Theres no need to be rude. They have been, and still are, one of the most powerful and modern military forces in the world. With Vietnam on your record, and then failing to learn from the past, and as a result, fighting the same costly, drawn out war in Afghanistan that the USSR did, I wouldn't be so arrogant about who knows what about fighting a war.

I'm not trying to have a crack at your country, but do your research, the US is as corrupt as any nation. Why support Diem, when he was indisciminately ordering the murder of civilians? Why would they confront Iraq in the gulf war, yet not Burma? Why support the Afghan insurgents in the 80's that they now have to fight? Why is it that if the same trial of the Nazis were applied to American presidents over the last 100 years, most would be hanged? Why did you support dictatorships in Africa?

Well for one Iraq had a more corupt govermaent along with a strong military that could do damage to other nations once Suddam felt he was ready, and yes i felt there was no need for us to go into Iraq but since we did i would like for us to finish what was started.. and as for the insurgents we were on sides they turned on us because we were chosin to fight off Iraq in the first gulf war, i know it sounds dumb to turn on someone for a reason like that but unfortunatlly that did

However, supporting them in the first place was not for the right reasons. The Iraqi government has a human rights record and is as corrupt as Burma, however as you put it, Iraq was going to damage other nations - nations with natural resources that the US required. Burma doesnt have oil, that is the primary reason. Supporting the dictatorships was purely because they were capitalist, and anti-communist. It was never a question of democracy or human rights, they were a secondary objective.

That was the purpose. Of course, the western media likes to paint the mission as simply to use civilians as target practise, while dragging all the mountains with T72's to Russian territory for resource recovery.
