Fish and Game officers bust would be poachers

If assholes were not riding their lazy asses up and down the road illegally hunting you would not need game officers,those animals that legal hunters pay for license to hunt them belong to legal hunters not asshole poachers who say they trying to feed their families which is BS,if you so hard up you should be walking not hunting from a truck with a rifle that cost $500.00 and burning up $4.00 gas.You need to loose whatever it takes to get your lazy ass straight.

@tronclay Game and fish agencies are funded by revenue, the hunters paying for tags are the hunters paying for the wildlife mangers, taxes do not go to game and fish departments even though they are a state agency. If a man were to feed his family with an elk, he would take it anytime of the year without a tag or license because tags are $100+ for elk.

The statement you make about taxes not going to fish and wildlife departments is only partly true. I live in Missouri and we have a 1/8 cent per dollar general revenue tax that goes 100% to the department. It is a voter supported tax that has been renewed (by popular vote) atleast once to my knowledge. Not sure if other States have a general tax, but it would not surprise me if there were more. The department also benefits from the sale of licenses and user fees.

Just to clarify because I don't quite understand your response. In Missouri money from the sale of licenses AND a 1/8 cent tax on ALL sales goes 100% to the Conservation Department. Example: I buy a hunting license for $19.00 then buy $100 more in items from a store. The Department gets the $19.00 license fee PLUS 13 cents from the tax on the items. Is that what you are saying happens in other States too?

a friend of ours had this happen to her , it wasnt on the road but she shot the fake 5 point bull and our regulations are for 6 point bull elk only, as dumb as i think she was for shooting it in the first place, it was entrapment. what the conservation officers had done was take the antlers of a mature 6 point bull elk and cut off the first brow tine, making it an illegal 5 point, any elk hunter knows that a 6 point antler looks nothing like a five point, they should have used a genuine 5x5

Its pretty sad that we still live under the rule that thou shalt not kill the king's deer. The gov't has taken the stand that hunting to feed your family is illegal and only allowable during the season when people hunt for sport so they can have a nice wall ornament. The sport hunters and the wildife nuts have all but destroyed the ability of a person to feed their family with wild game instead of hormone pumped cow and pig from the gov't controlled market.

@dlstb that simply isnt true,most hunters that hunt during the open season are meat hunters not trophy hunters.Trophy hunters tend to hunt on private game reserves where they have a better chance of scoring the biggest racks.People who hunt on public land are usually the guys who cant afford the private reserves and are everyday joes looking for fun times and table meat.The guys in this video were looking for an unfair advantage the day before the opening season,its not like they couldnt hunt

Oh, and the backstrap. The reason we all have to hunt during a 2-4 week season is because of these trophy/ prized meat only hunters who would and do leave the rest of the animal to rot. A subsistence hunter would harvest over a year what a trophy hunter takes in that 2-4 week season.

The hunting season is set to coincide with mating season which is when the bucks' racks are fully developed and they are in rut and being dumb. This eliminates the ability of the 80% to go out and hunt for food if they so wish during any other time period. It also makes it harder for the 80% to get a deer because of the density of hunters

@Luckychucky78 Also, the rules exist in today's world where more deer are hit by cars than legally taken in hunting every year (or more than even existed in 1900) is because it would adversely affect the markets for cattle, pork, chicken, and even feedstocks. It has long been a policy of the US to make the citizens dependant on the regulated markets for their day to day needs. Read up on wickard v. filburn and then get angry. Angry that our Supreme Court would ever make a decision like that.

The term is used today to describe an individual who kills animals without the proper permit. Before permits were issued the white tail population in the east and the turkey population were almost entirely wiped out. The issuing of permits and the limitation in hunting seasons keeps the animal population at acceptable levels. The poacher (from the french) cares little about the animal population and only looks to satisfy his own needs.
