  • 0:25 I want that train.

  • After seeing this dreadful new Toys R Us advert they put out this year, I searched on youtube and found this.

To my surprise the new advert is actually using the lyrics from this vintage ad, how about that?

  • 0:19

    "there is gay lid"

  • They really had to show the E.T. video game?

  • If Toys Are Us wants to keep in business they need to release more classic MOTU figures, release more classic TMNT figures, and then relaunch Thundercats toys for the new series and sell more classic Joes again and M.A.S.K. and every toy from the 80s. Then, they'd be in business for sure because those toys were creative and fun.

  • HOLY FUCK AT 0:16

    ET THE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL

  • @Fredinosaur that game fucking sucked

  • The Asian girl on the train has been in several movies and T.V. shows too.

  • @TheNatchMan What movies and what is her name?

  • @bam10333333 i believe it's Lindsey Price.

  • @BoneThugsEternal sorry Lindsay Price

  • U r never to old to like toys R us I don't wanna grow up imma toys r us kid!!!!'n

  • im to old and like toys r us!

  • "B*tch *ss n***a, I be comin' up in that damn Toys R Us, they don't got no damn colorin' books, no Magic Markers...!!!"

    -Angry Black Man

  • @heresthadude1080

Wtf!? Lmao, You got a laugh outta me.

  • @ExopoliticalIdealist It's a quote. The Angry Black Man said it.

  • I like the Snoopy toothbrush.

  • ET game?

    Haha oh wow

  • I like the Snoopy toothbrush.

  • I used to have one of those electric Snoopy toothbrushes!

  • @BreezyLotus

Yep me too that battery went on forever I swear. Becme the forerunner to the electric toothbrushes out now!

  • I like that puppet.

  • I saw a snoopy toothbrush.

  • RAPE FACE AT END

  • Toys R Us was sooo frickin cool back in those days!!! I miss the way it was

  • Wow, I still remember this song. When X-mas came around in Brooklyn, I would always watch thhe 'March of the Wooden Soldiers' & when the commercials came on, this is the commercial they played. Damn, I feel soooooooo old...

  • My grams luvs this song, she keeps singing it lol. She iz sooooooo cool. And she can do the stanky legg lolo. but no joke

  • notice that some of the people in this ad are wearing a shirt that says im a toys r us kid

  • Yep my Mom bought one for my Dad back then because I swore every Sunday we spent hours playing Intellivision

  • More Games More Toys!! Oh Boy!!!! I Always Remember That Part!!!

  • E.T. = FTW!

  • Lindsey Price on the train..rofl

  • wow, i have not been in a toy's r us store in 21 years

  • I still remember all the words..LOL

  • toysrus= win

  • TT TOYS R US IS HAUNTED

  • HOLY SHIT THEY HAS VIDEOS GAYMZ!

  • but do they have battle toads for Wii??!?!?

  • hamies is bigger

  • I believe the woman at :10 who sings the words: "They got the best for so much less, you'll really flip your lid", is actress Beverly Sanders and the guy at the end of the commercial at :28 is actor William Bogert (I'm not too sure of that as the video quality is a bit fuzzy)

  • And the guy in the bathtub looks like John Welsh (Detective Big Earl Barnett Sr.) from What's Happening!!

  • My family was way too poor to afford store bought toys, and these toys r us commercials, among many other toy advertisements on tv, absolutely made me ache. It was just as well since there were no toys r us stores in my neighborhood, at least that I knew of. I wouldnt step foot into an actual toys r us store untill my early teens, and even then I was just accompanying a friend. I still couldnt afford anything they had for sale.

  • -So you hate them because you couldn't afford thier toys?-

No I DONT hate them. WHERE did I say I hated them?

    -That's a stupid reason-

Yes that is a stupid reason. But thats not my reason. Thats your projection. Again, I never hated them.

  • -Seems like "I hate them" to me-

"Made me ache" SEEMS like 'I hate them' to you??? You need a reading comprehension course. Ache is NOT hate. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Ache: have a desire for something or someone who is not present. A longing or desire; a yen. To yearn painfully. Example: refugees who ached for their homeland.

  • OH SHIT they featured the E.T video game in this commercial... Did people die when this was aired?

  • Comment removed

  • what does she say before "it will really flip your lid?"

  • ok???

  • aww, man this commecrcial brings back memories...i use to be on the phone line all the time with Toys R Us in the early 90's asking them..."hey man, you got Tecmo Bowl for NES?"

  • Tecmo Bowl STILL owns all, even Madden! lol

  • I must agree with the Tecmo Bowl, 4 plays stop me if you can! I remember my friends and I would bet money on those games. I was always the Raiders, because it would take an Army to bring down Bo Jackson!

  • i miss the 80's.

  • OMG! :18 ET THE VIDEO GAME! LOL lONG LIVE THE ANGRY VIDEO GAME NERD!

  • you do realize he hasn't actually reviewed that game yet, right?

  • Toys r us was greated it always clearly represented the corporate face that horred the shit that me and my friends never had the money to buy...did i mention ohh joy

  • DUD!! I AGREED 100%

  • Any one notice Ralphie from A Christmas Story

  • Actually it isn't. That kid posted in the comments here, look a little further down.

  • @KJH278 That wasn't Ralphie. Check your glasses.

  • @KJH278 is that actually who that kid is? he looks scary amounts like my nephew.

  • hey I live in a group home and I know a local staff member in my hometown who use to work at ToysRUs where I live ^-^ I LOVE THIS STORE!

  • I used to work at Toys R' Us too and I hated every minute of it!

  • I've worked for Toys R Us for 6 years but for some odd reason I still love it. Corporate gets more bullshittier by the year, but my coworkers are awesome...and it's still a million times better than working for GameStop

  • haha funny commercial, i work in toys r us in holland myself haha :"P

  • no coment hear

  • we had that e.t. atari game and my sister had the snoopy toothbrush. i loved these commercials as a kid but i got so upset that we had no toys r us near us till i was like 15.

  • Toys R Us isn't like that anymore. I remember Toys were piled to the Ceiling!

  • Toys R us is a much diffrent company now! like most old icons of our (60-80s Kids/GenXrs) and for that matter of the past they don't have the same jenesequoi that they once had. TRU today sucks.

  • @iatamtruthsquad Amen Brother!

  • that line was created by thriller author james patterson

  • they got the best for so much less

  • what does the woman say before 'flip your lid'?

  • still havent grown up more than i am forced to.

  • im still growing up

  • i never grew up.

  • I still have an atari that works!!

  • i can't believe they used e.t as the example game.

  • i second that, the game was the reason the industry crashed in '83 but thats life. The video game industry is doing as good as it ever ws now.

  • That was E.T.?? wow that looked bad, even for me who likes a lot of bad video games.

  • Yeah, E.T. @ .19!!! OH the horror!

  • ahhhh the good ole days. the eighties!

  • WOOOOOOw this is so old.....good stuff tho

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have been looking for this ad for the longest. I used to sing to this everytime it came on. Takes me back.

  • best commercial ever.

  • AW!!!! Memories!

  • Wow, a time before Toys 'R Us was beat down by Wal-Mart:)

  • god i love that song!!!!!!!!!!! i miss it

  • Ah, evil Atari E.T game.

    My eyes are burning

  • what is the song called hehe

    i like the song

I don't want to grow up

  • you feel more like a toys r us kid if you work there and i do and I LOVE IT! im proud to work for a excellent franchise!

  • Very true. Worked there for a few years and loved it.

  • Thanks for posting this! I was the blonde kid with glasses. The girl on the train is Lindsay Price. Now I can show it to my kids.

  • Does anyone know where I can find the toysrus lid commercial from the 90s, early to mid 90s. Toys r us was the best back in the day.

  • I know i just didnt see ET atari 2600 lol..

Im 36 now and i still buy toys, Because i can haha.

I remember going to toys r us just to see the new video games that would hit the shelves.. and believe me back then more games would come out a month then ever. I bought my first sega master system and tg16 cdrom from toys r us

  • You did.

  • How many of you are still "Toys R Us Kids"?

As for me, I just went the other day to TRU to pick up a Transformers Commemorative Edition Soundwave...

  • i remember this commercial from my childhood. loved to sing-a-long with it in and still do today lol :-)

  • do u think u can send me the lyrics for this song? my dad wants it...yes my dad...he wants this song as his ringtone

  • Lyrics for this ad. that I'd heard: I don't want to grow up. I'm a Toy-'R'-Us-Kid They got a million toys at Toys 'R' Us that she can play with I don't want to grow up. I'm a Toy-'R'-Us-Kid They got the best for so much less. You'll really flip your lid From bikes to trains to video games It's the biggest toy store there is (gee whiz) I don't want to grow up, cuz baby, if I did, I couldn't be a Toys 'R' Us Kid More games?! More toys?! Oh, boy! I wouldn't be a Toys 'R' Us Kid
  • AWESOME DUDE!!! my mom showed me this commercial cuz im 9 years old so i never saw dis on tv

  • Sweet! I remember when that was on tv. Toys R Us will always be the greatest store ever!

  • I love video games, But Et was a bad game. Like I said, I am 29 and still love video games.

  • I clearly remember this commercial-another one that takes me back. I think it came out around 1983.

  • Somewhere in my old VHS tapes I know I have a better quality copy of this commercial. Unfortunately, the tapes are 2 hours away in another state, and I there are too many tapes to sort through :(

  • I always try to remember the name of the jumping toy hes got at the end what were those called?

  • Space Pets? there was like 3 of them I believe

  • They had another commercial like this, only with kids. One of the kids featured on that commercial is Jaleel White, yes you read right, Steve Urkel was a Toys R Us kid! Did I do that?

  • i remember when this was a new commercial

  • haha the ET atari game!
