I'm an iPad owner and love it beyond words. That being said, this is one of the few (current) Droid tabs I would proudly own and pimp. This thing is undeniably tits.
@phlegmaticinstature lol. are you trying to be funny? or do you truly believe that they're different? The core of the OS is Android. Droid is a Motorola brand that runs the Android operating system.
@ironskilit putting a Rolls Royce engine in a Honda civic does not make it a Rolls Royce. I have a G2, and people ask me "omg is that a Droid?" and I have to be like "No, its a G2... but it has android."
@thenullsicks agreed, however, if we're strictly talking the core OS, talking software not hardware, then we're still stuck with using the Android OS. Hardware wise there's all kinds of choices.

I guess a less obscure comparison would be installing OS X on a custom built PC, and then having someone call it a Mac. The pet peeve is with the lack of distinction between software product and hardware brands.
Apparently major retailers are recalling this Tablet... Viewsonic keeps changing their excuses - saying it user experience error, then blaming it on adobe flash, then blaming it on android... Staples recalled this product - apprantly it is still an unfinished product.
@sgvroadster - It's probably because ViewSonic did end up adding their own software on it. The Tegra2 SoC is pretty great though, so you just need to head over to XDA and pick up one of the custom builds they put out (like TnT 3.1.1 or newer).
I updated the tablet within 20 minutes and now that I've figured out the process, I download and update to new builds in less than 5 minutes directly from the tablet.
i love how now that this came out the ui overlay is crap. so it kills the out of box hardware potential. if you root it it could be amazing . just throw on cyanogen. but omg no one is gunna buy this thing from the store because it seems soo slow. im an easytech at staples and we have one of these and i did alot of research on it. hands down best android tablet out. for the price and hardware. only worth it if u root it though.
@drawnhere Most sites that are not supported through flash, have a sort of app. Such as youtube, or Newegg, or ebay, or amazon, or tumbr, or any of the sites in that app store. All of these apps I have listed along with MANY more a completely free and can make things generally easier. But I do wish that it could at least convert the flash to quicktime, not that that would be even possible, as I am not one to make such a conjecture due to my lack of knowledge in the field.
@gamefreakjtb - Flash runs like a champ on this device. I've heard that it's not included from ViewSonic because Adobe did not certify the device. You can download the Flash APK as well as a much better overall software setup from the XDA-developers
Some of the features you mention in this review didn't make it to the final release I guess, at least the ViewSonic G Tablet I have doesn't.
e.g. No stock Android it comes with ViewSonic's custom UI, No Sim slot, My ViewSonic didn't shipp with a hdmi cable. I've also seen some pics with a kick stand mine didn't come with that either.
I am not usually one to support apple, but I have an iPhone and I want an iPad cause of the iTunes integration and the app store. ONLY think iPad is missing is a Video Camera. Which I'm sure after apple released it, Steve Jobs was like, FUCK ME! We forgot the camera! So I'm expecting that the next gen will have it. I was happy to see it present here. I like the nVidia processor, but again, just like with iPhone and iPod, you just won't be able to beat the iPad.

What is this recent obsession with putting glossy/reflective screens on devices. This HP laptop is guilty of the same thing and it's only OK as long as I keep the brightness on max.
@stardel6 Knowing that your tablet is not a windows powered tab, you need to go the market and search for MSN talk application, which is free. I do not know if there's is one that's allows you to have a video chat type deal on messenger, but you can also try and download Qik of Fring that would. Let me know if it works for you on your tablet, cause I'm planning on getting one on Friday.
@DJTEVAdotCOM Well, the Samsung Galaxy tab is nice, and it is kicking some ass (__I__), plus IS NOT made in CHINA, but it is very expensive on the AT&T Network, which is 650.00 plus tax and there's no need to sign up a contract. They need to drop the price.

Hi, does anyone know if it has multi-language support? No one needs and extension of a PC these days or a PC for that matter. 1-10? = 4 1/2 for having 1 g of ram, but seriously, This is not a computer or at least is not meant to be. @rml695 The Archos 101 Tablet does allow to sideload Android Market place so I don't see why Viewsonic Tablet shouldn't.
Reason why Android Market place isn't include is because the Viewsonic and also the Archos 101 are not "Google Android Approved" Devices.
