Led Zeppelin played their 1970 Scandinavian dates billed as 'The Nobs' after Eva Von Zeppelin, a decendant of Count Von Zeppelin the designer of the first German airships threatened lawsuits if the band played as Led Zeppelin. To quotef rom Hammer Of The Gods, 'They maybe world famous, but a couple of shrieking monkeys are not going to use a privileged family name without permission'.

Why are you calling Led Zeppelin the Nobs? Am I missing something there? And this is the Immigrant Song. Is the Nobs what they used to call themselves?
It's a shame about Plant's voice as his career went on.
From 69 - 72 he could sing very difficult songs with lots of screaming like Immigrant Song and Communication Breakdown with ease, and this is when, in my opinion, Led Zeppelin was at their best live. But after 72, as we see on the Song Remains The Same concert, which is in 73, his voice isn't as good.
definitely. as great as their songs were later in their career like on Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti, I'd still forfeit all that to see them in 1970 if I could pick any year to see them. this was the epitomy of their greatness.
I seen them in Rochester, ny in 1971 and Feb 1975. In 1971 you are right way ahead of their time. Artist are still trying to fashion, singing, drumming and guitar skills after them.
The afternoon show is insane too, but the bootleg quality sucks, i guess only hardcore fans like us who stay up late listening to these can handle it ;)
jesus fucking christ!!!! wow! they were so ahead of there time.1970,imagine being at that show and hearing that live for the first time.thay were so powerful and just unbelievable in the begining.from 68 to 73,nobody was even close to them live.
HA! i bet they were disappointed when they saw that there was no solo on the studio version...I still think that was a big mistake for jimmy not to have a solo on this song in the studio
I love how the crowd goes INSANE when the announcer yells "they are hear....LED ZEPPELIN!!" i would be jumpin from my seat, screamin my lungs out jus like every other fan. Great version of Immigrant Song too!

Bonzo's drumming is nearly drowning out Page. You don't hear that often happen that the drummer overpowers the guitar playing.
