The question is, HOW do you know what a horse is thinking? It doesn't have clear emotions so most of the stuff you are saying is made up. Horses speak with body language, they use their eye's , ears and pure strength. Thats how we know what a horse is thinking. No animal is useless, otherwise they wouldn't be here would they? Every equestrian sport has its dangers, and there will be bad riders and HORRIBLE horsemanship in EVERY sport, as well as good good riders who use wonderful, humane horsemanship. @WoahitsEmmySunshine Barrel racers do love their horses, and they are mostly built up more than others horses to withstand the pushing better. They are also trained to extend and go faster. I am an animal nut but I assure you if you do it responsibly its okay :) The dangers of barrel racing or any western event are just as bad as english riding.

I find for cutting cattle, and western gaming, a foundation AQHA is the only breed cut out for it. They have short, powerful legs and hindquarters, a short body, keeping them lower to the ground, ableling them to turn on a dime. But thats just my opion
@TrueRider2010 a true horseman or professional, no matter how long they have been rider will NEVER say that they know how to ride. You always keep learning about riding and horses no matter what age or level of experience. Just because you've been riding since you were five doesn't make you a good rider either :P
@meganandrocket dont laugh when your horse rears please dont because last year i was at fallon for a rodeo and a 6 year little sweet girl was killed by her horse because he was spooked by a golf cart going to fast and he reared and flipped over backwards. (a carnival was in town) I was there to witness everything. when your horse rears u need to take ur feet out of the sturrips so if he comes over u can get out of the way. please stay on your toes while on any horse. i have learned the hard way
LOL I like short horses they know how to truck it around those barrels! I prefer bareback! It seems more natural and initmate with the horse! I've ridden western and english and I prefer western it's more fun. English was more practice and precision.

@PintoPerson It's not proven but if you go by cutting and like events they use shorter horses. In cutting the shorter horse has a better chance at winning. It really comes down to perference, height and weight. In my opinion I think it all comes down to training. What I would suggest you do before you commit to a horse
@PintoPerson is to check out as many barrel horses as possible, trained and untrained. A good barrel horse is neck reined and doesn't need you to pull it around the barrel. A horse you have to pull isn't worth the feed you give it. Also, you don't want a barrel horse that slows down or takes too many steps around the barrel it takes more time..
@PintoPerson the barrel. That adds time to your run and you'll never win on that kind of horse. The best barrel horse is one that can run the barrels perfectly without anyone on their backs. Your job is to hold on for the ride because they can't win without you. But if you do want a shorter horse for their turning ability then you want one with
@PintoPerson lots of speed and endurance to keep pace with the large horses. Larger horses cover more ground in less strides, but over heat faster than shorter, lighter muscled horses. My horses are only 15hh. I used to have larger horses, but me and my mama both perfer shorter horses. It doesn't matter what breed you get as long as
@PintoPerson they can turn and run fast. I've seen arabians, thoroughbreds, quarter horses, appendix and many other types. I use paints, mustangs, quarabs and appendix to run. If you don't care about getting a registered AQHA horse then you should look into Quarabs and Appendix they're pretty good breeds for that in my opinion.

If you want to get technical, every equestrian sport is a sport that could hurt or kill the horse or rider. I have seen horses snap legs during leisurely trail rides or trip and fall while trotting in an arena and hurt the rider. And you call those events stupid because they are dangerous but you are interested in jumping...kind of an oxymoron there, don't you think?

I haven't been putting down the video, in fact on the contrary the video is very well put together. I'm not spamming. Spamming is when somebody continuously posts the SAME comment again and again. As you can see, my comments are all different. You have the right to speak, I have the right to speak, everyone has the right to speak. The only difference is the people who shun others because of what they believe in, and I don't believe I like horses, and you believe you like horses.

Horses speak with body language, they use their eye's , ears and pure strength. Thats how we know what a horse is thinking. No animal is useless, otherwise they wouldn't be here would they? Some horses are treated badly, just as lots of other domesticated and, many undomesticated animals are also. But others live, happily.

Horses are herd animals they aren't individuals. People do all of what an alpha horse would- groom them, feed them and keep them warm.

I am an animal nut but I assure you if you do it responsibly its okay :) The dangers of barrel racing or any western event are just as bad as english riding.

(a carnival was in town) I was there to witness everything. when your horse rears u need to take ur feet out of the sturrips so if he comes over u can get out of the way. please stay on your toes while on any horse. i have learned the hard way

@PintoPerson Lol, sounds fine to me. So you say staying on a tall horse is easier? Is it because they are not as agile as short horses? I do have to say, on a short horse you're closer to the ground if you fall off.

@PintoPerson It's not proven but if you go by cutting and like events they use shorter horses. In cutting the shorter horse has a better chance at winning. It really comes down to perference, height and weight. In my opinion I think it all comes down to training. What I would suggest you do before you commit to a horse

@PintoPerson is to check out as many barrel horses as possible, trained and untrained. A good barrel horse is neck reined and doesn't need you to pull it around the barrel. A horse you have to pull isn't worth the feed you give it. Also, you don't want a barrel horse that slows down or takes too many steps around the barrel it takes more time..

@PintoPerson the barrel. That adds time to your run and you'll never win on that kind of horse. The best barrel horse is one that can run the barrels perfectly without anyone on their backs. Your job is to hold on for the ride because they can't win without you. But if you do want a shorter horse for their turning ability then you want one with

@PintoPerson lots of speed and endurance to keep pace with the large horses. Larger horses cover more ground in less strides, but over heat faster than shorter, lighter muscled horses. My horses are only 15hh. I used to have larger horses, but me and my mama both perfer shorter horses. It doesn't matter what breed you get as long as

@PintoPerson they can turn and run fast. I've seen arabians, thoroughbreds, quarter horses, appendix and many other types. I use paints, mustangs, quarabs and appendix to run. If you don't care about getting a registered AQHA horse then you should look into Quarabs and Appendix they're pretty good breeds for that in my opinion.

i apologize becuse i did ride western for 1 year and then i switched to english.... i looked up western... and u should look up english riding! i obviously removed my comment... but u guys shouldnt have been such assholes about it! IVE BEEN RIDING SINCE I WAS 5 years old!! SO I THINK I KNOW HOW 2 RIDE!! SO WhAt i ride english! many of my friends think the same of english and i have 2 explain to them! jeeze .. If you want to get technical, every equestrian sport is a sport that could hurt or kill the horse or rider. I have seen horses snap legs during leisurely trail rides or trip and fall while trotting in an arena and hurt the rider. And you call those events stupid because they are dangerous but you are interested in jumping...kind of an oxymoron there, don't you think?

@Smrobs84 actually jumping on a horse can be more dangerous and hurt the horse and rider more. I have seen more horses get hurt jumpin then doin anything else

ladeeFNda um your telling rodeosabuseanimals not to judge people when your judging english riders pretty much.... i ride english and barrel race and in the long wrong i probably prefer English... its much more comfortable then western i think at least.... the attire for english is more comfortable at shows also but thats just my own opinion and really don't tell other people to not judge when really your doing the same exact thin as them
