I listen to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Dire Straits, Rammstein and more...and I LOVE Steps. They just had this happy wibe about them, nothing too serious...not like todays "music" where everyone has to look and sound so goddarn serious and "sexy" all the time.
God I hated this group with a passion with their trite dances and manufactured sound. But my goodness they do a damn good version of this classic Sunscreem track. Maybe i did'nt give them enough credit at the time.
Thats why they had simple, easy to follow dance moves and a clean image. But adults liked them too thats all. I do too lol. Everyone has their own tastes i guess.
@womblewandering Yeah I know they were aimed at kids, my own daughter was a big fan as she was exactly the right age when they were performing, thats why i was aware of them and why I also soon got tired of them. Life can be very hard when you are a parent lol! But she loved them and thats all that mattered at the time. As a Sunscreem fan I was pleasantly surprised at just how good this was though. Claire's hair was too short in those days. She was such a beautiful woman, and had such a beautiful voice. Her natural beauty was bought out when she grew her hair longer. Faye was the most graceful, and intelligent of the three. Lisa was lovely, and made anyone feel at ease. H, was so fun loving and made everybody laugh.. Lee.. well.. he was the man of the group who had every girl swooning at his feet. I think that at times he just tolerated H.

this isn't even that different from SUNSCREEMS original song.....hate the beats in the background but vocal-wise it's pretty similar.....maybe they sampled the vocals??....original is better!!

I think the originally would have been a bit too much for parents and their children to behonest.
But yes, Sunscreem's original lyrics definetly had more impact on people. I for one prefer it.

I wish they hadnt., Sunscreem had so much quality, they were a little too ahead of their time, Steps took a should be classic tune and turned it into Utter Shit!! They should have been banned!!!

but it was an album track so only ther fans wud of heard it, an if it wasnt for youtube you wudnt of heard it cos you obviously aint a fan. likewise i wouldnt of heard the original, which should of been banned with a line about fathers raping daughters, that is disgusting whatever meaning it had
