I'm not sure if you've gotten the answer already, but to make it under another, go ahead and drag it under another layer using the mouse ^_^ If you need more help, you can check out my layers tutorial (though I'm not sure it will answer all questions haha D:)

Also, I recorded this using Hypercam2 ^_^ Hope this helps!

@Singbobo1 well it depends on mouse and tab.. But for sure it easier with tab cause it like drawin on paper (sorta) plus it keeps u steady but mouse is kinda hard to master, too much shaky movement D:

Did you Blur the bottom part of the eye? Like when you did the lighter versions of the green. I dont think you did but i want to make sure... And does the effect of the eye look better when you blur it? Also is it easier to use a tablet when sketching/drawing than the mouse?

@Sapphire348 If you want to color OVER the black, then make a new layer and have it on top on the original. If you want to color UNDER the black like in the tutorial, then move the new layer to the bottom.

lol its not XD a tablet is like a pen-mouse haha. its a pen, and you draw on sort of a mousepad, and so its like drawing on the computer ^_^

you might not have the ink pen, but its no problem because its very similar to the regular pen. if you still really want it, though, you can get a look similar to it by going to the information box on my paint tool sai tutorial (tools) ^__^ hope this helped! D:

1. ehh sorry, which part are you talking about?

2. um okay so you need to draw the eye (the black) on one layer. and when you finish drawing the eye, you make a new layer, drag it UNDERNEATH (to the bottom), and that's where you color.

haha, because there are lots more tools and effects that can be used on sai, and TONS of stuff that you can't find on ms paint. you can still make pretty stuff with mspaint, but its just easier and most of the time your work is prettier/better on sai.

um srry i dunno -__- i don't really draw red eyes, but...

what i WOULD do (haha i've never done it so sorry) is basically the same thing: color the eye with a red (it should probably be a brighter red) pen, and then use an even lighter color to make the u-shape. if that looks weird, you could also try making another layer and setting it to luminosity, and then making the u-shape..i don't know. and then shade in the upper part with a dark red, it might even be sorta blackish, but just play

around with the colors. but even if its blackish, a little blending will fix it up just fine. and then just add the highlights normally :D haha.

if you don't have the ink pen, a good alternative is the normal pen. for the ink pen "look", just go to the pen tool, and then look at the toolbox. look on the bottom right, and there should be four boxes with shapes in them. choose the last one, (rectangle). also, you can go to advanced settings, which should be on top of the pen size tool box, and then play w. the edge hardness (mine is set on 100 but it doesn't really matter.

ahh okay. i think i can probably help u with that ^^

okay so at 3:05, u see the toolbox on the right. its set on the pen tool. underneath the toolbox u see the thing that says "normal" and has an arrow next to it so u can change it. look at the thing next to that. it should be the bottom left corner of the toolbox. there are four buttons with shapes inside them. to get the kind of pen i used, click the first one. i think you have your pen set on one of the other ones.

oh and srry, i forgot to mention, you can also play with the edge hardness settings in the advanced settings to get the kind of hardness/softness you want :)
