  • I want one! ;D

  • @WitchMagicCat -- me too. we had this one for about a week and we were really sad to send it back :(

  • Love this video. The musical community is filled with pretentious know-nothings who couldn't tell a longitudinal wave from a lawn chair. Going to be delicious to see their reaction in a few years when instruments made of advanced materials sound better than their fifty thousand dollar dead trees while costing less than a laptop.

  • @HackCausality -- time will tell...and no matter what, experimentation is healthy for instrument making and music...its all good :)

  • How is the sound quality? kinda hard to tell from a video lol

  • @gdiggle123 -- we've tried a couple of mr. rochon's violins and we love them.

  • I'm not going to lie you to and say that was played perfectly...but you managed to squeeze enough feeling into it to give me chills, and I've heard that song a thousand times before.

  • @jstilly1 -- ouch, the truth hurts, lol...seriously, thanks :)

  • nice solo ..

  • @nulinegas17th -- hey thanks :)

  • People getting jealous of you is ridiculous. Coveting your abilities, looking at your blessing not knowing you had to go through HELL, and HARD WORK to stand in the position you are in now in music and how you can play it. They don't see the agony nor the patience, all you went through. God Bless you.

  • @MyChainsAreGone7777 -- thanks so much :)

  • Ohhh! It actually sounds really good! I thought those carbon violins didn't sound as well as the wooden ones!

  • @Fayouma -- its an amazing violin for sure :)

  • wow. i love your violin. it produces a fantastic open/loud sound unlike my viola and its chess like outer "shell" (for lack of a better word) intrigues me. :)

    ~~ a fellow musician

  • Anyone disliking this is jealous or doesn't understand a truly gifted musician.

  • @Thecrazyeditor -- music has always brought out passion and emotion, good or bad, thats just part of the creative process. just as experimentation in instrument design and construction has been part of the creative process and the evolution of music.

  • @eboyinc So cool!

  • @Thecrazyeditor -- totally...

  • amazing sound...but - is it real one?

If yes, I take my carbon fiber double bass with me right now!

  • O_O i want... SHUT UP AND TAKE MY EUROS

  • @OptoOcto Thanks for the info~ :)

  • carbon fiber cello?

  • @Bigbug123456 Luis and Clark make a Carbon fiber Cello. So far I just make violins.

  • This instrument has the most INCREDIBLE tone I've ever heard in my entire life!

  • @bpproductions195 Thank you! Eboyinc's playing has a lot to do with it.

  • @ReardonViolins -- my sister and i here at eboyinc really love your violins...they bring out the best of our playing with their power and tone.

  • Do they make carbon fiber violas?

  • @BlanFan2O No not yet, Luis and Clark make a nice Carbon Fiber viola and it will be a year or more before I takle that project.

  • This thing sounds amazing and you do very well playing it!

  • Is that a pizaro gold E I see there? I love the sound from that brand :3

  • how much does it weigh bet its like holding air

  • @jakass317 They are weighted to be very close to a standard violin, but I have made one that weighed about 1/3 less.

  • it would be very good to change wood for other materials!

  • it's fake...:) just wood sound like this

  • @tantarzamfir -- hi, its amazing how good this awsome carbon fiber violin sounds :)

  • @tantarzamfir I emailed rochon about this, and it is indeed, real. someday, when i can afford it, i want to buy one.

  • @Rooftopaccessorizer -- Mr Rochon has been so kind in letting me and my brother try these fantastic violins here on our Eboyinc channel...they're definately for real...remarkable violins for sure!

  • that doesnt sound fake if you really listen:)

  • @tantarzamfir Want to try one? send me Private message.

  • So because it's made out of this material, does that mean that the player can play in any weather condition fearless of damage to their instrument? I mean, a good advertisement would be, say... somebody playing this violin at the top of Mount McKinley and then showing up in the major Anchorage music hall "6 hours later" playing the same violin to a packed, applauding house. THAT would be an ad!

  • @ydabom The fingerboard is still made of wood.

  • @1JesseW It is also made from Carbon Fiber. I have had a number of requests to make fingerboards for all kinds of instruments because the quality of Ebony has declined over the years.

  • @ydabom This violin was played in Chicago outside in Febuary at -7 degrees F and walked straight in to a shop (still playing) at 78 F. No noticable change in sound. Check out my "durability test" video.

  • i want that kind of violin

  • frist 5 secounds i thought "HOLY CRAP! he"s playing black diamond!"2 secounds later sees title oh....

  • you are blessed by God with this wonderful talent! Excellent job!

  • @samlusignan -- thanks!

  • Graphite and poly resin guitars and basses have a specific sound. (Who remembers the Steinberger from the 80's?) In person, they're clear and loud, but a bit "cold." I'd bet a carbon fiber fingerboard on a wood violin would sound very nice.

  • Does it add Horse Power?

  • what is the advantage of carbon fibre in a violin?

  • @RustyNex -- perhaps the maker of this amazing violin will add his comments here, but from our viewpoint, there are a few advantages. violins are prone to cracking, like any think piece of wood...from heat, humidity (or lack of...), pressure, etc...and think wood is fragile. the wood needs to be varnished and the elements wear on the varnish as well. if you do outdoor gigs, rain, cold temps are a problem. also, violinmakers throughout history have experimented with material and design :)

  • @eboyinc where could a person buy such a violin?

  • @Rooftopaccessorizer -- check out the maker's website ~ rochonviolins (dot )com

  • @eboyinc thanks for the reply, that makes sense, though i feel carbon fibre is very expensive, maybe simple fibreglass, or plastic. carbon fibre is awesome, and maybe there is something to do with how well it holds its shape plus how thin it is, makes a good reverberation box, i dunno, but i think either way, carbon fibre has to be the most expensive thing they could have used.

  • @RustyNex Clarity, volume, won't warp.

  • @plangentmusic but price wise wouldn't fibreglass be better?

  • @RustyNex Yes. There's also something called "Ebonol" which is the material used for bowling balls! It's very smooth, hard, bright and will not warp. And it's dirt cheap.

  • @plangentmusic so really i suppose its just for looks, or "bling"

  • @RustyNex No, as mentioned, there's a certain sound to it. Purists may not go for it but it has its advantages.

  • @plangentmusic i see, i can imagine it being an unnatural sound for a violin

  • @RustyNex Well, you're hearing it. How's it sound? Imagine a virtuoso under optimum recording conditions. You might be surprised.

  • @plangentmusic to be honest, with a combination of horrible speakers, a bad ear for fine details, and no wooden violin to compare to, it just sounds like a normal violin to me, which is why i thought it was a bit excessive to make it out of carbon fibre.

  • @plangentmusic fiberglass is light weigh and break resistant. good for finger board and chin rest, may be for pegs too. but may be it shrinks at low temperature, and expend at hot temperature.

Any pro uses this high tech ? I never seen yet.

    I wish to try it.

  • @joosangbai Actually, fiberglass is less susceptible to temperature change than wood. Graphite guitars and basses are known for rarely needing adjustments and stay in tune much longer than standard wood instruments. Again, the sound coming from the body and the feel of the back of the neck are two things a lot of people can't get used to.

  • beautiful

  • @sandmaster9412 -- thanks!!!

  • Very beautiful song this carbon. nice.

  • @josferoliver -- glad you liked it :)

  • Wow I love ur volient

  • @AAwesomeDude18 Ya know I almost named the company that. "Violint Violins" Went with Rochon Violins instead.

  • who would shoot a violin? lol but its looks very very pretty i would so buy one!

  • @FerroloESP -- !muchas gracias!

  • where do you get violins like these? they are amazing

  • @Khari99 -- thanks for checking out our videos. most of the violins that we play here on eboyinc are from an estate violin collection. occasionally we are sent violins from violinmakers (like this fantastic carbon fiber instrument) to try out :)

  • WHAT STRINGS ARE YOU USING? ...oops caplocks XD but you're an amazinggg violinist!

  • Comment removed

  • Well, I know what I want for Christmas.

  • @lilsammy12woo -- me too :)

  • :O WHERE ARE YOU GETTING ALL THESE AMAZING VIOLINS? I MUST KNOW!!!!

  • @bigsis314 -- hi, most of the violins that we sample here on eboyinc are from an estate violin collection. we occasionally are sent violins from violinmakers (like this fantastic carbon fiber instrument) to try out :)

  • *drools* I've always wanted one of those. :')

  • That Violin is to nice. Now i want one.

  • Beautiful violin. It makes me wanna play violin and chess at the same time. XD

  • Im jealous of your violin :)

  • hehe its bulletproof

  • @violinlord I believe your mistaking it's material with Kevlar, known for bullet proof vests?... The violin is made out of carbon fiber known mostly for producing lightweight yet stiff sport gear or performance vehicle parts... 2 totally different and unrelated materials, so please don't ever try to stop a bullet with carbon fiber! lol

  • Temperature fluctuations and humidity that would ruin a traditional, wooden, acoustic instrument won't phase carbon fiber and graphite. And if it sounds as good live as it does through a low quality, built-in, camera microphone then I would think that more professionals would be using them than they are. Perhaps there are some prejudices against it because of tradition and the ear being used to a certain sound. Considering the inconsistencies inherent with wood, perhaps we should look elsewhere.

  • Do you know what kind of strings are on this instrument???

  • @fischersgirl1720 It has a combination of Thomastik-Infeld Reds and Blues

  • That's the limitation of computer speakers. They don't allow you to hear the rich, full sound of such a beautiful instrument the way human hears can.

  • damn, sexy arms and hands.

  • Nice bright surfacy sound, the polar opposite of the great Italian fiddles. It is clear, just no depth. Of course, the recording is in your face.

  • fantastic!

  • cuanto cuesta ese violin? D:

  • @bagitaxitax -- hola, el precio de estos violines es muy razonable. el stuart rochon del contrato directamente y seran su placer de discutirlo con usted. su website se enumera en el descripcion (rochonviolins(dot)com).

  • this is awesome but....i auggest investing in a camera with a better mic? I think it would pick up an even richer and more amazing sound

  • Nice violin and music.....

  • Yay! I've been waiting for this. Amazing tone, especially on the chords and trills. Thanks for the video. Is the bow stick carbon fiber too?

  • @enchantedbymusic -- its a cool violin...the stick is carbon fiber.

  • @eboyinc cool indeed, I can only dream of getting one. :P

  • Interesting pattern on the fingerboard :P Nice ^^

  • @Sortudinho that is carbon fiber thread piled into a mold and some of the threads twist and turn so it gets that funky effect.
