I did this but it's still open I think I am not to sure because my thing did not have any thing on it like email or something the first page was blank but it still asked me to put admin and I am doing this with my iPod cuz my computer is broken right now and we don't have the manual I just got it from another video it said they were all the same
@TheStickyGum this process is specific to linksys, but these technologies are present on any router, just look out for wpa/wpa2 etc. and select those and enter a key.
you can easily search google for the password to your router's admin incase its not the default admin admin
i changed my password and clicked saved changes but once i go back to the page, it did not save my changes and was back to the normal settings HELP!!!!!!
hello can you tell me the steps on how to put a password on my wifi? my router is D-Link DI-624. please help me. your help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
If this is not the ip, ask the person who setup ur router the password. If you are using Vista, you will see your router in network page. Just right click on it and click on view webpage for device (something like that).
wait wtf im really confused i have the same exact router wrt54g and i did wat u did but when i put in the admin name and password it just came up again i did it like 2 more times a red page came up saying authication is required do i have to press save PW??
o actually on my old computer we had a name on it but no PW, and now we just got this new computer it gave us internet access but we never installed it, so i did it today with the cd that came with it and now its just us and no one else is using it and i have the same exact model as u the WRT54G. but thanks for the info about the admin thing
yea the only people that use it is my desktop computer, and my two labtops, but my friend who lives near took my connection and he kept askin me for the pw, and now he got his own router and he uses that. same for my other neightbor but they should get their own. Also if people use your connection the it make ur connection worse like it had 4 bars and seven people are using it can it lower it??
Hmmm, more people on your wireless router = more traffic for your router to handle and more traffic on your internet bandwidth (hope u have an unlimited plan)
Anyway, the point being that if a lot of people are accessing your Wifi network and your password indeed is public (not of router but WPA key) then performance takes a beating.
Never share your router password or the WPA key with anyone. Recently in India terrorists used unsecured Wifi connections to send emails about terror attacks.
o wow good thing i put a pw on my router cuz the only ppl are using is me and my bros i guess, so i guess im safe. ppl have been using it long enough but never did anything with it they probably werent smart enough lol thx anyway for the tips and help. =] and it wasnt fair that ppl would be using my internet that i payed for while they got it for free.
Wont work on mine.

use
username admin
password admin
tell me if it didnt work ? , if it doesnt work , it means someone has already messed with your wifi router.
Also see the other video in related videos :

Ask any other doubt you have.
