It does get confusing sometimes. For the Black collection she wasn't paid because she went into the mac store and bought them herself. Sometimes Youtube Makeup Gurus are sent samples of makeup to advertise to their viewers. Imagine Michelle Phan getting 1 million views and, say, 1/4 of her audience buyis from that company after a tutorial on something. I hope that cleared a couple things up!
