It's funny how even in the comment section a lot of people seem to just discriminate against each other based off of their respective, assumed weight.

In my view the very important message isn't "now it's time to hate skinny", it's "accept the fact that there is a huge amount of different body types".

Not everbody can be thin and lean, and we should aspire to be healthy, rather than to achieve just another for most people unattainable ideal.

Who the hell wants to be so skinny that your bones and spine sticks out? its just gross, you need some meat on your bones. Its true, you want to be thin, but NOT too thin. Its better if your just healthy thin and toned, not anorexic thin. Thats where these young girls dreams should be at, not on Belumia. I'm so glad this director did this film, its really going to help people out there, and it was a really really good documentary, i recommend to watch this 100%. Just love yourself<3

What I like about this film is that it seems to teach people to love themselves. The girl who said she felt ugly was actually beautiful w/ her fair skin, pretty feautures, and dark (at least inside, but maybe outside it is lighter) hair.

The black vs white skin is just a cultural thing. In more evolve cultures or countries (open minded if you like) like Sweden a black person will be more desirable than the average white one which is the common rule. So the argument of the white skin as a genetically to tell disease is just one side of the coin. The gens also search for different matches to make the body more resistant to illness, so a white Swedish will be more interested in black person from the genetical points of view.

Thing with the media twisting things is that they're often wrong too. They proclaim this ideal in how women "should" look yet I find most women to be more attractive without make up (because they look more natural) and with a healthy normal body. Yes, I can admit that some models look very sexy and beautiful but yeah, I like natural more and all my friends agree with this, we've discussed this quite a lot.

It's sad that many women believe men only look for models, a lot of us aren't. :)

I made a documentary about the blessings and curses of being a beautiful woman. While the premise of my film was not trying to find a definition of beauty, I accidentally found that our perception of beauty in real life is very different from what is portrayed in the media. That is because I took referrals to determine which women to interview for being "beautiful." They came in different sizes and looks. I did a whole blog about it in my website.

Just saw it today at my university (University of Arizona) and it was a big eye opener. Totally worth it. According to the director, who was there for the Q&A after the screening, the DVD should be out by September since they are only on 2/3 into their tour around the country.
