Hi ddsOwn3du1! Never fished chester-le-street. Mainly fish on the Derwent and the Tyne! It was round about June when I caught the grayling and believe it or not I actually got it on a daddy long legs. The rest of the fish were on mayfly. Thanks for your comment and query!
This is a fantastic video (save for the bad quality, damn youtube!), i always make a few trips to this river during the coarse closed season and truly a beautiful place it is, but for some reason I never take my fly gear. You have inspired me to make amends, thankyou!
There are some good grayling about down there but I wonder what effect the floods have had on the fish/fly life....fingers crossed all is okay! Thanks for your comment.
Definately! Shame it didnt come out better. It was one of the first videos I tried to put on You Tube. Cant seem to improve the quality anyway I try?!! Ho-Hum. Thanks for the comment though.:)
Mike, the video came from several different parts on the County Durham Derwent(not the Derbyshire Derwent) between the cricket club and Eastlaw, not fished very often hence home to some good fish especially grayling. You fish there much? Only one week to go until opening!! Thanks for your comment.
Sorry Mate, must have missed your accents-how far is the River from Stanley? Ive a mate there I could stay with, would love to give it a crack later on, Seasons started here (Scotland) Tight Lines to the rest of the gang, regards Mike
Mike, the river is 10mins from Stanley,15 at the most.Day tickets available on club owned stretches but if your with a member then you can fish all club water.Tickets are £5 and we have 15miles of fishing.Let me know if your coming down,Im on the committee for the club and would certainly have a look down with you if you want.Mayflies start mid-may to mid-june..ish if your interested!Any queries send me a private message.Tight lines yourself mate.Aiden :)

I fished close to Chatsworth on a expensive stretch a couple of years ago. The fish was stocked and of really bad quality. Never again !
