got to be about the BEST rockabilly track in the world. if tyhere is one thing that the fall can really pull off any time they choose to, its that they can REALLY plaster out dam solid rockabilly! and in a way only a british band can, americans make rockabilly sound too country and western, the fall make it COOL.

Why should anyone like the Fall? I don't know, and I'm normally rational and all that nonsense. @wontontone like gorgonzola, can be an aquired taste, though, i liked them without having to aquire the taste. just liked them . first heard them while on white lightning acid in 1984. (totales turnes was on while acid kicked in!!! PHIEWF!) and never looked back, yeh am 44 too... kids now can only handle music pro-tooled to death. the fall and bands "like them" dont need hits, they just need to do gigs.

I'm fairly certain that what I'm about to say will make somebody (likely multiple somebodies) want to hack my head off and shit down my throat, but I feel it needs saying. I love The Fall. They're fantastic. Mark E. Smith is fiercely intelligent, original and generally amazing. But in the case of this particular song...if you have a listen to "Boys Are Boys And Girls Are Choice" by The Monks, you'll know what I mean. Maybe. Or maybe Im braindead.

Nevertheless, I still love this song to death.

@subscooby I think certain aspects sound strikingly similar. But that's me. If you don't hear anything, that's all right. Some people (a lot of people) say Pavement's "Conduit For Sale!" is a direct rip-off (homage, perhaps?) of The Fall's "New Face In Hell". Still others claim that "New Face In Hell" sounds uncannily like The Velvet Underground's "What Goes On", and on and on, lol. I don't know. I like it all.
