Try not to show off every single trick that you can do all at once. Slow it down, be meditated and comprehensive in your articulation. That's not to say that you shouldn't shred like Petrucci, but that you should choose your notes more carefully.
Work on your rhythm, as well as your technique. Make sure that you bend to appropriate notes (instead of off-scale) and widen your vibrato--shaking your hand doesn't do the trick :P
