@BriggsStratton11 I don't know for sure, but many of these pro-stock and super-stock tractors don't always start out as a tractor. They are component built. Custom frame, rear end, highly modded engine. The only thing that gives them a model number is the sheet metal. I may be wrong, but looking at these machines up close, there is nothing OEM except the hood.

So when people get all tractor racist for super stocks, I just laugh at them, because there is nothing brand true on these things except the blocks, and all the blocks are pretty much the same from brand-to-brand; straight 6 or the occasional v8. If you really want to compare brands, watch mod turbo classes or farm stock classes.

@farmerallis I skimmed thru rules to learn more. Unlimited Super Stock: Max 650cu.in. Fuels allowed: alcohol, diesel, or gasoline. Up to 4 turbos, & up to 3 pressure stages. Overhead cam is ok. Pro-Stock: Max 680cu.in. ONLY DIESEL. No other fuels. Water injection ok, but nothing combustible in the water. Only ONE turbo allowed. Intercoolers are ok. Super-Stock: Must have OEM or replica in original location. Up to 4 turbos. There are tons of other rules & classes. It's hard to digest it all.

@colin340 Anywhere from 100-200. And up to 4 turbos. No wonder they sometimes blow an intake pipe clamp, intake manifold, or turbo itself. Also, with boost pressures like that, they have to reduce the compression of the engine, in order to fit all that fuel, alcohol & water into the cylinders. With such low compression, the engines sometimes start hard, often requiring use of ether (starting fluid) until warmed up a little.
