@IWPRO Many more people just have no desire to even try this. The rail makes it easier, but I have seen a 90 lbs para woman climb a whole flight of regular stairs using my 40lbs chair, without even get out of breath. The key is the cam-locks that allows resting between pulls.
@IWPROThey are "hill-holders" in reverse that I carved out of solid aluminum (the plastic ones work, but the torque on stairs is many times what they're designed for)
You can see them close up at minute 3:15 of the 8th vid in the line up on my channel. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic, I have recently been in wheelchair due to neurological problems, I am seeking new ideas to help me fit in. This is very helpful, thank you- Jonathan
I just love this guys work! he invented so many cool things. I mean to me this is news worthy. Not the poltical garbage we keep seeing... They will tell us anything we wan to hear in order to win. Once in they will do what they wanted anyway. Or rather what ever special interest, or other groups paying them or others off to make it hell to do the right thing.
ebay here is the real news maker I say for inventions that could help a ton of people all over the world. :)
I did not think through my answer well, there are one way ratchets on each wheel that make it 80%+ easier to do this. SO IF you were USING these you would just stay where you were if you fainted...UNLESS you were tipped forward, then you would have a REAL BAD TIME..but you'd be already passed out,so who knows.
Actually, this dude made some of the smartest safety devices around! Working much like a rachet wrench he has one way locking cams to prevent his wheelchair from rolling back down on him. Just awesome I say.
Not many people in wheelchairs are that strong
