  • I just realized the only lyrics in this song are: I don't have to sell my soul, he's already in me, I wanna be adored. You adore me.

  • This tape is gold dust.

  • probably the best band of the 90's Ian Brown is not out of tune and if he is so what

  • It seems Ian Brown's often out of tune. Great songs anyway...

  • It seems Ian Brown's often out of tune

  • huh justin bieber singing "indie" xD

  • John Squire has said on live news that he has no interest in re hashing the past and music is a young mans game..... John walked away from the band because of Ian's singing, and Ian was firstly getting Irriated with John's use of Cocaine.. John retreated into his introverted ways. The band were not talking to each other near the end, was a bad atmosphere. Source: Ian Brown - with and without the Roses, Great book !!

  • one of the best vids of the roses, two nearly HD performances (im so infatuated wit these guys it seems as such) and reni speaks! thumbs up for the uploader.

  • Brown's vocals sound better here than at the Blackpool gig

  • oh god i love them. !!!!!!!!!

  • I dont know if its possible to play this and not plat it full tilt and not shake yourself about to it. Whether yer in the motor, walking down the street with headphones on or cooking in the kitcken. One that will always be an anthem of a pilled up tripping generation.

  • im american and i definitively say that british music is much better than american music. however, i think that dylan, pixies, and nirvana are just as good as british music, but that is the extent of it

  • even if squire and brown dont wanna reform cant brown, mani and reni get back together and bring in a new guitarist!! johnny marr would be awesome!

  • @dana0800 John is John. No complaints :)

  • @dana0800 It isnt just John Squire that doesnt want to re-unite. Neither does Ian Brown.

  • @MrDataCode not even with mani and reni?

  • @dana0800 Why has Ian Brown fell out with John Sqauire?

  • @MrDataCode doesnt ian brown even want to reunite with mani and reni? i know he doesnt want to with squire. just wondered if he was still friendly with mani and reni :)

  • @dana0800 I don't think Ian and Squire fell out but they went their seperate ways, Ian with his solo career and Squire with his art. I just think Ian Brown doesnt want to have a Stone Roses reunion. Just because bands like The Rolling stones have done it doesnt mean all the bands will.

  • agian holy fuck...but i guess no posh ?upper class people in uk have a clue.im a kiwi..and i hate the royal family...

  • king monkey

  • At 4:00 it looks like 2 kids have just been transported there from 1973.

  • Mystical.

  • Then, I should have known better. Still in my red Marks cardy, and the no 1 and quiff. And in the bloody Hacienda trying to look like Morrissey. I still can`t get over myself.

  • UK bands are the best!

  • wa hay the summer of 1989 lager and soft morrocan in the afternoons, jesus it was lovely , what memories. it was great to be english and northern [still is ] .music drugs football northern girls ahhhhh the memories . and this was that summers soundtrack along with 808 state and tons and tons of dub reggae n lovers rock . fucking hell why do we have togrow old .

  • @erictheviking871

808 State made me scover Manchester and its music. I grew up in Milan,Italy, and I was constantly saving up to come to manchester twice/3 times a year to club!

  • this shit is fucking spiritual

  • 4001 = plank hehe

  • @tonupnolid oh and Ian can't hold a tune in a bucket. 1 great album despite all that.

  • Actually listening as I write this,to the gig that night. Anyone know where to get the full gig, visual?

  • this great cheers buddy!,

    green army!

  • This clip from the great SnubTV broke the Roses nationwide, me and my mates went out to buy the album the next day...funny watching it now as i see an over-rehearsed performance with out of tune vocals from ian...

  • No you didn't! The gig was filmed in Feb '89 and shown on BBC2 on Snub TV around March or April. I was at the gig. Later on I recorded the 2 songs shown on Snub TV on video and on cassette. I remember I'd made a cassette of all the Roses single releases and just had enough room to stick these 2 live tracks at the end. I remember driving round with my mates blasting out these songs in the car. It was May 6th I think, before the LP was released, so it was great to have these songs in advance.

  • Apologies for my bad memory, i stand corrected

  • dude, the album came out on march 13 1989, i bought it soon after. I did see the snub episode and seeing Ian swagger plus great tunes did it for me. long live snub! Oh, rikstart23 was more correct, get it sorted garageflower!!

  • I think Browny sounds alright here...somebody said about the "I wanna be Adored" take, that it was "over-rehearsed"! What does that even equate to? This was a changing moment for them that no doubt helped "That Album" being blasted outta Hulme bedsits, student halls and ALL of Manchester...!

  • Fuckin' top one!

  • awesome......u needed 2 b livin the times....etc;MADchester

  • Haha, I'm actually there in the queue outside the Hacienda....19 seconds into it, what a top night that was, its great to see again!!

  • that's cool,Have you heard anything about a possible reunion of any sort? Here in the states back when i was in high school we would listen to alot of underground music just to get away from trash that most radio stations played.Who in the hell wanted to listen to color me bad and c&c music factory. Thanks to the roses high school was a blast!!Wish i could have seen them play

  • Right there with you brother. US music was crap back then. Stone Roses Forever! Best album of all time!

  • US music wasn't 100% total crap, just maby 99%. Guns and Roses became really good after Slash locked axel in the closet and got another frontman; nirvana was really good. But yes, The Stone Roses are still IT even after almost twenty years. Just plain brillant!

  • Are you talking about good american music and named Guns n Roses???

    Whats wrong with you?

  • What's wrong with you two?

Of course Guns N' Roses used to be a great band... Apetitte For Destruction is such a great album (take into account that's their debut album just like The Stone Roses' one). I hope you didn't mean Velvet Revolver when you said "Slash got another frontman", 'cause that's a fuckin' crap.

Of Course US music is good, but you have to look for more bands than just Nirvana and that kind of crap.

  • Ok then

  • im so jealous m8

  • whats life like now

  • @manchesterdiva Lucky fucker...

  • @manchesterdiva lol thats cool as fk

  • Comment removed

  • his singin here is fine ,hey listen 2 mccartney hes pisspoor,if he was that shit no-one wud go 2 his live concerts, hes just showing everyone u can do it,he was bang into the pistols, loadsa bands sound different live, but the roses n IB R SPECIAL like mccartney is 2 his fans.ask Heather,ha,ha,ha

  • ummm what?

  • wtf?

  • amazing group.....1 OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER ,shame Squires turned int such a tWAT..HEs sniffed his brain to shit

  • That would be Ian;

  • NO OBVIOUSLY JOHN or wtf?

  • wats wrong.the truth hurts ,i suppose

  • everything you said there is correct man. John Squire is a walking advert for any anti-drug campaign. fair play, the rest of th lads were taking shit. But Squire's brain just mash now. when you're on a line of beak for breakfast, summat's wrong. Squire must take accountability for walking out on his mates - mates! he'd been at school with browny ffs! - and starting the joke that was the sea horses! and to see what he's turned into now, a sad little old man who can't hold a conversation together

  • u know the truth 2.too many still in love with squire 89-95,nowadays hes just washed up ,n his singin is awful, truley awful, the roses shouldda gone 4 johnny marr,n they'd still b rockin peoples world,JS IS AN EMBARESSMENT NOW callin the debut album "twee" showws he respects no1 ,i bet he cant stand himself, look in the mirror John, its fuckin ugly wat we see

  • still remember seeing this on TV and having to order the record as none of the local shops had it. SnubTV was/is a really underrated show. Thanks for posting this dw9707

  • Could anybody post a video of Breeder's appearance in this show?

  • ask to a Breeder's fan not a Stone Roses fan

  • Brilliant songs! Ian Brown's dancing always amuses me though!

  • yeah, he's either amazing (check out waterfall on tv, somewhere on here, note perfect) or awful. The others make up for him though, they really are the pride of manchester

  • One of the greatest UK singles EVER!

  • not mutch to say because everyone knows there fucking great

  • Love the Roses to death, but my 8 month old daughter could sing in key better than Ian, and she can't even speak yet! We're lucky they released Blackpool, as looking back on it, it's amazing how much effort I put into trying to pretend it wasn't that bad!

  • Ian live is outrageous.

  • an hes started gobbin on his fans, not the IB of 89(i believe in anarchy as a state of mind)quote IB CIRCCA 89-90

  • 2 comments and they both say very nice, where's the spirit of madchester?

  • Yeah mate, Nice? C'mon, it was fuckin life affirming for us at the time. Total euphoria every time you heard them play. Anything seemed possible with the Roses as your soundtrack.

  • very nice

  • cool video,sounds very nice!!

    5/5
