Again, you don't really know much. Convictism ended long before federation. The vast majority of Australians are descended from free immigration and very few can trace roots back to the penal settlement.... Not that there is anything wrong with being able to trace back all that way. It is our heritage and should be celebrated.
The majority of Australians in Asia are there as tourists.
