And the pedal sounds super sweet too! Kinda subtle, but in a very good way.
I'm wondering though; does it do a serious, more obnoxious sort of ringmod thing aswell, or is it mostly octavia? (I mean, apart from the compressor stuff of course!)
sweet playing and sweet pedal too. it seems like the camera is picking up more of the guitars acoustic sound and not the actual sound coming out of the amp though
I agree that the camera picked up too much of the guitar's acoustic properties, and for me this impaired being able to actually hear the nuances of the pedal.
I think I am like the rest of the people so far. You did great playing but i do not see the need for the pedal. Maybe it is the recording but with or without the pedal I could not tell a noticable difference.
To be honest i liked your sound better with the pedal off. It was lovely! The green ringer thing is pretty cool though but i didn't really like the compressor.
yeah, when I had a Tele I did the same thing. turn the plate around, put the volume closer, the tone in the middle and the switch to the back. It keeps you from hitting the pup selector when you are playing. Handy little trick I learned from a big Nashville player.
Thanks - the amp in the video is what you are describing building - this is a GDS 18 watt clone that I had a power scaling circuit installed in. Highly recommended!
Patience! Basically, spray paint for base coat, inkjet decals for the lettering, then clear coat over the top once they're dry. Before applying the decals tho - spray them with a light coat of the clear to keep the ink on them from running. Easily triples the time you would take to just assemble it and be done with it. :)
In this guitar, I have the AVn 60's Custom set. I also have an Esquire with an AVn 48. These pickups are dead freakin quiet - it's unbelievable. Even at high gain. I'm going to make another video here soon, and demonstrate that as well. Not only are they the quietest I've heard, but they retain every bit of the single coil tone I'm after at the same time. They're expensive, but in this case - you definitely get what you pay for.
that's a sweet combination. did you buy the amp complete or did you get a kit? i'm jonesing for an 18watt clone but don't know who to go with. I wouldn't mind building it myself with kit parts rather than buying one complete.
When I found this amp chassis, my intent was to build as well. But, for the money it cost me on ebay, it just didn't make sense to buy a kit and assemble it myself. After all, I like playing through amps just as much as I like screwing with them... :) I've had this amp for almost a year, and it's served all my purposes, and left me wanting nothing. This coming from a 100 watt head with a 4x12 cabinet... this thing is a monster. Obviously not as loud, but loud enough... and the TONE!!
Loved the playing and the sounds. We also use Kinmans in our white MIJ Strat.Check them out. I have a 50th Anniversary Tele which sounds great but I must say yours may be more impressive. Andre the bass player
kinman pickups yeah, there so much better i have a mexican strat and im replacing my pickups with traditional mk-2 i will be showing a comparison video in the next 2 days.. you tell me which one sounds better.
I love these pickups. Usually noiseless pickups leave something to be desired... but I have to say, these have all the single coil character I want in a pickup, and they're quieter than humbuckers. HIGHLY recommended!!
The reason you think it sounds more like an octavia is because it is one, at least according to the web site. After seeing this I think I'll just have to build one.
what song did you play around 3:00? Ive heard that from a PGS demo of the mjm london fuzz ii before!! :D

@francescotaranto90 yeah, it's more of an octavia thing... not a gain pedal by any means...

is the button annoying to push?
FarmedCars 1 year ago
@FarmedCars if you find the sound of the pedal annoying, quite possibly!! : )
Seriously, it's a button that takes some force - you won't toggle it on or off by just touching it with your foot - there's a definite 'click' to it.
