear WNDR3700 and Linksys E4200 for back up.

  • lol Still running Vista.

  • mine has all the same lights, but it wont connect to the internet. I can connect to my network (on a netgear wndr3700 router) but it wont connect... just got it, hasnt worked yet. maybe I set it up wrong? is there a certain way to set it up? the user guide sucks!

  • @ven0IVI you have to reboot the modem to obtain ip address automatic.

  • @choppergage no i did that first thing, duh. i just had to set it up with my Isp. I couldnt set it up myself. they had to send codes and stuff... anyway, they came out today to replace the splitters and cables (7years old), and my connection still didnt work until i went into my router and disable port scan and DoS security. i would have perfect connection and then 1 bar for a few secs, which would disconnect me. couldnt finish any online games...anyway, i think it was the port scan.

  • @ven0IVI sound like it was defected. try to get new one if it solve the problem and the cable was old. you gonna replace new one with 1 to 2ghz to allow modem can use 800mhz or up

  • What kind of ISP line do you have? Fiber Optics?

  • @sleepy1225 haha I wish but it is Cable Modem.

  • Wow! 60mbps. What were you getting before upgrading to a gigabit router? I have the same modem but still have a non gigabit n300 router. I get a speedtest of 30mbps on Cox.

  • @photochick4u before was 32mbps on DOCSIS 2.0

  • Whats that you point at on the top right side of your desk?

  • @kboardman oh i forgot.. lol that's 500GB storage connected to WNDR3700.

  • I understand that this gives you a little boost from your regular cable modem, does your internet provider(comcast) charge you extra for the performance increase?

  • @thlin Actually, I'm not using Comcast. I use Cox Communications. Cox still giving ppl free powerboost.

  • You can just upgrade ur modem. That's what I'm doing. They do take this modem. Make sure that after u install it u call comcast and tell them to program it for u.

  • I have Comsat broadband. Can I just replace the modem or do I have to upgrade my service to some thing better

  • why use a 10/100 switch u need a 10/100/1000

  • @billeyjbob5000 I know. I will upgrade to gigabit soon.

  • how do u do that bonding channels thing?

  • @LazyFrogg Depending on your ISP if it supported the bond but it depends on what you have it on tier and location.

  • what did you have to do to activate you cable modem?

  • @hearnechearne When you got SB6120, you have to call your ISP to activate your SB6120 to enable the internet.

  • Comment removed

  • your upload is shit I get that on a DPC2100r2 on docsis 2.0 and I also get 39 down.

  • @fleshe yeah. sometimes I get 98mbps/26mbps when bond the two VPN with two SB6120. I dont use bond VPN much.

  • Dude, that's not even that fast. And do something about your breathing.

  • @neillattz, I was walk downstair to get something I forgot.

  • @neillattz thats really fast lol but ya do something about your breathing lol

  • wait, you have a 20Mbps plan and yet you get 70Mbps!? I only have a 6Mbps download speed. If I were to get this modem, will my internet speed increase too? If so, how do you think it will increase by?

  • @omuyasha,

yes. We use Motorola SB6120 Cable modem with DOCSIS 3.0. Depending on your ISP if it available.

  • @choppergage I have Time Warner/ Road Runner internet. Do you know if they support Docsis 3.0? Or does it depend on where I live?

  • SLOW :P .... Kidding

  • What's your internet data plan? Does this modem really speed up the data connections that much compared to a DOCSIS 2.0 modem?

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY

We are current using 20/3. This modem got two bonding channel to hit 70mbps from download and 20mbps from upload (no bonding).

  • @choppergage If I were to buy this modem, would I get a similar speed increase? (my plan is 15/2)

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY

Exact what I am on that plan but it will get same mine.

  • Get a real web browser like firefox + abp.

  • Shitty upload is shitty.

  • I'm just got this modem, going to this from DSL, I know that I need a router now so My wife can use her laptop, I also bought the D-Link DGL-4500, So if I understand this, I have to connect My DGL-4500 to My ethernet on My pc, then one of the ethernet jacks from the DGL-4500 router to the Cable Modem, Is this going to harm restrict my speeds vs just having Just the Modem Connected without going through router? I made sure the Router was very high end...

  • Yes. Modem to DGL-4500 to pc. depending on if DGL-4500 can handle faster internet thru wired and wireless.

  • it sounds like you have a hard time getting up and down, and your breathing is heavy to. what's wrong? And why the awesome netgear router, and THEN the 16 port hub? You only had a handful of things plugged up.

  • I was sick and hard to breathing. So, anyway, The Netgear router only max 4 then 1 go to 16 port switch. I have many devices connected to this router. I have almost 17 devices.

  • We got those speeds on Cable aswell. You got bad ping. Else its nice 2 see that kind of speeds over there.

  • @kklasen,

    thanks
