Take Joltin Joe Lieberman, the good legislator from Tel Aviv, er, Connecticut, who would have been Mr. Gore's Veep.

With Olbermann you certainly get a lot of criticism, but rarely of the right people or mistakes. He gripes more about poor planning, disastrous execution of the invasion, and the usual *cough* liberal complaints, instead of outright condemning interventionism. Of course, curbing international meddling would go against the grain of any good modern Democrat, seeing as how they've been behind America's participation in just about every major foreign war of the last century.
"The real patriots who've tried to undue this..." Senator Clinton? LOL! The same courageous senator who voted for Public Law No 107-243, otherwise known as the Iraq War Resolution? A war any non-neocon or bought+paid for AIPAC-pleasing politician knew would be a disaster?
Edelman is no different from Wolfowitz, Cheney and the rest of the Neocon scum who inhabit the Bush League Administration. batesm, an example of Bush lying? where should i start? well lets just use the first one, WMD! where are they? Bush started the war using this as the reason then two years later and thousands of US soldiers killed and he says that it was "faulty intelligence"! his own former counter terrorism expert said bush and his cronies where determined to go to war with iraq as soon as 911 took place! what else do you want me to say?
First, it wasn't a lie. Second, even if the WMDs were moved, there was legitimate reason to believe they existed. You make Saddam sound like a choirboy when you say WMDs didn't exist. They did! They certainly did! HE used them. There was more than enough reason to strike Iraq before 911.
I know, at the time, the GOP had all eyes focused on a cumstain, instead of Clinton's attempt to take out bin Laden in Afghanistan.
If only the GOP Congress conducted the same rigourous oversight on the current spineless worm at the top of a shitpile Administartion, they wouldn't be hypocrates.
Perhaps David Vitter could have gotten that ball rolling.
and as for "owned" well i would say when we call ourselves the worlds only superpower and everyday we get troops killed and can do nothing but shoot indescriminately at civilians and to bomb them from afar and then hid in the fortress we had to build to protect ourselves, i would call that being "owned".
Fortress? I'm sorry, did you say soldiers were getting killed?...so they're getting killed in this...fortress?? The enemy gets soldiers killed everyday too by far greater numbers, doesn't that make the US the "Owners"? You checked your logic at the door. Typical liberal.
batesm, i think you have no idea whats going on or just like other neocons you like to stick your head in the sand right? the rag tag militia are becoming more brazen everyday in their strategy against our soldiers and warmongers like yourself and 888plant like to hide behind your keyboards and call everyone who is anti war, antiamerican. yeah i can see what great patriots you are! go and fight this war you want so much or shut up.
Speaking of destroying the fabric of a nation there Keith just exactly what do you think your blind hatred of this country is doing !!!LIBERAL MOUTHPIECE KEITH THATS ALL YOU WILL EVER BE!!!!!
Its hard to fight a war when congress and bleeding heart liberals have your hands tied!man they just cant get past putting all blame of anything that has went wrong on George Bush!He hasnt been excatly the best president ,but they let their hatred blind them to the real efforts that are happening around them everyday!By the way any democracy that has been est has always taken around 7 years to get up and running!
The ignorance is amazing. How many years did this war go on with a Republican president, Republican majority House, and Republican majority Senate? Liberals have hands tied? They just signed off on the emergency spending bill to extend the war (pathetically in my opinion). Please explain how your commander in chief sent too few troops, ill-equipped, and ill-trained to the wrong arena. Keith doesn't hate America, far from it... he hates this administration.
Good. The war shouldn't be fought. It's pointless. What do you know about real efforts? Did you take part in Fire the Grid? No. You're blind to any real efforts being made for peace on this planet. Democracy has nothing to do with anything.
As a great President under pressure by an oppositional Congress once said about his decisions:
"The buck stops here".
That takes courage and convictions.
The Bush Administration is so willing to blame everyone else for their complete ineptitude. Despite having six years of a rubber stamp, cult of a Congress to just give him whatever he demanded.
The Congress right now has the lowest rating ever. They just don't see the big picture. May God use America the way He sees fit and May God bless the families who paid the ultimate price. Nothing this world has to offer can heal their pain. May we who remain awaken to the truth and not be distracted from the big picture.
Hey 888JewPlant: It is pretty obvious you're some idiot writing from some kibbutz in Israel, trying to foment criticism of anti-Bush commentators. Go back to stealing Palestinian land you idiot and stop commenting on America, you subverting Jew.
What is the big picture then? Weak knees are not good for your ACL. I found that out the hard way. We can choose to live in our own little worlds or get in volved in God's big picture. The latter is full light and hope. The former is a dead end. May God show you the big picture.
The bigger picture is that all of Bush's policies have been a failure and propped up by a subservient Congress until just this year. Ironically, the GOP have decided to become obstructionsist, rarely from principle, mostly from posturing. It's hypocritical after all their whining about "the will of the people".
As for the Dems, they could certainly do with some control. Sure, they have been humiliated by Rove's propaganda, but give Reid some credit for attempting to gain consensus with Republicans. Can the US leave Iraq in total and all at once? No, and plans need to be put forth without the ramp-up of rhetoric both sides endulge in.
Yet Congress works for it's citizens, what was done was not political theater.
Six years after the worst tragedy in generations of Americans, the exploitation of that event is a shameful, despicable tactic. The Administration encouraged a polarized nation at a time when the country should be united. It has blamed it's failings on others, holds the military hostage and relied on citizens' fear to keep power.
May God provide the Congress with the will to demand this incompetent Bush Administration be held accountable. Changing course in Iraq and responding to the greater threat means the Adminstration must answer truthfully for it's misdeeds.
Citizens' fear because of their lack of understanding who God is. This is a short time period that most people are hung up on because of their lack of faith in a God who is bigger than this entire situation. To discern the times will focus you on a God who knows exactly what is going on. It is such a plan no one can claim to be more than a pawn. A pawn in the Masters hand that is.
I can respect your faith and appreciate your words.
Yet there is a time when one also must put faith in other people and hope that abuses to their lives, their societies, and their ideals are confronted and those who caused them are held accountable.
That starts with our leaders in the Administration.
I have trouble with faith in man. I do have faith that the God our President claims to believe in is big enough to have His Will be done. The only problem is understanding God's ways. I do believe it is possible to know God's ways. Bush is not a perfect man. God is a perfect God.
Wall Street Journal carried an interview with former North Vietnamese Colonel Bui Tin, a member of the North Vietnamese general staff. Col Tin was asked, "Was the American anti-war movement important to Hanoi's victory?"He responded, "It was essential to our strategy... Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9:00 AM to follow the growth of the American anti-war movement.
I give Hilary credit for first announcing she would put an end to this war. However, she has since flip flopped and is now stating she is for continuing the deployment of specialized units to protect our troops in Iraq and other key areas of National interest.
Clinton and Bush are part of thesame criminal syndicate..How can Olberman support Clinton?? She voted for this war!! Now its not popular..People know the truth she sells out for favor...
What is this back throttle!! Clinton now has become anti IRaq?? She wanted this war...The Bush/Clinton Crime Syndicate sanctioned this war!!! Maybe Olberman is selling out but I aint!! All of these corrupt people need to be replaced!! No to Bush..No to Clinton..And YES TO RON PAUL!!!!!

Even on that, technically, the NVA attacked first. Gulf of Tonkin sound familiar?
Need you be reminded, Iraq never attacked first?
It's a neat trick how Republicans are willing to state direct quotes from the enemy as justification for their mismanaged war in Iraq. Instead of diverting more resources to actually taking out safe havens for extremists.
You know, like Afghanistan? Six years later, tragically still a safe haven.
Ideology and Theology. Apples and Oranges. Need I remind you we were under a broken cease-fire from the Gulf War? They threw the first punch. It just took 8 years of wading through Clinton's cowardice to follow through. BTW, we're prosecuting the war in Afghanistan too...didya know?
the only prosecuting that should be done, batesm is the one that Bush and his cronies should be facing in the Hague for war crimes. and people like you should be tried for cowardice.
One simple question will segregate Anti-Americans from Americans. "Do you want the US to lose the War, yes or no?" Olbermann's answer would be a resounding, "NO!"
batesm, you just said it all for me! "One simple question will segregate Anti-Americans from Americans. "Do you want the US to lose the War, yes or no?" Olbermann's answer would be a resounding, "NO!" " that contradicts what you are saying about Olbermann!
Funny Vietnam is our friend now. What happened? Saddam is dead and VietNam is our friend. Gore was accusing us of trying to make friends with Saddam over 20 years ago. We are trying to spread Democracy not ignorance.
Societies arrive at democracy, they don't become democratic by having Democracy "spread" on them (i.e. being occupied by the US army and voila!) - that is a false and dangerous assumption. Democracy is about entrenched values, not entrenched beliefs.
Vietnam is slowly becoming a democratic country, not because it was invaded by the US some decades ago (Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba - have you noticed how countries that are attacked by the US empire resist Democracy the most?), but because it is slowly but surely becoming acquainted with democratic values (or whatever passes for democratic values these days, but that's another story).
dude, wtf, fred thompson's a dirty old man. nobody's voting for hollywood fred. republicans are even dumber than their fanny packs look if they elect that sleazy geezer.
What will it take to wake up the rest of the US? I despair of my fellow citizens - soon-to-be subjects or vassals. And who is going to explain it to them? (Sorry - I can't do cartoons.)
batesm, to you neocons, anyone who speaks the truth about iraq is an "anti american". the truth is that its cowards like you who weaken our great country by sending troops to fight in illegal wars and yet hide behind your welfare claiming trailer trash asses.
As long as Speaker Nancy (The Enabler) Pelosi continues to state that impeachment is off the table, Congress will remain irrelevant to this criminal administration.
one of these days we're ALL going to have to realize that this administration is in way too deep. their corruption is much further down the rabbit hole than any of us can even imagine. they will NOT leave on their own accord and HAVE to be forcefully removed. if we don't do it soon, they will just keep consuming more power making it harder to do so.
Thanks Keith for your continuing of speaking truth to power. Bush MUST be IMPEACHED along with Darth Cheney and Alberto Gonzoles. These people are war criminals at the very least and committed treason by outing a CIA operative.
Ouch to the WWI reference. It's clear Bush and his chickenwild bunch are the worst team to direct the USA, and if they continue with this crazy tyrannical idea of Executive privilege we will have to start thinking into changing the Constitution and limiting clearly the powers of the KING-presidents
Bush is stupid -- global Islamic Fascism is a big fat chunk of the 1.5 BILLION Muslims, not 'a few idividuals'. We should pull out and nuke the filth of Islam out of W.Asia and N.Africa.
You mean turn the sand to glass. Does Keith like glass? Like I said before we must look at the big picture. God doesn't want anyone to perish. We could eliminate all land mass except the United States. What would this prove?
1) If you really care about what Keith likes, then you need a new guru. 2) Islamic Fascism is the 'big picture'. 3) We 'could' do lots of stupid things, but that's beside my point, and would 'prove' nothing.
Back to my point. The world minus Islamic Fascism equals peace -- even the communists (except those in the USA) are evolving.
Oh dear, you honestly think that "the world minus islamic fascism equals peace". Oh yes, once they're gone, the world will be a UTOPIA. Republicans are so cute!
akobar - I agree with the 'cute' part; however, you suggest that an absence of Islamic Fascism is UTOPIA, then you pose it as if it was my claim, and then you mock your own contrivance.
That doesn't quite pass for a rebuttal, does it?
Then again, what is there to rebut -- that Islam is warring on all of humanity while blaming victims in their target nations (from Darfur to Netherlands) -- it's just a reality. Absent Muslim bloodlust, the world is relatively peaceful now.
Ok, allow to me correct myself... "The world minus Islamic Fascism equals peace". Splitting hairs? And I must say, the reason why it SEEMS as if Islamic Fascism/Extremism is the main problem in the world today is because that's the only one that the American media, ESPECIALLY Fox news focuses on. Please, do yourself a favor and refer to bbc news online. Much more of a global view at the problems at large.
It's the 'global view' of 'the problems at large' specifically that I addressed.
Regardless of news source, there is but one reality -- Islam is a 1400+ yr old death cult that has been warring on humanity since its inception. It now infests almost every city of every nation on every continent of earth, and its bloodlust is evidenced almost daily.
That reality stands -- fox or no fox. Do yourself a favor and side with humanity. Reject the filth of Islam.

and as for "owned" well i would say when we call ourselves the worlds only superpower and everyday we get troops killed and can do nothing but shoot indescriminately at civilians and to bomb them from afar and then hid in the fortress we had to build to protect ourselves, i would call that being "owned".
antiwarcampaigner 4 years ago
I can you get your news from Olbermann.
888plant 4 years ago
Fortress? I'm sorry, did you say soldiers were getting killed?...so they're getting killed in this...fortress?? The enemy gets soldiers killed everyday too by far greater numbers, doesn't that make the US the "Owners"? You checked your logic at the door. Typical liberal.

Its hard to fight a war when congress and bleeding heart liberals have your hands tied!man they just cant get past putting all blame of anything that has went wrong on George Bush!He hasnt been excatly the best president ,but they let their hatred blind them to the real efforts that are happening around them everyday!By the way any democracy that has been est has always taken around 7 years to get up and running!
edger76 4 years ago
The ignorance is amazing. How many years did this war go on with a Republican president, Republican majority House, and Republican majority Senate? Liberals have hands tied? They just signed off on the emergency spending bill to extend the war (pathetically in my opinion). Please explain how your commander in chief sent too few troops, ill-equipped, and ill-trained to the wrong arena. Keith doesn't hate America, far from it... he hates this administration.
basec0m 4 years ago
Good. The war shouldn't be fought. It's pointless. What do you know about real efforts? Did you take part in Fire the Grid? No. You're blind to any real efforts being made for peace on this planet. Democracy has nothing to do with anything.

Do the Democrats want the US to win in a war against Global religious extremism?
I say yes, which is why it's time to remove the Administration that has failed to win the war. Instead, the only thing Bush relies on is fear itself.
MKB2814 4 years ago
This isn't a video game. If you want to win the war, support the war makers.

MKB2814 4 years ago
The Congress right now has the lowest rating ever. They just don't see the big picture. May God use America the way He sees fit and May God bless the families who paid the ultimate price. Nothing this world has to offer can heal their pain. May we who remain awaken to the truth and not be distracted from the big picture.
888plant 4 years ago
Hey 888JewPlant: It is pretty obvious you're some idiot writing from some kibbutz in Israel, trying to foment criticism of anti-Bush commentators. Go back to stealing Palestinian land you idiot and stop commenting on America, you subverting Jew.
rohr808 4 years ago
What is the big picture then? Weak knees are not good for your ACL. I found that out the hard way. We can choose to live in our own little worlds or get in volved in God's big picture. The latter is full light and hope. The former is a dead end. May God show you the big picture.
888plant 4 years ago
The bigger picture is that all of Bush's policies have been a failure and propped up by a subservient Congress until just this year. Ironically, the GOP have decided to become obstructionsist, rarely from principle, mostly from posturing. It's hypocritical after all their whining about "the will of the people".
MKB2814 4 years ago
As for the Dems, they could certainly do with some control. Sure, they have been humiliated by Rove's propaganda, but give Reid some credit for attempting to gain consensus with Republicans. Can the US leave Iraq in total and all at once? No, and plans need to be put forth without the ramp-up of rhetoric both sides endulge in.
Yet Congress works for it's citizens, what was done was not political theater.
MKB2814 4 years ago
Six years after the worst tragedy in generations of Americans, the exploitation of that event is a shameful, despicable tactic. The Administration encouraged a polarized nation at a time when the country should be united. It has blamed it's failings on others, holds the military hostage and relied on citizens' fear to keep power.
MKB2814 4 years ago
May God provide the Congress with the will to demand this incompetent Bush Administration be held accountable. Changing course in Iraq and responding to the greater threat means the Adminstration must answer truthfully for it's misdeeds.
MKB2814 4 years ago
Citizens' fear because of their lack of understanding who God is. This is a short time period that most people are hung up on because of their lack of faith in a God who is bigger than this entire situation. To discern the times will focus you on a God who knows exactly what is going on. It is such a plan no one can claim to be more than a pawn. A pawn in the Masters hand that is.
888plant 4 years ago
I can respect your faith and appreciate your words.
Yet there is a time when one also must put faith in other people and hope that abuses to their lives, their societies, and their ideals are confronted and those who caused them are held accountable.
That starts with our leaders in the Administration.
MKB2814 4 years ago
I have trouble with faith in man. I do have faith that the God our President claims to believe in is big enough to have His Will be done. The only problem is understanding God's ways. I do believe it is possible to know God's ways. Bush is not a perfect man. God is a perfect God.
888plant 4 years ago
"the will of the people" What about the will of God?
888plant 4 years ago
What about the will of God?
Bush's actions had nothing to do with God, despite his propaganda.
God would demand the truth and not accept Executive Priveldge as the answer for potential abuses of Justice, Higher Office, and general humanity.

MKB2814 4 years ago
Ideology and Theology. Apples and Oranges. Need I remind you we were under a broken cease-fire from the Gulf War? They threw the first punch. It just took 8 years of wading through Clinton's cowardice to follow through. BTW, we're prosecuting the war in Afghanistan too...didya know?

888plant 4 years ago
Democracy is not like religion.
Societies arrive at democracy, they don't become democratic by having Democracy "spread" on them (i.e. being occupied by the US army and voila!) - that is a false and dangerous assumption. Democracy is about entrenched values, not entrenched beliefs.
MarquisdeBarrabas 4 years ago
Interesting point. What religious belief is best suited for democracy? That answer is obvious. Don't get it wrong now.
888plant 4 years ago
Vietnam is slowly becoming a democratic country, not because it was invaded by the US some decades ago (Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba - have you noticed how countries that are attacked by the US empire resist Democracy the most?), but because it is slowly but surely becoming acquainted with democratic values (or whatever passes for democratic values these days, but that's another story).
MarquisdeBarrabas 4 years ago
"What religious belief is best suited for democracy?"
Whichever opposes democratic values the least. And that could be any religion, depending on the cultural leanings of those who profess it.
Class dismissed.

Bush is stupid -- global Islamic Fascism is a big fat chunk of the 1.5 BILLION Muslims, not 'a few idividuals'. We should pull out and nuke the filth of Islam out of W.Asia and N.Africa.
TylerNull 4 years ago
You mean turn the sand to glass. Does Keith like glass? Like I said before we must look at the big picture. God doesn't want anyone to perish. We could eliminate all land mass except the United States. What would this prove?
888plant 4 years ago
1) If you really care about what Keith likes, then you need a new guru. 2) Islamic Fascism is the 'big picture'. 3) We 'could' do lots of stupid things, but that's beside my point, and would 'prove' nothing.
Back to my point. The world minus Islamic Fascism equals peace -- even the communists (except those in the USA) are evolving.
TylerNull 4 years ago
Oh dear, you honestly think that "the world minus islamic fascism equals peace". Oh yes, once they're gone, the world will be a UTOPIA. Republicans are so cute!
akobilis 4 years ago
akobar - I agree with the 'cute' part; however, you suggest that an absence of Islamic Fascism is UTOPIA, then you pose it as if it was my claim, and then you mock your own contrivance.
TylerNull 4 years ago
Ok, allow to me correct myself... "The world minus Islamic Fascism equals peace". Splitting hairs? And I must say, the reason why it SEEMS as if Islamic Fascism/Extremism is the main problem in the world today is because that's the only one that the American media, ESPECIALLY Fox news focuses on. Please, do yourself a favor and refer to bbc news online. Much more of a global view at the problems at large.
akobilis 4 years ago
It's the 'global view' of 'the problems at large' specifically that I addressed.
Regardless of news source, there is but one reality -- Islam is a 1400+ yr old death cult that has been warring on humanity since its inception. It now infests almost every city of every nation on every continent of earth, and its bloodlust is evidenced almost daily.
That reality stands -- fox or no fox. Do yourself a favor and side with humanity. Reject the filth of Islam.

Well said.
