At around 1:00 into the video a man walks out and puts something on the floor at the dancers feet, what did he put on the floor? it looked like money and then a little later into the video another man walks out of the crowd and picks the stuff up off of the floor, why? and is this part of the ritual?

He dropped money at his feet... it's to show appreciation for a song well danced so to speak... and is also a small give-away

And also, the stick-man (Arena director), usually gives the offerings (either a blanket or money) to a elder or someone nearby.
