Absolutely fantastic film. Directed by Tony Scott first of all and performed by Denzel and Travolta - two of the best actors ever. This film spat on the original film's grave and laughed and that in my opinion is a great thing. The original was boring and dreary. This was a Tony Scott action-packed thrill-ride. Well done Tony. Boom.

I'm not gonna dis the original, but I do have to say, I Iike the new version better. Maybe it's because I saw the new version first so there fore the suspense was destroyed. However I like the new version better for other reasons too. Mostly better characters. The hero of the new version is being tried for a crime and later confesses that he did it, to save a hostage life and you really see the heroic side of him. The Villain is also one of those "Villains with a heart."

I think John Travolta is a great actor! Why? Cause he's just as convincing in these badass villian roles as he is playing the nice guy. In my opinion, that's the mark of a great actor, credibility in every role.

Than you have Denzel who is just a dispatcher not even a rent-a-cop playing hero trying to play role of a cop lol. When I bought this movie, I thought it would be really good. But it was a total waste of time to watch this. It was totally boring! It had a bad and really simple plot. There was almost no action. John Travolta wasn't convincing at all. The movie wasn't exciting at all, because you could predict everything. It basically just sucked IMO. I wouldn't recommend it.
