He sounds like this probably because he's drug free and it might have taken the toll on him, plus I read that he was so nervous before the shows in 2003.

all of you are stupid. he's been known to change the key in which he played his songs, just for fun. he played this song, on this day, in a lower octave than the recorded version. he's got a tenor voice and he's trying to sing it in a key meant for a bass voice. he didn't have a cold..

He sings like this because smokin crack and heroin damaged his voice, i know from experiance(i have a full band live version of this song so i know this how he sang at times) I think this is great none the less. amazing man sorely missed love you elliott hope you found the peace of mind that life never gave you.
