  • hey im from chester le street you ever fished there? what time on the year was that and wot fly did u use btw im new to fishing write back

  • Hi ddsOwn3du1! Never fished chester-le-street. Mainly fish on the Derwent and the Tyne! It was round about June when I caught the grayling and believe it or not I actually got it on a daddy long legs. The rest of the fish were on mayfly. Thanks for your comment and query!

  • np , any tips on what flys to use for the up comming months?

  • This is a fantastic video (save for the bad quality, damn youtube!), i always make a few trips to this river during the coarse closed season and truly a beautiful place it is, but for some reason I never take my fly gear. You have inspired me to make amends, thankyou!

  • Looks fun.

  • was this fishing near malton or near york mate?

  • what are the rules on keeping the fish?

  • All grayling to be returned, 1 brace of trout per day when theyre in season....and 1 permit required!;)

  • There are some good grayling about down there but I wonder what effect the floods have had on the fish/fly life....fingers crossed all is okay! Thanks for your comment.

  • i caught 1 grayling down there, it was probs half the size than the one at the beginning of your video

  • the best place is under the bridge

  • is that at derwent park, if not how far away is it?

  • i live in shotley!

  • I fished close to Chatsworth on a expensive stretch a couple of years ago. The fish was stocked and of really bad quality. Never again !

  • nice vid, nice fish but very poor quality :(

  • Definately! Shame it didnt come out better. It was one of the first videos I tried to put on You Tube. Cant seem to improve the quality anyway I try?!! Ho-Hum. Thanks for the comment though.:)

  • Cracking little vid, inspiring! what stretch of the Derwent were you, Im down there next month, cheers Mike

  • Mike, the video came from several different parts on the County Durham Derwent(not the Derbyshire Derwent) between the cricket club and Eastlaw, not fished very often hence home to some good fish especially grayling. You fish there much? Only one week to go until opening!! Thanks for your comment.
